Chapter 6 - 7. Initial Film Settlement

The next morning, at the video store.

After a hearty breakfast, Rin and the three from Cunning Hares sat in a row in the workshop, celebrating the success of their first mission.

"Nicole, these are the spoils I brought back yesterday," Anby said, eating a hamburger and placing her bulging backpack on the table.

"Wow, Anby, you're amazing! Nicole and I only got two pistols from Gin and Vodka, but you managed to get so many things. That's incredible!"

Billy eagerly unboxed the backpack, taking out two sniper rifles and a silver Luger pistol, admiring them.

Nicole looked at the remaining clothes and was stunned. She thought, Anby really did "pluck the feathers from a passing goose," bringing back even Korn and Chianti's clothes.

She had only been speaking figuratively.

But Anby had already done it, and she didn't want to dampen Anby's enthusiasm, so she decided to hang these items on the internet later to see if they could be sold.

She praised, "Well done! Anby, you truly are our Cunning Hares's model employee."

Anby remained expressionless, but a blush appeared on her face, and she ate her hamburger a little faster, indicating she was in a good mood.

Praised, will do it again next time. jpg

Rin smiled slightly and opened Fairy's system interface.

When she saw the number of filin displayed by the system, her pupils instantly dilated, and her mouth slightly opened.

[25600 Film (160 draws)]

"How is there so much?" Rin could hardly believe it and quickly clicked on the emotion value source page for exchanging filin.

[Main Emotion Value Sources:

Gin (high-intensity sustained anger/humiliation/vigilance), obtained 90 draws.

Renya Karasuma (extreme shock/anxiety), obtained 30 draws.

Vodka (intense shame/fear), obtained 15 draws.

Chianti (extreme humiliation/anger), obtained 7 draws.

Bourbon (deep shock/confusion), obtained 6 draws.

Korn (intense shame/frustration), obtained 1 draw.

Rum (happy/joyful), obtained 5 draws...]

Looking at the detailed breakdown, Ling scratched her short blue hair, still a bit confused.

Didn't they just give Gin and Vodka some ancestral laxatives? Why did these people react so strongly?

Although it was a laxative meant for elephants, and just smelling it would make a person have diarrhea all night, even if Gin and Vodka had severe stomach issues, it shouldn't cause so many people to have such abnormal emotional fluctuations, right?

Did they poop in someone else's bowl?

Also, why did Renya Karasuma, the leader of the Black Organization, also contribute so much Film?

Is it really necessary for him to care so much about Gin and Vodka having an upset stomach?

Rin shook her head, if she couldn't figure it out, she wouldn't think about it.

"Time to draw cards! 160 draws, all of them!"

Rin rubbed her hands, her eyes sparkling.

The Film rapidly depleted, and the system interface began to flicker.

The first purple light flashed:

[Obtained: A-rank Agent - Anton Ivanov]

Rin's spirits lifted. "A good start! It's Anton!"

However, the subsequent lights were all dull gray.

[Obtained: Antimony-rank Common Ihai x1]

[Obtained: Antimony-rank Common Ihai x1]

...The same prompts densely filled the screen.

Rin's heart sank little by little, her excitement replaced by numbness.

A full 158 draws were all these drab "Antimony-rank Common Ihai"!

There was no second Agent, no Bangboo, not even a decent item card.

"This broken system... doesn't even have a pity timer? Even a General Chop would be good."

Rin looked at the last remaining draw, no longer holding any hope, and casually clicked it.

Buzz—!

A golden light flashed, causing Rin to instinctively squint her eyes.

[Obtained: S-rank Agent - Ellen!]

"Ellen!" Ling almost jumped up, her previous gloom swept away, "I didn't expect the last draw to be gold. It was worth it!"

Looking at Anton and Ellen in the summon list, and the long queue of 158 Antimony-rank Common Ihai.

Rin chose to summon only Anton and Ellen.

She looked at the pile of Ihai, asking Fairy with some disdain, "Fairy, what are these common Ihai for? They seem pretty useless."

Fairy immediately responded.

