Chapter 48
Jepack snapped out of his thoughts and watched Bogard's sword aura grow even stronger. He sighed with a mix of admiration and confusion:
"How the hell did this guy get stronger after one fight? I really can't figure it out!"
Meanwhile, Garp was still lying in his deck chair saying goodbye to Nami and Guina, reminding them to keep training hard.
He also told them to keep Jepack in check and not let the kid go around committing crimes.
"Teacher Garp, this is goodbye for now. We'll train hard according to your teachings and won't tarnish the reputation of the Navy Hero!"
"We'll keep an eye on Jepack—don't worry!"
Nami and Guina spoke their farewells to Garp. Though they hadn't spent much time together, a deep teacher-student bond had already formed.
Nami's reluctance was almost spilling from her eyes!
Guina tried to act cool, but anyone could see how much she didn't want to part.
Garp waved his hand casually and said:
"I hope one day I'll hear both your names echoing across the seas!"
Then he turned and slowly walked toward the dog-head warship.
"What a willful and charismatic old man!"
Jepack muttered under his breath. Instantly, both his ears were yanked.
"No more badmouthing Teacher—and no calling him 'old man' either."
Guina and Nami each grabbed one of Jepack's ears and scolded him fiercely.
"Ow ow ow ow—I won't say it anymore! I promise I won't call Garp 'old man'—deal?!"
"You two—let go of my ears quick—they're gonna rip off!"
By now Garp had reached the dog-head warship. He turned back and saw the playful scuffle. A huge grin spread across his face—he looked extremely proud of his two disciples.
Once released, Jepack quickly put some distance between himself and the girls. He lowered the sail, climbed to the lookout platform, and shouted:
"Dear crew members! Let's set sail—next destination: Loguetown!"
"Got it, dear Captain!"
In the blink of an eye, night fell. Full-speed sailing to Loguetown would still take several days. After Garp left the ship, the three of them went wild again—there wasn't a single spot on the entire ship that didn't bear traces of their antics!!
Because of how exhausted he was that night, Jepack fell asleep immediately. He even forgot about the system update. Luckily the system was just an AI with no emotions—or it would've definitely cursed him out.
Early the next morning, he could already hear Guina and Nami training. But Jepack was still lying there groggy, half-asleep, half-awake.
Looks like last night really overdid it!
While lying in the deck chair, Jepack suddenly jolted awake from some nightmare. He hurriedly pulled up his pants to check—everything was still there. Only then did he relax and lie back down.
"Damn! What kind of evil dream was that? Getting castrated after transmigrating to another world?! What's the difference between that and being dead?!"
"At least my transmigration is decent—everything's still intact, and I've got a cheat!"
"Right—cheat! I remember the system finishes updating today."
"Damn it—wine and women ruined me! Starting today, I'm going sober!!!"
After grumbling to himself in regret, he quickly checked the system.
—System update complete. Update gift pack has been delivered to the host's inventory.
"Show info."
Host: Jepack (Balance: system coins) Age: 16 Height/Weight: 193 cm & 79 kg & 22 cm
Skills
• Conqueror's Haki Tier 1+ (upgradable)
• Observation Haki Tier 1+ (upgradable)
• Armament Haki Tier 1+ (upgradable)
• Swordsmanship Tier 7+ (Tier 10 = Great Swordsman; 100× basic swordsmanship after Tier 6 upgrades one tier)
• Six Powers: All max level
Inventory The last slot of the 32-grid inventory held a neatly packaged gift pack. Jepack decided to check the system changes first before opening the update gift—he had a feeling it would be something good.
System Lottery (each draw requires system coins)
"What?! One draw now costs 100,000 system coins?"
"1 system coin = 100 beri… one seven is seven, two seven is fourteen, three eight is Women's Day, May 1st Labor Day…"
"That means 10 million beri for one draw—how many Choppers is that?!"
After clicking in, he saw the changes. The old wheel with seven reward types was now reduced to only three: "Purple, Gold, Red." The mysterious "?" slot was still there, unchanged.
• Purple Quality (75% area): Random Paramecia or Zoan Devil Fruit ×1
• Gold Quality (23% area): Random Logia Devil Fruit or Ancient Zoan Devil Fruit ×1
• Red Quality (0.5% area): Any of the three Haki types upgraded by one tier
• Unknown Quality (1.5% area): Still a blank "?"
"System-produced Devil Fruits do not conflict with existing fruits in the One Piece world. Effects are identical—equivalent to 100% cloned complete fruits!"
Jepack stroked the small stubble on his chin while looking at the lottery mode.
"The changes aren't huge—just the draw price got more expensive!"
"But it's not too bad. After all, a single Devil Fruit at the Sabaody auction starts at 10 million beri. The downside is you can't choose the fruit anymore—not the best feeling."
"Whatever. At least there are fewer green and blue sections—looks cleaner now! Let's see what else got updated!"
Affection Interface
• Guina: Age 16 → Affection 100 (Till death do us part, training hard, wants to get intimate with Jepack…)
• Nami: Age 16 → Affection 100 (Till death do us part, training hard, wants gold and to get intimate with Jepack…)
• Nojiko: Age 18 → Affection 90 (Deep love, missing Jepack…)
• Makino: Age 25 → Affection 40 (Friend, busy running the tavern, not yet conquered)
"This affection interface update is easy to understand. It added what they're currently doing and their strongest current desire."
"Desire only shows up after conquest! Just wondering how much affection counts as 'conquered'—or does it require the deed itself?"
"This damn system doesn't give any explanation—just makes me figure it out myself! You treating me like a Fantasy series mini-game player or what?"
Jepack continued scrolling through the main system interface. Below Affection was a new tab: Mall.
Clicking in, he saw several categories to choose from.
Daily Necessities, Equipment, Basics, and several gray locked "?" sections.
