Alex's POV
It has been 5 and a half years since we were "rescued" by Ellie and her family. The day Ellie brought us to the sanctuary we explored around the immediate area around her house. Then we mindlinked Mother to let her know where we were and that we were safe. We camped out under Ellie's balcony window just wanting to watch over her. The next day when she went to school we decided we would explore the rest of the land. The property was huge and surprisingly it took us close to the North Mountain and our pack border.
Over the years a lot has changed. The wolf dogs of this sanctuary recognized us as true Alphas since our auras being werewolves were stronger than there's. However we never challenged their wolf dog Alpha Odin because one day we would have to leave here and they needed to have the protection of their pack even in this sanctuary. For the most part we avoid them but we always show Odin the respect he deserves as an animal Alpha, just like we would if we came across wild wolves.
About a year after living in this sanctuary we convinced Mother and Ari to get a job at the sanctuary. By doing so they started earning money and Mother bought a home close by so we could go home and shift back to our human selves and live somewhat normal lives. We've had to be sneaky so that the humans don't find out we come and go from the sanctuary. Usually before the family wakes up mom comes to the sanctuary with a change of clothes, she hides them in a burrow we made on the sanctuary land that only we know about. Once Ellie and her parents come out to feed us and then head to bring her to the school and run their errands Asher and I shift then head to the human school. Mother said we needed an education and even though we can't go to the werewolf school on our pack lands anymore we have continued to keep up basic education and Mother teaches us werewolf education everyday. It actually makes us quite happy to do the balance we have because it means we get to be with our Ellie as often as possible. The unfortunate part is that technically because we are two years older than Ellie we aren't in the same grade, in human schools we should be seniors about to graduate while Ellie is a sophomore but because we "missed a year" we "stayed back" and are juniors and only share certain classes with Ellie.
Three years into our new lives Ari found her fated mate. As I predicted he was an Alpha of an ally pack. He had recently taken over from his father and was looking into what happened to our alliance. Apparently no one knew our pack had been attacked because whoever orchestrated it was a traitor and kept things under wraps. They had figured we had died and they didn't renew any alliances just to keep the truth hidden. Ari's mate, Alpha Jaydon always found it strange that the alliance just stopped and when he asked his father why he never looked into it himself he just shrugged it off saying if our pack was too good to renew the alliance why should he look into it. That lead Alpha Jaydon to our territory but no one gave him answers. He had remembered that during one of his training meetings with his father and our father that Father had mentioned if anything should happen to our pack to look for us pups and Mate in the North Mountains. Since he sensed something was off at our pack that's what he did. During his search for us he found the boarder to the sanctuary and could recognize our faint scent since we ran to that border everyday. He followed it to the main building for the sancturary and when he decided to buy tickets for a wolf dog meet and greet he met Ari who was running the desk. They recognized each other as mates immediately and shortly after Ari moved to his pack to become his Luna and took her little brothers with her, much to the dismay of Annabeth who has a crush on them. We have met with Alpha Jaydon once a month since, eventually we will have to take back our pack as the rightful Alphas but until we turn 18 we can't challenge whoever the traitor was.
We are hoping that once we turn 18 we will find our Luna because whoever she is will make us stronger. The only downside to that is, we will most likely have to leave our Ellie behind. Asher and I had always hoped it would be Ellie since we have always been drawn to her but we doubt it since she's human, it's extremely rare for werewolves to be mated to humans and even more so for Alphas like us. It would also mean that we would have to wait even longer to find out since both mates have to be 18 in order to be scented out. Our plan once we turn 18 is to spend our monthly trips to Alpha Jaydon's training during the day and searching during the night for our mate. Alpha Jaydon has offered to do monthly mating events so he can invite more she-wolves from surrounding packs. We would just have to be careful not to be seen or scented out by any of our pack members in case they are on the traitors side.
As I am thinking of all the changes the last five years have brought, the familar scent of Ellie hits my nose before she places her hands over my eyes.
"Guess who?" She giggles.
"Hmmm, Meg?" I say in a serious tone. "Wait no, Ruby or is it Lilith?"
She then smacks my arm and comes to sit next to me, "Why do you always name the demons?" She pouts causing me to smirk a little. Ellie is the only one besides Ash that can get me to show any emotion.
"Maybe because you have forced Ash and I to watch that show way to many times, that I think of you has a beautiful possessed demon."
She blushes at me calling her beautiful then places a hand over her heart in mock hurt, "There is no such thing as watching Supernatural too many times! It's the best!"
I chuckle at her response. She's not wrong, though the shows take on werewolves is completely wrong, the show is pretty entertaining.
"Speaking of Ash have you seen him?" She questions.
"Why, am I not enough company anymore?"
"No, nothing like that, he just has my notebook and I need it for my next class."
"Oh, I actually haven't seen him yet. I'm sure he will be here soon though, he never misses lunch with our favorite demon."
"I am not a demon." She huffs.
"You're right, you're my Angel!" Ash says seemingly coming out of no where and placing a kiss on Ellie's cheek causing her to blush again. She really is just as adorable as the day we met her in our wolf form.
"I heard you need your notebook." Ash says pulling it out and handing it to her.
"Perfect thanks! Mr. Halls would have my head if I didn't turn in this assignment today."
"He wouldn't dare touch you." I growl out. I don't like Mr. Halls he's an arrogant teacher and he seems to always pick on our Ellie.
"Maybe not physically but he definitely has it out for me." She sighs.
Before Asher or I could utter a response a few of the cheerleaders walked up to us trying to get our attention.
"Hey sexy twins, why don't you two ditch the loser and come sit with us, we could show you a really good time." The head cheerleader purrs at us, pushing out her tits and trying to make herself look sexy.
I roll my eyes at them and turn all my attention to Ellie not wasting my breath or energy on them. It may be stupid, especially for Alphas, but Asher and I are virgins. We honestly haven't wanted to get with anyone except for our Ellie but she doesn't seem to want us in that way. Now that we are so close to being 18 we figured we might as well wait until we find our mate, that is unless Ellie gives us a shot. It's not common practice for male werewolves to wait so I am sure it will be a pleasant surprise for whoever we are fated to, that unless Ellie decides to give herself to us, our mate will be our first and last.
"The only losers we see here are you," Ash remarks, "You may think she's the loser, but at least she doesn't have to throw herself at us to get our attention. We like her for her, not because we want something from her. The day we choose you over her may that be the day the gods strike us down and send us to heaven."
I snort at his remark, he is definitely the more vocal of us two, if he messed around he would definitely be considered the easy going playboy type where I would be considered the stoic bad boy. Honestly if we never met Ellie that's probably what we would have been in the pack but here in the human world, with our Ellie, we are just two guys who don't see anyone but her. It really does suck that she isn't a wolf because I would love for her to be our mate and I am sure Asher feels the same.
"How dare you!" The head cheerleader screches, "I am way better than wolf girl here and I don't need to throw myself at anyone. You'll see, when you finally want a real woman come find me and maybe I will give you a chance, you may have to beg for forgiveness first though." She huffs and starts to turn away until I finally decide to speak.
"We don't beg anyone, and the only real woman I see is sitting next to me and has been since we first moved to this town."
"My twin is right, you may think you are shit, but you are nothing in our eyes, so go find one of your jocks and don't bother us again."
She lets out another screach then finally leaves with her posse following close behind. Man some people are just pathetic.
