Chapter 70 - Chapter 70

  Chapter 70 Spatial Imprint

"You're just like Muzan Kibutsuji." Aoki remained completely unfazed.

  He was joking.

Last time, Doma escaped because it was dawn.

This time, that wasn't an option.

  Aoki's figure vanished silently.

  Doma desperately tried to escape.

The dignity of a samurai was worthless to him.

He wasn't afraid of death, but he didn't want to die either.

  A figure suddenly appeared ahead.

Doma reacted swiftly, waving his fans: "Blood Demon Art, Scattered Lotus!"

Under the moonlight, tiny ice petals danced, dreamlike and ethereal, yet the edges of the flowers were as sharp as blades, easily reaping the lives that touched them.

Aoki's eyes narrowed slightly. His "Transparent World" and "Battle Intuition" were pushed to their limits, instantly finding a path and approaching Doma almost unharmed.

Bang! Bang! Bang! The collisions were rapid and violent.

  A dark shadow flew over.

Kanae Kochō and Giyu Tomioka instinctively dodged, only realizing it was Doma after the shadow landed.

Immediately, another figure appeared, his fist slamming down with immense force.

  Thud!

  The earth churned, cracking open.

Kanae Kochō and Giyu Tomioka staggered back several steps, watching the barely alive Upper Moon Two, gradually calming down.

They realized they had been blinded by concern.

With Aomura Kazuhiko's abilities, how could the enemy possibly escape?

Doma lay on the ground, a gaping hole in his chest, blood constantly oozing from his mouth, the wound throbbing but not healing.

Exhausted, his regenerative abilities collapsing, he was nearing his limit.

"I never thought I'd die at the hands of a demon."

Doma's face was calm to the point of indifference, his eyes devoid of fear, resentment, or despair—utterly devoid of emotion.

"At a time like this, is the absence of emotion a good thing?" Aoki flicked the blood from his hands.

Doma glanced at him indifferently: "Traitor, don't get too cocky, the master will definitely..."

  Bang!

His head exploded like a watermelon.

"Muzan on the outside, Muzan on the inside, I didn't expect you to be so loyal!"

Aoki muttered to himself, retracting his foot and extending his palm.

An invisible vortex appeared, Doma's body twisted and disappeared, as if swallowed by an invisible maw.

Kanae Kochō and Giyu Tomioka watched intently.

They both knew that Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko could become stronger by devouring demons, but this was the first time they had witnessed the specific process.

Contrary to their expectations, the whole process wasn't terrifying, just somewhat strange.

  [Constitution +1.]

  [Free Skill Points +2.]

[Killed Upper Moon Two, gained 2000 experience points.]

  [Congratulations on leveling up!]

[Ended a battle, gained 42 experience points.]

  "That feels good!"

Aoki let out a satisfied sigh.

It has to be an Upper Moon.

This experience, this reward, is just too good to pass up.

The previous gains that barely broke into double digits were simply insignificant!

The "Martial Artist" also gained 42 experience points.

  Not bad.

  A fruitful harvest.

Ignoring Kanae Kochō and Giyu Tomioka beside him, Aoki directly opened the system.

  [Name: Aoki]

  [Strength: 19]

  [Constitution: 19]

  [Intelligence: 19]

  [Agility: 19]

[Occupation: Hunter, White Walker, Martial Artist]

  [Free Attribute Points: 2]

  ...

  [Otherworldly Demon]

  Quality: ★★

  Level: lv15 (813/1500)

Skills: Demon Blood IV, Space Travel, Transparent World, Devouring Demon II

Quest: The End of the Upper Moon (2/3)

  Free Skill Points: 5

  ...

  [Martial Artist]

  Quality: ☆

  Level: lv3 (53/300)

Skills: Martial Heart, Combat Intuition, Body Control (Not yet learned), Unyielding Will (Not yet learned)

Gained 1 point of Constitution, the attributes are now perfectly balanced.

Following the previous plan, Aoki first allocated 2 free attribute points to Strength and Intelligence.

The former can directly increase attack power, while the latter has many benefits, including enhancing mental strength.

After arranging the attribute points, the real focus is on the next step.

The last upgrade saved 2 skill points, the "Devouring Demon" skill added 2 more skill points, plus the 1 skill point gained from the upgrade.

A total of 5 free skill points, enough to learn another skill.

Aoki's gaze lingered on the level 5 "Demon Blood" and the level 2 "Space Travel".

The level 2 "Transparent World" skill prompt indicated insufficient prerequisite skills; it should be learned after "Demon Blood" reaches another level, so it shouldn't be considered for now.

His previous plan was to learn level 5 "Demon Blood" first.

This would not only grant 4 attribute points, bringing all attributes to over 20, but also break through bloodline limits and overcome the weakness of being fatally beheaded.

Level 2 "Spatial Travel" only increased travel speed and didn't significantly improve combat power.

However, the painful experiences of the past three months have changed his mind.

His current combat power is sufficient.

Doma is already dead at his hands.

Kokushibo is at most on par with him; in a deathmatch, he would undoubtedly be the victor.

The only real threat to him is Muzan Kibutsuji.

However, the gap between him and Muzan cannot be bridged by 4 attribute points.

As for his weakness to being beheaded by a Nichirin Blade, that's also irrelevant.

He's now an ally of the Demon Slayer Corps, and their interactions over the past few months have been relatively pleasant; the Demon Slayer Corps is unlikely to harm him.

If danger arises, he can simply run away.

After reaching level 15, it's obvious that experience gains will decrease again.

However, with level 2 "Spatial Travel," his travel time will be greatly reduced. In the future, the only thing limiting his leveling speed will be the Demon Slayer Corps' intelligence gathering speed.

It's a long story, but in reality, Aoki made his decision in less than a second:

  "Learn level 2 'Spatial Travel'!"

As for "Demon Blood," he could only apologize.

Although it arrived first, "Spatial Travel" was more important now.

This leveling up was uneventful; a piece of information appeared out of nowhere in Aoki's mind, and then it ended.

The only change with level 2 "Spatial Travel" is the ability to create spatial imprints.

Teleportation via spatial imprints is not limited by distance and consumes very little energy.

After carefully experiencing it, Aoki felt a sense of déjà vu.

"Isn't this just the Flying Thunder God Technique?"

The two are indeed very similar in general, but there are still differences in the details.

First, spatial imprints cannot be imprinted on living beings.

Secondly, without mastery of spatial power, erasing a spatial imprint is virtually impossible. However, if the carrier is destroyed, the spatial imprint will automatically collapse.

"This characteristic isn't entirely a drawback," Aoki rubbed his chin.

The collapse of a spatial imprint is a process; teleportation is still possible before the structure completely disintegrates.

Although he hasn't tried it yet, he should be able to sense this change.

This characteristic can be used to create "summoning items."

Of course, it could also be exploited by enemies, so creating spatial imprints must be done with caution.
