Chapter 68 - Ep 68

The night wind was cold feng lihan tell lin yue , mo shan want to mate with you , and I am agree with this , what do you think if you don't mind I think Mo shan reliable , lin yue become angry and finally confronted him.

Feng Lihan stood near the edge of the cliff, moonlight outlining his crimson wings. He had sensed Lin Yue's presence long before he spoke—but he hadn't turned.

"You discussed my future," Lin Yue said quietly, "without me."

Feng Lihan's shoulders stiffened.

"Lin Yue—"

Lin Yue stepped forward, eyes burning. "I heard enough."

Silence fell, thick and brittle.

"I don't want another mate," Lin Yue said, voice shaking despite his effort to stay calm. "I don't want protection traded like strategy. If you don't love me, just say it."

That—

That finally made Feng Lihan turn.

His eyes widened, something raw breaking through his composure. "That's not it."

"Then what is?" Lin Yue demanded. "Am I a burden now? Something you need to assign to someone else?"

"No," Feng Lihan said immediately, too fast. He crossed the distance between them in three strides. "Never that."

Lin Yue laughed bitterly. "Then explain."

Feng Lihan opened his mouth—closed it. His fists trembled.

"I am alone at the top," he said finally, voice low. "Every decision I make costs lives. Every mistake echoes through the clan." He looked away. "I carry too much."

Lin Yue's anger faltered—but didn't fade.

"And I don't?" he whispered. "I lost everything. I stand in this clan with no blade, no title—only you."

Feng Lihan swallowed.

"I want you safe," he said hoarsely. "More than anything. And I know Mo Shan—he's strong. He can protect you when I'm pulled away."

Lin Yue's eyes filled. "So you're giving me away?"

"No." Feng Lihan shook his head sharply. "I would never force you. If you don't want it—then it ends here."

He met Lin Yue's gaze fully now, naked honesty bleeding through his restraint.

"But don't ever think," Feng Lihan said, voice breaking, "that this is because I don't love you."

Lin Yue's breath hitched.

"If anything," Feng Lihan continued, "it's because I love you too much—and I'm terrified of losing you again."

The words hung between them, fragile and exposed.

Lin Yue looked away, chest tight, tears threatening but unshed.

"I don't need another mate," he said quietly. "I need to know I'm not being pushed aside."

Feng Lihan reached out—hesitated—then gently took Lin Yue's wrist.

"You are the one thing I have never let go of," he said. "And never will."

The mountain wind howled around them.

Somewhere below, Mo Shan watched the cliff in silence, understanding now that this was not a battle he could win by strength alone.

The bonds between them remained unbroken—

But stretched, trembling—

Waiting for Lin Yue's choice.