[Antimony-rank Common Ihai, in the perception of ordinary people, will be regarded as silent, vaguely-faced ordinary 'corporate drones.' The identity automatically assigned by the system is: illegal laborers from outside the country (undocumented).

Advantages: No need to eat, no need to sleep, no fatigue, absolute obedience to commands. Disadvantages: Low intelligence, can only perform simple, repetitive tasks.]

"Undocumented... illegal laborers... no need to eat or sleep?" Rin's eyes lit up. "These are practically perpetual motion workhorses! If we put them all to work assembling screws, we could make a lot of money, right?"

Two beams of light condensed into form in the room.

Anton Ivanov, dressed in a sharp suit, stood 1.9 meters tall with a towering hairstyle, almost touching the ceiling.

Ellen wore a JK uniform, sucking on a lollipop, her shark tail wagging behind her.

"Proxy." Anton nodded slightly, his voice resonant.

"Welcome to the Conan-verse. From now on, we are all partners. You've all learned about the situation here from Fairy, haven't you?"

Rin shook hands with Anton and Ellen one by one.

Ellen nodded at Rin, then hugged her shark tail, cautiously saying, "Rin, you keep staring at my tail. Even if you're Rin, you can't touch my tail."

"Hehe, you caught me."

Rin gave two guilty laughs.

Is my gaze that obvious?

The shark girl's tail is really intriguing.

After talking, Rin learned about their identities in this world.

Anton was the acting president of the construction company Belobog Heavy Industries.

Ellen was a new transfer student in Class 2-B at Teitan High School, who had just arrived in Beika Town.

"Teitan High School Class 2-B, isn't that Kudo Shinichi's class? Good, this way we can easily get closer to the main characters. Then, by teasing Conan, the Film will just keep rolling in."

Rin wiped away non-existent drool from the corner of her mouth, then looked at Anton, her eyes full of envy.

"Anton, you're so lucky, acting president of Belobog Heavy Industries, a rich man. All our organization's expenses will depend on you then."

"Proxy, no, Rin."

Anton looked at Rin's expression, remembered that she had told him to call her by her name, and immediately corrected himself, a hint of helplessness on his face.

"I can't really be considered a rich man. Belobog Heavy Industries is currently just a registered name, just an empty shell. It only has one office, no workers under me, is heavily in debt, has almost no funds in its account, and is on the verge of bankruptcy."

"Uh... is that so?"

Rin's excitement cooled a bit, but she immediately had an idea.

"It doesn't matter! We have startup capital! We just got 100 million yen, you can take half of it for now.

And that Maple Leaf Gold Coin, although I don't know its exact location, I'm sure we can get it by following Conan, and I'll give that to you as well.

Belobog Heavy Industries should be able to develop then."

"Oh, right!"

Rin slapped her thigh again, remembering the 158 drab avatars in the system.

"Those Antimony-rank Ihai I drew, let them all follow you too. No wages, no fatigue, and they don't even need to eat. With workers like that, if you still can't get Belobog Heavy Industries up and running, then there truly would be no justice."

Anton's eyes lit up, and he thumped his chest, assuring her, "That's great! Leave it to me. With these Ihai workers, I guarantee I'll develop Baizhi Heavy Industries!"

Rin then looked at Ellen, rubbing her hands, "Ellen, your identity is a transfer student, just arrived in Beika. You probably don't have a place to stay yet, right? Why don't you stay at my video store? We can tell people you're my distant cousin, staying here temporarily."

Ellen was too lazy to rent a place anyway, so she nodded gently, "Okay."

"Hehe."

Rin smiled with half-moon eyes.

Round shark, your tail won't escape...

After everything was arranged, Rin had just breathed a sigh of relief when a prompt suddenly popped up on Fairy's interface.

[Intercepted "Shinichi Kudo / Conan Edogawa" intense emotional fluctuation, extreme shame, Film continuously being acquired...]

"Huh?" Rin froze, completely bewildered. "What happened to Conan again? Such a big emotional fluctuation? We haven't even done anything to him yet, have we?"
