Chapter 2 - Lodan's Strength

"Dragons sure are cocky, I've fought an earth dragonhatchling before, but your strength is on whole another level." Lodan claims as he unsheathes his sword from it's scabbard quickly pointing it at Kalila.

"You dare point your weapon in front of me!" Kalila furiously released her aura.

To her suprise Lodan barely flinched, that's when Kalila noticed.

Lodan's Strength was not normal but extraordinary.

"Did you kill the earth dragon hatchling?" Kalila's bright attitude faded as she asked, Lodan notices the slight change in the atmosphere.

"Heh, I'll tell you if you fight with your full strength, I can't miss an opportunity of fighting an adult dragon can I?" Lodan smirks as he engulfed his sword with flames and sword aura.

"Are you what they call sword master?" Kalila questioned.

"I did reach that level years ago, but im way further than sword master now."

With no second thoughts, Lodan and Kalila charged at each other, whilst Mina ran to a safer location as a huge impact destroyed the surrounding buildings.

"Kalila, you underestimated humans! You didn't expect to see a human who reached the peak of master class did you!?" Lodan chuckled as he throws barrage of slashes but were all deflected by Kalila's scales that were as hard as diamond.

Shortly after 10 minutes of clashing, Lodan noticed that Kalila was calm and infact, Kalila wasn't even sweating as she yawns while dodging his moves.

Lodan was suprised but quickly regained composure and backed off to charge his strongest attack.

"Let's see if you can still relax after this one." Lodan charged his sword and infused his mana onto the blade, finally Lodan was in a stance ready to throw a devastating attack, Kalila allowed it as she wants to see the attack he thinks can injure a dragon.

"Hurry up and show me already." Kalila said while she picked her nose, her expression were relaxed rather than a cautious look.

"Fine." Lodan flew to the sky, his jump was too high that it seemed like he flew to the sky.

Lodan used his skill [Magnet shock] as the Powerful force drew Kalila unintentionally closer, and the chance was there Lodan finally released his charged attack, Kalila suddenly felt something.

Something she never experienced before, it was fear.

Kalila instinctively dodged the attack out of fear,

Thus the attack she dodged hit the tip of the nearby mountain and eradicating it completely, dust was left and the black lightning that was left engulfed the mountain's surrounding with unending explosions.

"Damn it, and here I thought a dragon wouldn't dodge a human's attack."

Lodan was hopeless, his trump card was exposed yet it didn't even hit the target. Lodan fell to his knees however his will hadn't knelt down yet.

Kalila smiles and appears in front of him instantly, Lodan was shocked and fell on his back. He looked at Kalila as he finally realized how much of a terror dragons truly are.

"Be proud human! You almost killed me!" Kalila proudly claims.

"W-what? Shut up and just kill me!" Lodan accepted his loss and fate.

Kalila looks at Lodan closely and tries to guess where Lodan's Strength comes from.

"How did you get so strong without dragon mana that naturally grows with time?" Kalila curiously asks Lodan who was heavily exhausted.

"As if a dragon can understand what I had gone through" Lodan spits on Kalila's face. Kalila was shocked and tries to remove the spit on her cheeks.

"HEY WHAT WAS THAT FOR!" Kalila furiously smacks Lodan's head to the ground causing Lodan to lose consciousness.

"He's more fragile than he looks, his face is as intimidating as a orge yet he's just a fragile glass with strong magic." Kalila smiles softly as if fate brought her here.

This is truly weird why do I feel like fate doesn't affect this human? Kalila thoughts to herself, Lodan was a strange fellow, it was as if he didn't belong to this world,Kalila felt like if she had killed Lodan something that will affect the past, present and future will change.

Kalila picks up Lodan's arm and drags his body until she gets to the closest inn.

She happily entered the first inn she only heard about on books.

Inside was full of smokes and smell of liquors, men with ragged old clothes.

They were armed with various kinds of weapons.

"Is this place a resting inn for adventurers?" Kalila ponders.

