Chapter 92 - Chapter 94 Two Poisons

  Chapter 94 Two Poisons

Kanae Kochō glared at her sister, then took out a syringe.

"Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko, actually, Shinobu and I have been trying to make a poison against Muzan Kibutsuji recently, and we've made some progress."

After the "Battle of the Five Pillars," she had the idea of making poisons, and after telling her sister, the two hit it off immediately.

Through conversations with Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko, they gradually figured out Muzan Kibutsuji's characteristics and abilities.

They also had plenty of demon blood, including Upper Moon, Lower Moon, and ordinary demon blood—all types.

  "Hmm..."

Aoki looked at the shuttle-shaped device in his hand, then at the syringe in Kanae Kochō's hand, and then they exchanged them.

"Alright, you two take a look and see if there's anything we can learn from this poison. Later, I'll show my friend the poison you made."

Shinobu Kochō said directly, "Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko, who exactly is your friend? Why don't you just introduce her to us?"

"Her identity is not convenient," Aoki said.

Kanae Kochō realized something and exclaimed in surprise, "Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko, could it be that your friend is also..."

She didn't finish her sentence, but Aoki understood her meaning and nodded gently.

"She really is a demon! But, to be friends with Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko, could it be..."

Kanae Kochō's mind raced, and after a moment's thought, she asked directly, "Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko, does your friend not eat people?"

Aoki replied, "Yes, she overcame the shackles of cannibalism through self-modification and only needs to drink a small amount of human blood to survive."

  Shinobu Kochō also looked surprised.

There are demons in this world that don't eat people?   Kanae Kochō smiled gently, "When Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko feels the time is right, please be sure to introduce her to us."

Aoki nodded, inwardly admiring her understanding nature.

He knew that Kanae Kochō had seen through his concerns and hadn't even mentioned a request that might put him in a difficult position.

Although Shinobu Kochō was also curious about how a demon who didn't eat people could do that, she had more important things to do now: "Can we begin now?"

  "Alright, let's begin!"

  Aoki said.

Under the moonlight, the two stood facing each other.

Kanae Kochō, Kanao Tsuyuri, and Aoi Kanzaki, who had finished her work, sat in a row as audience members.

Shinobu Kochō drew her weapon from her waist and twirled it.

Her sword was very special; it was long and thin, without a blade, and had a barb at the tip.

In other words, it couldn't be used for slashing, only for thrusting.

"Be careful. While researching the poison for Muzan Kibutsuji, I also concocted several new poisons. So far, none of the demons we've encountered have lasted more than 5 seconds!" Shinobu Kochō warned earnestly.

"I'm looking forward to it!" Aoki said.

Shinobu Kochō stared at him for two seconds, then suddenly thrust out her long sword: "Dance of the Bee Fangs, True Strike!"

  "Faster than last time!"

Aoki commented inwardly, tilting his head slightly as the tip of his sword grazed Shinobu Kochō's face.

"Dance of the Dragonfly, Hexagonal Compound Eyes!"

"Dance of the Centipede, Centipede Belly!"

Shinobu Kochō's eyes remained unwavering as her attacks came one after another like a storm.

Aoki strolled leisurely, his movements swift and agile.

Kanae Kochō's expression grew increasingly serious as she watched.

"Shinobu's strength has improved rapidly. Combined with poison, she could easily kill a Lower Moon."

In other words, she was now capable of becoming a Pillar.

  However,

Kanae Kochō murmured, "Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko has become terrifying." This

  wasn't personal emotion.

It was the instinctive fear of the weak facing the strong.

In her eyes, the former Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko was like an insurmountable mountain; though unreachable, at least the summit was visible.

The current Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko, however, was like an unreachable sky, its vastness and distance unknown, reaching a completely different dimension.

As a witness, Shinobu Kochō was utterly horrified. Even though she was the one attacking, she felt increasingly powerless and hopeless.

Suddenly, her opponent vanished. Without hesitation, Shinobu leaned back, her long sword flashing, thrusting backward.

