Alan took the receipt and handed it to Ryan. As Mary stepped closer, she caught a glimpse of the amount written on it. 80 pounds. The price made her pause for a second. Petrol really wasn't cheap at all.
She knew Ryan didn't carry that much cash on him, so without hesitation, she reached into her bag, took out a huge hundred-dollar bill, and handed it over.
Alan accepted the money and began rummaging through his bag. He searched for quite a while before finally pulling out a handful of bills and coins, counting them over and over again before managing to scrape together thirteen pounds. He scratched his head, his expression awkward.
"This is the first time our station's sold this much Petrol at once," he said apologetically. "Usually, people only buy a few liters. I almost didn't have enough change on me. This is all I could find. I hope you don't mind."