She quietly enters the inn and asks for a room as she brings out a bag of gold coins, shocking the lady who's eye is full of greed.

Seeing the costomer looked underage as Kalila looked like a little kid in her human form since she's basically a teenager in dragon years, the lady smirked.

"Ara~ you don't have enough for a room but since you're a little cutie I'll accept give you the best room in the inn." the inn keeper graciously took the bag of gold as she hands over the room key, the bandit looking men looked at the golds sparking a goal in their eyes.

" Thank you kind miss hehe!" In a hurry Kalila kindly thanks the inn keeper and barged onto the 2nd floor entering the spacious room, though she was dissatisfied. "The room I had back in the tribe was bigger but I'll take it."

She throws Lodan on the large bed and quickly laid down beside him to rest.

"Woah he has 6 pieces of bread on his stomach." Kalila lays down her head on top of Lodan's chest and fell asleep, 6 hours passed when Lodan woke up to see Kalila on top of him.

"Crazy lizard. " Lodan gently pushes kalila onto the side and he sits on the bed corner, he suddenly felt presence around the room.

"Atleast 15, what trouble did this lizard cause." he mutters as he picks up his sword, the 15 bandits hidden noticed and they attacked unguarded Kalila.

However Lodan sliced all of them in half with a single motion.

Lodan went to Kalila and tenderly cradled her as he goes down the stairs,

he caressed her hair and smelled it, and then he had already left the inn while carrying Kalila.

Lodan gently puts Kalila on the carriage.

"With her power, the future can be changed" he held her hands smirking.

Whilst the carriage was moving he laid Kalila's head on his lap.

Lodan's servant who was watching the whole time was utterly shocked.

The lord he thought was gay is actually caring for a girl.

"Wait, milord she looks underaged!" the servant panickedly questioned

"It's not what you think." Lodan stated.

The servant looked at Lodan suspiciously but just stayed quiet.

"Ah, lord Lodan we have arrived at your estate." the servant announces.

Just when Lodan was about to carry Kalila, she woke up and stretched her arms yawning then looked around the unfamiliar surroundings.

"Huh, hey Lodan where is this?" Kalila asked curious about the current location.

"This is my house, it's nothing much." Lodan shrugs as he carries Kalila anyways which shocks Kalila.

"Do you have to carry me? Im older than you so don't treat me like I'm a kid!"

Kalila furiously smacks Lodan's head and landed perfectly on the ground.

"Ohh! You have a pretty big home yourself." Kalila was impressed by the beautiful and well made architecture so much that she was completely enticed.

"Let me ask you something ." Lodan pats Kalila's shoulder.

"What is it?" Kalila faced Lodan and tilts her head.

"How old are you?" Lodan asks.

"Im 319 years old, I'm turning 320 in 10 days though." Kalila brightly smiles as she barges in and breaks the gate.

Lodan simply shrugs the fact that a hatchling dragon was way stronger than your average hatchling dragon and walks along with Kalila, "so... What is a mighty golden dragon such as yourself doing in such an environment? Plus, noble golden dragons ceased to exist 600 years ago."

"I can't tell you since it's forbidden to tell our tribe's matters to outsiders, but I'll tell you one thing for sure! I came here to have fun!" Kalila's carefree attitude impressed Lodan.

"I could tell your journey will be really fun. Follow me I'll fill you in with the current situation, since you were probably isolated from the human world for so long that I wouldn't live out those years." Lodan leads Kalila into a spacious and yellowish-orange tinted hall.

" Woah, it's a very colorful lair. " Kalila ran in circles around the room, full of excitement. Lodan went upstairs and took a old looking sword judging from the scabbard full of dirt and dust it seemed like an ancient sword relic.

Kalila was quickly devastated by the presence of the sword.

"That sword, where did you get it!?" Kalila furiously asked as she backed away.

"I guess a dragon can easily notice the unknown presence of the sword... You're right, this sword is an origin class sword relic from an unknown craftsman." Lodan sternly answered.
