Chapter 23 - Chapter 023: Is There a Possibility… That Paimon Is the Heavenly Principles? (5/5)

Lin Mo held the Vision in his hand.

Two plans had already taken shape in his mind.

The first plan was simple.

Now that he had become a Vision bearer, it wouldn't be long before he could ask Barbatos to help him apply to Celestia for entry permission. He could even try inviting Barbatos to become his companion—to raise a sword together against the Heavenly Principles.

Of course, the chances of success for this plan were not high.

Although this lifetime marked the peak of his martial strength, he still needed to test himself against truly powerful gods to confirm just how strong he had become.

For example, he could go to Liyue and spar lightly with Morax.

The God of War himself was more than qualified to define the upper limit of his combat power in this life.

Only after that would it make sense to consider ascending to Celestia and challenging the Heavenly Principles.

As for the second plan—

He would remain an observer, overseeing the overall direction of the story.

He would ensure that Teyvat's fate wouldn't spiral out of control because of his arrival.

That way, once the Cryo Archon gathered all seven Gnoses and declared war on Celestia, he could seize the opportunity to strike down the Heavenly Principles himself.

Complete the mission.

Make his wish.

As for the Abyss Order…

Who cared?

In the hundred-lifetimes invitation task, he didn't have much connection with the Abyss anyway. At most, he had once traveled through the Abyss with Tartaglia's master—that was all.

With both plans set, there was only one real difficulty left.

Alice's emotions.

Her anger was inevitable.

But Lin Mo no longer believed that he should sacrifice his feelings for Eula just to accommodate Alice's mood.

"I'll go find Eula."

He made his decision without hesitation.

He couldn't wait to tell Eula his answer.

But just as he turned toward the bedroom door—

Knock, knock, knock.

The door was tapped.

"Brother Ganqing~"

Klee's sweet voice came from outside.

Lin Mo quickly opened the door.

The moment he did, he was greeted by Klee's bright, sugary smile.

"Daddy, Daddy! Klee just ran into Sister Eula outside Acting Grand Master Jean's office~"

"She didn't look scary at all anymore. Did you two make up already~?"

Klee blinked her big eyes curiously.

"Mm, I guess you could say that," Lin Mo replied with a gentle smile, nodding.

Then he bent down, lifted Klee up, and let her sit on his arm as he asked with a grin,

"Klee, what if—Daddy's just saying what if—"

"What if Sister Eula became your second mommy? What would you think?"

"But Mommy is Mommy," Klee said, tilting her head in confusion.

"How could Sister Eula become Klee's second mommy?"

"Uhhh…"

"Well… it kind of means that—"

"Sister Eula would be Daddy's second wife."

Klee blinked.

The next second, realization dawned on her face. Her eyes lit up with excitement.

"Does that mean Daddy's saying Klee will have little brothers and sisters~? Right? Right~?"

"Uh… probably in the future," Lin Mo said awkwardly.

"We don't plan on having kids anytime soon… but if it happens by accident, of course we'd keep them."

"Yay~! Klee's going to have little brothers and sisters~!"

Perched on Lin Mo's arm, Klee kicked her legs happily.

"In the future, Klee will teach them how to write~!"

"And teach everyone how to make Jumpy Dumpties~!"

"And—oh! Right! Klee will also teach them how to grill fish~!"

She was completely immersed in the wonderful fantasy of having a whole group of younger siblings to play with.

Lin Mo could only smile helplessly.

Was she treating Eula like a baby-making machine?

Even if Eula were willing, he wouldn't have the heart to put her through that.

"Alright, Klee," Lin Mo said gently.

"Come with Daddy to find Sister Eula first. Once we find her, we'll all go get some late-night snacks together, okay?"

"Okay~! Klee will listen to Daddy!"

Klee nodded enthusiastically.

The two of them left the bedroom and headed toward Acting Grand Master Jean's office.

However, when they arrived, neither Jean nor Eula was there.

Lin Mo turned to a knight on duty and asked,

"Um… may I ask where Acting Grand Master Jean and Miss Eula went? Klee said they were just here."

The knight quickly replied with a polite smile,

"Oh, it's like this."

"This afternoon, we suddenly received an order to search for a blond traveler."

"Just a moment ago, some citizens reported seeing this traveler near the Knights of Favonius headquarters."

"So Acting Grand Master Jean and Miss Eula went out together to investigate."

"This is bad…"

Lin Mo's heart sank.

If he remembered correctly, the next part of the story was when Barbatos took Lumine and Paimon to the Favonius Cathedral to steal the Holy Lyre.

But if Lumine was discovered by Jean and Eula now…

Would that plot still unfold?

And the theft would fail. After that, Lumine was supposed to escape through Mondstadt.

With Jean and Eula present, would she even be able to get away?

No—he had to draw them away!

Lin Mo quickly asked the knight,

"Did you see which direction they went? I want to help with the search too."

"I'm sorry," the knight said apologetically.

"I've been stationed inside the building and didn't notice which way they left."

"I see. Thank you."

Lin Mo nodded.

"Klee, come on. Let's go find Acting Grand Master Jean and Sister Eula."

"Okay~~"

Before long, Lin Mo led Klee out of the Knights of Favonius headquarters.

He said they were looking for Jean and Eula.

But in reality, he was heading straight for the plaza.

Because he clearly remembered—

After Lumine met Barbatos in the plaza, they would infiltrate the Favonius Cathedral together to steal the Holy Lyre.

So as long as he stood guard nearby before they entered the cathedral—keeping Jean and Eula away—the story wouldn't be derailed.

Soon, Lin Mo and Klee arrived at the plaza.

From a distance, Lin Mo could already see Lumine, Paimon, and Barbatos talking together.

Thankfully, Jean and Eula were nowhere in sight.

"Daddy… why are we hiding behind this pillar all sneaky-like?"

Klee asked curiously.

"Well… Klee, wait just a little bit," Lin Mo replied.

"Once the traveler and that bard go into the church, Daddy will take you to find Sister Eula."

"But why are they going to the church so late?"

Klee blinked in confusion.

Why indeed?

To have the Anemo Archon lead them into his own church to steal his own lyre, of course.

Wait.

A sudden flash of insight struck Lin Mo.

The Anemo Archon, in his mortal form, went with Lumine to steal from his own church.

The Geo Archon, in his mortal form, went with Lumine to attend his own Rite of Descension.

At that moment, Lin Mo's gaze locked firmly onto the small floating Paimon in the distance.

Was there a possibility—

That the mortal incarnation of the Heavenly Principles was traveling with Lumine across Teyvat, searching for the true Heavenly Principles themselves… to demand an answer for why her and her brother were torn apart?
