~{Chapter 3}~ A little Closer~**
I woke up and realized I was at the hospital, every part of my body was aching and my head hurt too. I looked at my watch, it was quarter passed 9, I checked around to see if my parents were around but to my dismay, they weren't.
"What was I thinking..!!"
I thought to myself, they were probably "too busy" with work again and didn't even notice I was not home yet. I let out a deep sigh and slowly got up from the bed, then searched for my stuffs, I was about to leave when it struck me that someone had actually brought me to the hospital.
"Liya....!!"
I exclaimed. Just as if she could hear my thoughts, I saw her walking towards me with a nurse, they were talking about something and she looked serious, probably about me. I immediately ducked. Hell no way I was going to let her see me, not after I had embarrassed myself like that earlier. I acted as if I was soo cool and could manage by myself and almost died a couple seconds later, but come to think of it, how did she get to me Soo fast, was she perhaps following me. I remember her agreeing to go home with her "boyfriend", he had offered to drop her off and she had said yes, did she abandon him and decided to follow me instead, why tho.
"How weird..!!"
I was still deep in my thoughts when I heard their footsteps getting closer.
"I need to get out of here now before she comes in..!!"
I thought to myself. I looked around and immediately an ideal pooped into my head, there was a second bed closer to mine and the under was spacious enough to fit me. I quietly crawled under it into the next one, and the one after, and so on, until I came out of an opening where it was easy for me to escape without getting noticed.
"Perfect...!!"
I said to myself feeling proud, and then stood up to sneak out of the ward, but as I raised my head, I saw her standing right in front of me, her hands wrapped around her chest.
"Uhh...what are you doing...??"
She asked teasingly, and I immediately wished the ground would open up and swallow me.
The walk home was a very quiet and awkward one, neither Liya nor I had said anything, I was too embarrassed to even look at her and she probably didn't want to make things worse for me. We got to my gate and it was time to say goodbye, but I didn't want to, i wanted us to spend more time together, even though we didn't really have anything to talk about. I wished I could invite her to spend the night with me, but only friends could do that, and I had not forgotten my position in her life yet. I waved her good night and made to head inside, but then she called out my name and signaled me to hold on, so I shut the gate and walked towards her.
"Here, type in your number..!!"
She said, holding out her phone to me. I was shocked, have I misheard her or did Liya just ask for my number, am I about to graduate from "just future business partner" to friends, cause that would be the best reward the universe would give me after all I've gone through today.
"What...??"
I asked, hoping it would be what I thought I heard.
"Well... Actually, I want us to go to school together every day from tomorrow, I'd like to come pick you up every morning and come home with you afterwards, so I was hoping i could get your number so I can call you before coming. But that's of cause if you want to..!!"
"Are you kidding....?? Of cause I'd love to... I mean... yes I think it's a good idea..!!"
Liya giggled out loud, and once again, I wished the ground would swallow me up again. I shamefully collected the phone from her and typed in my number, and then handed it back, and ran quickly into the house. I didn't look back to see or hear anything, but I know she was probably laughing hard from my silliness.
"God that was soo uncool....!!"
I cried out as I threw myself unto my bed, but at least now I know i can be silly in front of her, it makes her giggle and laugh, so I didn't mind it at all. I went and took a quick shower and when I got back, there was a text, definitely from Liya, that read...
"Goodnight little Honneybear..!!"
With a tiny red heart. And that was it, just like.. my whole universe exploded into tiny beautiful pixie dusts.
The morning was the best morning I'd had since my brother died. I woke feeling like I had just won a medal , it was everything I'd ever dreamed of. I tuned into my favorite dancing playlist, Dynamite started playing and I danced to the bathroom with it. I finished up quickly and got dressed, then went downstairs for breakfast, as if my morning wasn't already perfect, Liya was already there, waiting for me.
"Good morning mi idole..."
She teased. Bowing a little while offering me to a seat where my breakfast was served.
"Please don't start... It's way too early..!!"
I cried out embarrassingly, wishing I could just disappear that instant, but Liya was already laughing hard. She must have gone to my room when she arrived and heard me singing, and now she won't stop teasing me about it. It had become Soo natural for her to tease me, but it also always makes her giggle or laugh out loud, and I was soo here for all of that magically sounding Laughter and giggles, actually, I wanted more. Don't blame me, they sounded Soo good, who would've thought someone merely giggling or laughing could sound this good. I finished up my breakfast and we headed out, but when we got to school and she tried parking the car, I almost lost my mind. I've read in books, and seen in movies how people react to someone driving or parking their cars with one hand, especially when the hands are veiny. I'd always thought it was weird and ridiculous, but guess who's almost passed out from her friend driving and parking with just one hand, I finally understood what those folks were feeling, and man I tell you, it's no joke.
"I'll text you when it's lunch time okay, let's have lunch together....!!"
She said, flashing those beautiful smile at me, ugh, I'd never get enough of them.
I was laying in the grass, listening to my favorite boy band, and waiting for Liya, when someone interrupted me. I used my hands to protect my eyes from the setting sun, and then looked up to see who it was. I recognize him, we had been taking the same class for a while now and he's never said hi to me, I sat behind him tho. Well today we had shared a seat and he had forgotten his lecture note for that class, so I had torn out a piece of mine and given it to him. And now he's here, I wonder why.
"Could you perhaps spare a spot for me....!!"
He sounded really polite that I couldn't be rude, so I sat up and shifted a little, giving him enough space to sit.
"I'm Moot, Mootsakon Tharnyawat, you can just call me Moot tho...!!
He introduced himself, flashing a friendly smile at me. His smile was beautiful, he had a subtle, yet masculine look, his teeth were perfect, his lips were pink and looked kissable and his eyes, they sparkled. He was gorgeous to say, but not like Liya, she is different, she is ethereal.
"I'm Maya, Kamaya Chantasiri...!!"
I replied back. But all of a sudden, he didn't say anything, so I looked up at his face to see if he heard me, I couldn't understand it, he looked shocked, like literally shocked.
"Did you just say your name is Chantasiri...?? Like the Chantasiri..??Your dad owns SiN..??" (Siirii Navarii)
He asked looking utterly shocked, not in a good way. I nodded my head in affirmation. I was about to ask him if there was a problem but then he just stood up, excused himself and left, without saying anything. I stood up to go after him, but then saw Liya approaching so I stopped to wait for her.
"Is there a problem..!!"
She asked, looking weird at me. I explained what just happened and immediately her face dropped.
"Aww you poor thing, don't you know who he is..??"
"No I don't..!!"
"That is Mootsakon Tharnyawat, his dad owns Paragon Jewels, the 5th biggest jewelry brand in Bangkok right now, and our families biggest rivalry...!!"
She said, and I immediately felt stupid. How would I have known, I've never really cared or paid attention to my father's business, as a matter of facts, I hated, my dad's business.
"Actually.... His dad is the reason we came back, he accused my dad of stealing important information from one of our top model, apparently, she works for him, and then sued my dad. After settlement, my dad didn't have much funds to keep the brand going, that's why we had to come back to look for investors..!!"
She finished up. I took a deep sigh, I was speechless, didn't know what to say or how to react. Liya sensed it and suddenly grabbed my hands.
"Come on.. let's go grab something to eat, I'm starving...!!"
She said, smiling and gently leading me towards the parking lot where her car is parked.
