Chapter 9 - Disciple greets Master!

"This is?" Wang Li looked at the vegetation cover growing everywhere with confusion.

This place had no resemblance to peak of the sect. It appeared like some abandoned old temple in the mountains.

But seeing the woman standing before him, acting as though this was normal, he could only swallow his words.

After a few minutes of silence, Wang Lu finally lost her usual teasing expression.

"You are wondering why I decided to take you as a disciple?" She asked as she gave him a deep look.

Sensing her change he nodded seriously.

Clearly he heard the meaning behind her words. She wanted to take him as a disciple, rather than him being a disciple on her peak.

There was a vast difference between the two.

The disciples that had been selected to enter the nine peaks were just considered to have an identity of that peak behind them.

The peak master could change but that identity couldn't. Once the peak master left, they would have no connections with those disciples.

Being a disciple of a peak master was different. One was considered even closer than family. In the cultivation world, the way a master treated their disciples was far even better than their own descendants.

So for selection if disciples, it was a very strick process and hearing she wanted to accept him as a disciple, he couldn't guess why.

He looked at her with a puzzled expression.

He had no connections with this woman. For her to show interest in him was also doubtful.

He didn't hold back his questions and asked, "Why?"

Indeed! Why?

In the Spirit Stream Sect, Wang Li didn't think his talent was the best. Besides, he hadn't been in the sect long, as such something didn't add up.

"Not bad!" She looked at him and her expression lost her previous seriousness.

She waved her hand, causing the vegetion around to wither and fly away as dust.

Taking a step forward, she reached a raised staircase and sat down, exposing her white thighs.

Even Wang Li suspected she did it on purpose.

He had to raise his head, as to avoid seeing what he shouldn't.

"Your technique is something you made from combination of numerous techniques right?" She suddenly asked something that caught him off guard.

He didn't think it was necessary to hide this. He nodded lightly.

But even so, this seemed far from enough to just accept him as a disciple.

"Personally, I also took the path of fusing remnants from ancient inheritances. Naturally this alone isn't enough for me to take you as a disciple. I can sense that you are different from me. You probably wouldn't care weather it is an ancient or new techniques as long as they made you strong. Perhaps in the future you might be helpful to me. Others can't, but you can!" She spoke and smiled slightly.

It was a smile capable of topling a city, but Wang Li looked at her without much ripples in his eyes.

She smilled helplessly and said, "I have endless suppy of resources and techniques Ancient and modern for you to choose from..."

Before she could even finish her words, he was already kowtowing to her.

"Disciple meets master!"

Wang Lu finally realized her disciple was just as shameless as her.

He wasn't moved in the slighest by her sincerity or philosophy. But the moment she mentioned resources and techniques, he folded so fast.

After three kowtows, she helplessly accepted this fate.

"Alright! Good disciple!" With a wave of her hand, a force Wang Li couldn't refuse lifted him up.

Looking him up, and down, she couldn't tell why but he had changed.

Even the way he looked at her was strange. He was actually smilling carefree.

"Is this really not a replica of myself?" She complained secretly.

"Good Disciple! You are probably planning on becoming a martial artist right?" She asked as she looked at him.

He felt as though he had been seen through by that gaze.

"Actually what do you really understand about breaking through to the martial arts realm?" She asked a question.

He indeed had no idea, he only knew it was a bottleneck.

He replied honestly.

"Disciple has no idea!"

"Then I'll give you some idea. For the rest you should visit the library. After you have truly stepped into the Martial arts realm, then ask me for the ancient techniques as for earth grade techniques you should visit the library. With my token, you can take seven of them unlike the three provided by the sect to other peak disciples." She smilled as she spoke.

"Okay! Let me give you some summary. For one to become a Martial artist, they have to pry open the genesis gate hidden in their body. That is what is referred to as a bottleneck. Once open, many limitations on your body will disappear." Wang Lu said.

Looking at her, he was confused.

"How to locate the gate?" This was important to him.

"You obviously require external aid or else with your own efforts, it is futile. If you even succeed on your own, then your future path ends there." She replied.

"What is this external help?" He was curious.

"Well! Its the essence blood of either strong experts or Divine Beasts." She replied after a slight pause.

"Strong experts or divine beasts!" Hearing this he exclaimed with a helpless expression.

"What is with your expression? Did I ask you to look for them yourself? Just go and get ready, after you are done inform me. I'll get you the external help!" She scolded him lightly.

Wang Li smilled at this, and didn't get angry.

She threw him a token.

"That should allow you to view seven earth grade inheritances. If I were you, I'd focus on becoming a martial artist fast as many opportunities in the sect start from this stage." She adviced.

Wang Li's gaze focused as he seemed to recal something.

'The plot is indeed about to begin. The main character is about to show up on the scene. I have to move quick too.' he took Wang Lu's advice seriously.

"By the way! Earth grade techniques are intent oriented and not easy to grasp. Best be prepared before going there or you might get hurt!" Wang Lu added with a slight laugh.

Hearing her words, he indeed decided to firstly cultivate the Mountain and Seas art to the pinacle first. The Earth grade techniques would also be used to elevate the level of Mountains and Seas art.

'Since I have already accomplished my goal and become a Peak disciple, there is no rush. The sect will after all give me a five year period to attempt getting into the inner sect. I still have plenty of time.' he calmed down and looked around.

Only, he didn't see where to set up his residence.

Feeling helpless, he could only chose the closest room.

It took him three hours to get rid of the plantation all around the peak.

Looking at it again, it appeared decent.

"Lets get to business!" He swt down to calm his mind, in the process the Mountain and Seas Art started to be reviewed in his mind.

When he was done he would make movements in the empty yard.

His ever changing moves shifted from complex to simple.

Without realizing it, time passed and half a year later, Wang Li that was sitting at the edge of the cliff opened his eyes just after the sun rose.

A sound of something shaking erupted from within his body.

A sharp light flickered in the depths of his eyes.

"I've finally pushed the mountain and Seas art to the pinnacle of transformation level. Treasures of heaven and earth are really miraculous. My body limit has been surpassed twice." He stood up with a smile.

Behind him mountains rose and the sea rumbled. The sun's rays reflected on the Mountains and Seas rising behind him.

Hundred meters around him was coveted by this mountain and seas phenomenon.

In the clouds, Wang Lu that had been cultivating with eyes closed opened her eyes and when they landed on the lifelike mountain and seas, she was startled.

"Intent! He has grasped intent with combination yellow level techniques! Indeed! My choice was right!" She was internally shocked but the smile on her face couldn't grow more pronounced.

She watched as the mountain and seas disappeared, while Wang Li standing in place gave off no aura. He appeared as though he had fused with heaven and earth around him.

This was the sign of returning to simplicity.

Walking down the peak, no vegetation cover remained. It had all been removed during this half a year period.

The mountain peak was completely different from when he arrived.

Compared to before, Wang Li was more composed and confident.

With each step he took forward, his will to become stronger didn't even waver in the slighest.

Before long, he was standing outside the library.

Taking a step forward, his figure passed the door and felt as though the world has changed.

The library was clearly in a separate space. When he entered he felt some force fall on the two tokens he was carrying.

His looked around and it was indeed the second floor.

Raising his head, he couldn't help but narrow his eyes.
