Chapter 3 - Outbreak

"Waaah… Daddy… Mommy…"

"It hurts… Help…"

The storm caused by the plane crash was incredibly violent, and many people were thrown to their deaths below, their eardrums shattered.

Fortunately, Ye Xin's class was on the second floor. With the third and fourth floors, and the roof above, most people weren't too badly affected. Only a few were cut by glass, and some had their eardrums ringing.

The sudden sonic boom knocked Ye Xin to the ground. He shook his head and got up, exhaling a breath.

Looking at the blood-soaked classroom, his hand, holding the Fire Sword, trembled uncontrollably.

On the first day of his transmigration, he had to face a life-or-death situation. It was impossible for Ye Xin to say he wasn't scared.

He stepped forward and swung his Fire Sword without mercy at the person who had become a Zombie.

The sharp sword light instantly sliced off the Zombie's head. Ye Xin then slashed at the second, the third…

"Who… who can tell me, what exactly happened?" A classmate knelt on the ground, covering his ears, his pupils shrinking as he watched one head after another fly through the air. He shouted in terror.

"De… devils!!!"

"Liu Hao, Wang Jie, the rest of you, don't just stand there, get out!"

Wang Yongchuan calmed down first and shouted at the students who were watching the commotion.

He really couldn't understand. Ye Xin, usually such a well-behaved person, suddenly did something so insane.

The two who were called out struggled to get up, helped up several other classmates, and fled the classroom. As soon as they reached the door, they ran into something and were knocked back a few steps.

Normally, Liu Hao would have beaten the other person up first. But right now, clutching his forehead and nose, he just wanted to curse and leave.

"Get the hell out of here!" he shouted, but then regretted it.

Because when he saw the face of the person he'd bumped into, he froze. The other person's face was covered in blood, with lifeless, gray eyes. Half of his neck looked like something had chewed it away, revealing stark white bone and still-wet blood – clearly, it had happened recently.

Even more terrifying, this person could still move, and was grinning at them.

"Drip, drip..." Blood dripped from the neck, landing on the tiles with a clear sound.

One step, two steps. The distance was less than two meters, and the pungent smell of blood filled the air.

"I want my mommy... Waaah..."

"Teacher Wang, you must be filming a TV drama, right? The cost is too high."

"We won't cause trouble in class anymore. Please don't scare us," Liu Hao said, and the others shared his uneasy feelings, trying to comfort themselves.

"…" Wang Yongchuan was silent. He wished this was just a nightmare, but the warning from the swollen cheek he touched told him it wasn't.

"Heh… a dream, right, I should have guessed it was a dream! Haha! I'm not afraid of you!" Perhaps fear had reached its breaking point; a small guy behind Liu Hao suddenly started laughing foolishly and slowly walked toward the door.

"Pfft!"

However, the Zombie was a big guy in life, and it was unlikely to bypass him.

The small guy swallowed as he passed the Zombie's side. This dream was too real.

Suddenly, his arm felt as heavy as lead, and then a mouth bit down on him, and in the chaos, he fell onto a table with the Zombie.

"Sob... it's a dream... why... it hurts so much... save me..." The small boy's chin had been bitten, and he was wailing in agony. He struggled, but the pale hand gripping him was like an iron clamp.

Liu Hao and Wang Jie snapped back to reality, realizing this was their chance to escape. As soon as the thought occurred, a petite figure darted past them, a female classmate.

"Fang Yun!"

The Zombie just glanced up at her without stopping its feast, then continued to munch on the flesh. Seeing this, Liu Hao and the others also felt the urge to flee.

"Fang Yun got away, let's rush out!"

As soon as the words left his mouth, a girl's scream echoed through the corridor. It wasn't just her; there were cries of pain and calls for help, and people were jumping down from the upper floors. Some even ran past their classroom, shouting, "Don't chase me!"

"What... what exactly is happening outside?"

Fear and confusion filled everyone's hearts.

"Those I killed were Zombies, already infected. If you want to live, get behind me!"

After dealing with ten Zombies that offered no resistance, Ye Xin felt nothing. Taking advantage of the fact that humans outnumbered them, he charged towards the School Supermarket to take refuge.

With food and water, he could survive the early days of the apocalypse no matter what. He could save his skills for later, as they weren't needed for ordinary Zombies.

As Wang Yongchuan and the others stood there, dumbfounded, Ye Xin, the alleged murderer, actually stood in front of them and mentioned Zombies.

"Zombies?"

Comparing the situation outside to what was happening now, it really was Zombies.

Ye Xin's imposing figure loomed larger and larger. Old Wang and the others' eyes moistened, deeply moved.

After being devoured, the Zombies stood up, including the small man, who also trembled as he rose.

"Just as described in the novel, the source of infection is that flash of red light. Those who see it will turn into Zombies, attacking indiscriminately. Any human bitten will also join their ranks!"

"I just don't know if there are any crystal cores to improve my strength."

The two Zombies moved very slowly. Ye Xin swung his sword with ease, like killing a chicken. Then, he turned and asked Xu Chu, who was stunned in the back of the classroom.

"Old Pig, if you don't leave now, I'm going. Don't blame your brother for not calling you." Xu Chu was a burly man who looked very honest. In Ye Xin's memory, this person had good character and could be kept around as a gofer.

"Ye...Xin...you're not crazy!?" After a series of ups and downs, Xu Chu came back to his senses, accepting the cruel reality. They were killing Zombies, so Ye Xin's actions made sense.

"Stop your nonsense, and follow me."

After Ye Xin said this, he took the lead and went to the corridor.

The corridor floor was covered in bloodstains. Bits of flesh and cells were scattered everywhere, and there were still living people being pinned down by Zombies, desperately resisting.

"Help me…" The voices called out from the resisting survivors.

Ye Xin had never considered saving them, but he would definitely chop down any Zombies blocking his path.
