Chapter 3 - The First Steps

"You need to learn how to control that power, Ry," Rara said after a moment."If you don't, you could endanger yourself and others."

Grandpa Sudarsono nodded."I'll teach you the basics, but you must train seriously. The modern martial world isn't like fairy tales—there are rules, academies, and constant threats."

The next day, Ryan began his first training session in the backyard. The movements Grandpa taught him were unlike any martial art he had seen on television. Each motion was designed to synchronize the body with the flow of natural energy.

"At the beginning, you must strengthen your foundation," Grandpa explained."All warriors start at the basic level—each level divided into nine stages."

He explained that the modern martial world followed a clear classification system.

"You're not even at Stage 1 of Level 1 yet," Grandpa said."But because of your bloodline, you can sense natural energy much faster than ordinary people."

Over the following days, Ryan balanced school and training. His body began to change—his muscles grew stronger without bulking up, his stamina increased dramatically, and even his eyesight sharpened.

A few weeks later, on his way home from school, Ryan witnessed something unforgettable.

Near a traditional market, two men dressed in black attempted to rob an elderly vendor. Before they could act, a young blonde woman in a black leather jacket appeared.

Her movements were lightning-fast—every strike precise. Without excessive force, she defeated both criminals within seconds, handed some money to the old vendor, and disappeared.

Ryan followed her into a quiet alley.

"Miss! I saw what you did just now. You're a warrior too, right?"

The woman turned around. She looked young—around twenty.

"My name is SOPHIE," she said."And you… you have a distinctive energy aura. You just started training, didn't you?"

Ryan nodded nervously."I only learned about this world a few weeks ago. I'm Ryan."

Sophie smiled faintly."If you truly want to learn about the modern martial world, come to Cakra Sakti Academy. Jalan Anggrek No. 123, behind the Citra Garden apartment complex. And say I sent you."

With that, she vanished into the crowd.

Ryan typed the address into his phone, his heart pounding.

His true journey had just begun.