  However, she only struck air.

Aoki appeared to the side, raising his hand and gently patting Shinobu Kochō's abdomen.

Smack!   Shinobu Kochō slumped heavily to the ground, instinctively rubbing her bottom.

  Ouch!   "That's enough!"

  Aoki held out his hand.

Shinobu Kochō had no objection, took his hand, and stood up, her face filled with resentment: "I thought I could at least get a chance to touch you this time!"

"You should have said so earlier, I could have gone easy on you," Aoki said.      "No need!"

Shinobu Kochō snorted coldly, her fighting spirit renewed. "One day, I'll hurt you with my own strength!"

"Yeah, having dreams is a good thing, keep it up!" Aoki said.

  Shinobu Kochō glared at him.

Kanae Kochō walked towards the two of them. "Shinobu, your strength has improved a lot recently."

Aoki nodded. "Indeed, your attack speed has surpassed most Pillars."

Actually, Shinobu Kochō's attack speed and movement speed were quite excellent, but they couldn't sustain it.

In other words, she had plenty of burst damage but lacked endurance.

This was determined by her innate physical condition.

However, with these advantages, it was enough for her to become a Pillar.

Shinobu Kochō raised her long sword. "What a pity, I wanted to test the effects of this poison I concocted."

  "What's so difficult about that?"

Aoki snatched her long sword and aimed it at his palm.

  "Wait!"

  Shinobu Kochō hadn't finished speaking.

  Thud!

As soon as she finished speaking, the long sword pierced Aoki's palm.

"You're too reckless. What if something really happened?"

Shinobu Kochō snatched back the long sword and complained.

"There aren't many poisons left in this world that can kill me,"

  Aoki said, opening his palm.

Under everyone's gaze, the wound on his palm healed instantly, but the surrounding skin turned purple, slowly spreading outwards. Before reaching the edge of his palm, the purple quickly faded, returning to normal in the blink of an eye.

The air fell silent for a moment.

"It didn't work at all," Shinobu Kochō said dejectedly.

Aoki said, "Don't be discouraged. This poison should be quite effective against Lower Moons!"

  This wasn't just consolation.

His physique was now comparable to Muzan Kibutsuji's; for it to have any effect on him was already quite good.

Shinobu Kochō's spirits lifted slightly: "What about Upper Moons?"

"Upper Moons?" Aoki carefully chose his words: "If you encounter an Upper Moon, my advice is to run away as quickly as possible!"

  Crack!

Shinobu sheathed her sword. "It's okay to just say I'm definitely no match for an Upper Moon demon."

Kanae said softly, "Shinobu, the strength of an Upper Moon demon is on a completely different level from other demons."

Shinobu, however, thought of another question, her brows furrowing slightly. "Will the poison we made be effective against Muzan Kibutsuji?"

Kanae didn't know the answer to this question either.

  The two looked at Aoki.

Aoki thought for a moment and said, "Poison alone can't kill Muzan Kibutsuji, but it can weaken his strength."

Of course, even weakening him would be difficult.

Shinobu's poison had little effect on Doma; it would be broken down in the blink of an eye, ultimately leaving him only able to feed on the demon.

Muzan Kibutsuji was far more powerful than Doma.

Most poisons in the world would probably be broken down before they could even have a chance to take effect in his body.

Shinobu asked, "Can the poison made by your doctor friend do that?"

"Although I haven't tried it yet, it should be possible," Aoki said frankly.

"I really want to see who she is," Shinobu murmured, her expression changing.

  Aoki remained silent.

In terms of medical skills alone, Kanae and Shinobu were no match for Tamayo.

Tamayo, after all, had hundreds of years of accumulated experience.

Their advantage lay in the full support of the Demon Slayer Corps; their medical equipment and medicines were far superior to Tamayo's, who was working alone.

This was also part of their medical expertise.

The same applied to the development of poisons.

Tamayo had prepared and researched for centuries, and her understanding of Muzan far surpassed that of Kanae and Shinobu.
