Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Arsenal, with its worrying defense

After the display of affection ended.

The match restarted.

Although they conceded a goal less than 10 minutes into the match, the AC Milan players didn't seem to care.

After all, to put it simply, it was just a friendly match.

Winning or losing wasn't important at all!

Only someone like Fly, who came with a system mission, would be so serious.

However, this attitude from the AC Milan players was exactly what Fly wanted.

Yes, just like this!

If AC Milan got serious, how could Fly easily complete his mission?

To put it simply, it was a friendly match.

If it weren't for it being Fly's first-team debut and the system rewards.

He wouldn't have been so serious; he would have just played casually.

In the following 20 minutes.

AC Milan also created two good scoring opportunities.

One was Ronaldinho taking a free kick near the box and sending it to Thiago Silva inside the area, whose header went slightly wide.

Another was Seedorf's long-range shot from the top of the box, which grazed the right post.

Arsenal also had an opportunity.

After a one-two between Fabregas and Wilshere, they followed up with a through ball forward.

Fly once again used his footballing ceiling-level speed to shake off Seedorf beside him.

Facing the defensive cooperation of Nesta and Bonera, Fly directly passed the ball to the overlapping Clichy.

Clichy struck the ball with a low drive as it came to him, and Fly's strike partner Arshavin reacted quickly to shoot, but the ball unfortunately flew over the crossbar.

For the rest of the time, the two teams played with great understanding.

AC Milan weren't rushing to attack despite being behind, and Arsenal, being in the lead, naturally didn't mind wasting time with AC Milan.

Arsène Wenger and Allegri were also very relaxed in the technical area, with their arms around each other, emphasizing harmony.

As the halftime whistle sounded.

Halftime ended, with Arsenal temporarily leading AC Milan 1-0 thanks to Fly's goal.

Since he had been mostly coasting in the first half.

Fly wasn't really tired after playing the first half.

However, Arsène Wenger still came over to check on him, and after learning that Fly felt good, he didn't say anything more.

After 15 minutes, the second half began.

In the second half, Arsène Wenger directly brought on Van Persie and Walcott, replacing the Spaniard Fabregas and the Russian Arshavin, who had just finished the World Cup final less than three weeks prior.

Arsenal's formation changed from 4-4-2 to 4-3-3, with Fly playing as the left winger, Van Persie as the center forward, and Xiao Hu Walcott as the right winger.

AC Milan, on the other hand, remained largely unchanged. Anyway, in the recently concluded South Africa World Cup, most AC Milan players didn't make it to the final stages.

This meant that the current AC Milan players didn't need much rest.

The top priority was to quickly regain their form, which had dipped after indulging during the off-season, using the friendly match.

In the 48th minute of the match.

AC Milan's forward Pato received the ball on the right flank in the attacking half and dribbled inwards.

When Clichy pressed forward to challenge, Pato quickly laid the ball back to Pirlo.

Pirlo played a first-time pass, lofting the ball to Ronaldinho on the left flank.

After receiving the ball, Ronaldinho played a low cross, sending the ball into the dangerous area about fifteen yards from the goal.

Vermaelen quickly attempted to clear, but Borriello got there first and nudged the ball.

However, under pressure from Koscielny, Borriello didn't have time to adjust his body for a proper shot and was forced to use his knee to strike the ball.

The original trajectory of the ball after the strike was straight into the goalkeeper's arms, posing no threat.

However, by chance, it grazed Vermaelen's thigh, changing its direction, and the ball bounced towards the goalkeeper's left.

At this moment, Pato, who had made a run into the right side of the box without the ball, met the bouncing ball with a push shot, and it went into the net without suspense.

"GOOOOOOOAL!!!"

"Number 7, Pato!!!"

"After Arsenal's talented player Fly scored, the 2009 Golden Boy Award winner, Brazilian talent Pato, was not to be outdone and helped AC Milan equalize."

Seeing this goal conceded, Fly shook his head helplessly.

It has to be said, compared to their attack, Arsenal's defense was indeed lacking.

Koscielny can now be considered a top-class European defender, but the High Priest Vermaelen's current form has declined compared to the previous two seasons.

Although Fly wasn't sure when Vermaelen would turn into the High Priest who constantly lay on the sickbed giving other players health buffs.

But he figured it wouldn't be long now.

Thinking about Arsenal's defense being without a key player for a long time due to injury, Fly couldn't help but feel a headache.

Arsenal has really been unlucky in recent years!

As for giving Vermaelen a reminder to avoid injury.

Only an idiot would do something like that. Vermaelen would probably think Fly was cursing him.

If he really got injured then, he might even blame Fly.

Fly definitely wouldn't do such a thankless task!

Shaking his head, Fly couldn't be bothered to think so much anymore. Focusing on this match was the priority.

After all, if he didn't win the match, the four rewards would instantly become two, a huge loss!

Especially the bonus reward of 100 Advanced Soft Rice Points, Fly needed them too much.

After all, Fly really couldn't improve ability values of 90 or higher without relying on points.

His physical talent was limited; no matter how much he trained, it wouldn't help!

Through match accumulation and hard training over the years, Fly could only raise his ability value to around 75 without relying on system points.

Going higher than that was basically impossible.

What did a rating of 75 mean?

China's later 'number one brother', Wu Lei, was roughly around this number during his peak.

Maybe slightly higher by two or three points, but definitely not a difference in class.

In other words, the body Fly possessed after transmigrating had a football talent level roughly equivalent to Wu Lei's.

At worst, slightly weaker, but definitely a player of the same tier.

From this point, it could be seen that Fly's football talent in this life was indeed high enough!

Don't think that having football talent on the same level as Wu Lei means it's garbage!

Wu Lei is, after all, the all-time top scorer for the National Football Team and the single-season goal record holder in the Chinese Super League.

At his peak, his ability was stronger than 95% of foreign players in the Chinese Super League!

Applied to the National Football Team of later generations, he was purely a foreign-player level combatant!

Fly possessing similar football talent to Wu Lei already shows that even without a cheat, Fly had the ability to play professional football.

Perhaps he couldn't establish himself in the European top 5 leagues, but playing as a starter for mid-to-lower table teams in European second-tier Leagues like the Portuguese Primeira Liga or the Dutch League would be no problem.

His annual salary could also reach a million euros, which wasn't bad at all!

However, in this life, with the added boost from his cheat, if Fly still couldn't become the GOAT of football, then he would have truly lived in vain.
