Chapter 94 - Chapter 96 The Jade Pot Appears

Chapter 96 The Jade Pot Appears

After bidding farewell to Uzui Tengen, Aoki went to find the other Pillars

one by one. Although there was no longer any need to fight, seeing the expectant expressions on their faces, he still took pity on them and gave them a good beating.

Then, amidst the Pillars' satisfied yet regretful expressions, he took away the spatial imprint.

  Butterfly Mansion.

Ripples spread through the space as Aoki emerged from the void. Knock knock knock.

  As soon as

he landed, there was a rapid knocking at the door.

"Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko, Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko, are you back?"

Aoki went over and opened the door, where Kanae Kochō came into view.

"Miss Kanae, you've come at just the right time. I just got back."

"Not at all!" Kanae shook her head. "I've been here several times already."

Aoki looked at her anxious expression and asked, "What happened?"

Kanae's tone was serious. "We've found traces of Gyokko!"

"Gyokko?" Aoki's spirits lifted. This was a big surprise. "Where is he?"

Kanae quickly replied, "According to the intelligence from the team members, Gyokko appeared at a small pier on the southern coast not long ago."

  "And now?"

  "Uncertain."

"Uncertain? What about the team member who found Gyokko?"

Kanae's expression was slightly heavy. "He's been killed. The news was relayed by Kasugai Crow!"

  Aoki wasn't surprised.

Although Gyokko was known as the shame of the Upper Moons, he still wielded considerable power against the White Pillars, and ordinary team members, once discovered by him, had almost no chance of survival.

"Where is the pier where Gyokko appeared before?" he asked.

Although Gyokko ranked second to last among the Upper Moons, he was cruel and arrogant.

Aside from Muzan Kibutsuji, Gyokko looks down on everyone else. Although his whereabouts have been exposed, he may not necessarily go far.

  Kanae Kochō gave a location.

  "There!"

  Aoki's brow relaxed slightly.

  Thankfully,

there was a spatial imprint he'd left nearby; he could get there quickly.

  But...

did Gyokko still prefer the seaside?

Before becoming a demon, Gyokko lived in a fishing village on the coast, enjoying collecting the bones of dead fish. His parents were fishermen, and his life was inextricably linked to the ocean.

After becoming a demon, his Blood Demon Art also had a close connection to fish and the sea.

The obsessions from his human days have a huge influence on demons; even Upper Moon demons can't escape this constraint.

This was a point he'd overlooked before.

Did other Upper Moon demons have this habit?

If so, where did Kokushibo and Hantengu frequently appear?

These thoughts flashed through Aoki's mind, but he didn't delve deeper.

Catching Gyokko was more important now; he could deal with Hantengu and Kokushibo later.

Aoki took out a bunch of spatial imprints—some wooden plaques, some parchment—all portable, and all easily destroyed.

"Miss Kanae, please give these to the head of the Ubuyashiki family so he can distribute them to suitable members of the 00 team."

He had originally planned to go himself, but seeing that Ubuyashiki Kagaya was rather troublesome,

and the longer it dragged on, the lower the chance of finding the jewel.

He could only entrust them to Kanae.

Fortunately, it didn't make much difference.

The plan had already been set, and the preparations had been proceeding in an orderly manner.

Whether he met with Ubuyashiki Kagaya or not wouldn't have much of an impact.

"Okay!" Kochō Kanae didn't waste any words and quickly accepted the spatial imprint.

Aoki then instructed, "You can leave a copy at the Butterfly House. If there are any new developments, tear it up immediately and notify me."

  "I understand!" Kochō Kanae said.

"Then I'll go first," Aoki said.

Just then, Shinobu Kochō stepped forward: "Take me with you."

Aoki glanced at her, didn't hesitate, and nodded: "Okay!"

Shinobu now possessed the strength of a Pillar.

Even if she encountered Gyokko, she could hold out for a while.

If it were a battle, she certainly wouldn't need to participate.

However, the main task now was searching, so the more people the better.

And they had to be people with considerable strength like Shinobu Kochō.

Ordinary people would be killed by Gyokko upon first encounter, so there was no point.

"Shinobu, be careful! If you encounter Gyokko, don't be reckless, immediately seek help from Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko."

  Kanae Kochō's expression was serious.

  This was no small matter.

Facing an Upper Moon, even a Pillar would be in mortal danger.

As her older sister, she didn't want her younger sister to participate in such a dangerous operation, but as a member of the Demon Slayer Corps, she had no reason to persuade Shinobu to give up.

The only saving grace was that Shinobu was going to be with Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko this time.

  "Don't worry, sister!"

Shinobu Kochō said earnestly. With a powerful helper, she wouldn't rely on him and insist on being reckless; she wouldn't risk her life like that.

Aoki grabbed Shinobu's arm, nodded to Kanae, and the two vanished instantly.

Kanae stood there for a moment, then turned and left.

She also had a very important mission today; otherwise, she would have gone with Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko and Shinobu.

  ...

The seawater tirelessly pounded against the rocks, making a splashing sound, and a faint fishy smell filled the air.

  Two figures appeared silently.

Shinobu looked bewildered, but quickly recovered, her expression changing, her eyes filled with astonishment.

  "Is this spatial teleportation?"

She felt a blur before her eyes, less than a second later, and she was on the beach from the Butterfly Mansion.

This instantaneous change of world was more breathtaking than she had imagined.

Aoki ignored Shinobu's reaction and gazed into the distance.

The seawater was pitch black at night, the surging waves like an abyss swallowing everything, completely devoid of the beauty and elegance of the daytime.

A small village sat on the shore ahead, next to a small pier with several fishing boats moored.

The village was brightly lit, yet utterly silent, creating an eerie atmosphere.

Shinobu's attention shifted from Aoki to the strange village in the distance.

  "Is that where Gyokko appeared?"

Aoki nodded. "It should be there."

Shinobu asked, "Why can't we hear a sound?"

Aoki remained silent, his expression grim.

Shinobu suddenly understood, her body trembling, her expression turning grim as she stared at Aoki in disbelief.

"The smell of blood! A very strong smell of blood!" Aoki exclaimed.

Shinobu's hands clenched slowly, her eyes blazing with fury. "Did Gyokko kill everyone in the village?"

Aoki didn't answer, but instead said, "You stay here for now."

"No! I want to go with you!" Shinobu looked at him resolutely.

  "Alright then!"

Aoki glanced at her, saying nothing more.

  Whoosh!

Giant bat wings unfurled, he scooped up Shinobu, flapped his wings, and the two soared into the sky, rapidly flying towards the small coastal village.
