Chapter 5 - 5

Chapter 5: Tsunade: That Fast?

"Hirakawa-kun? He is undoubtedly a genius in medical ninjutsu, having become a qualified medical ninja in just one year."

"Furthermore, to encourage him earlier, I rewarded him with the Delicate Illness Extraction Technique, and knowing his talent, he should have already mastered it."

"Oh, and yesterday, Hirakawa-kun completed ten treatment missions, seven of them entirely on his own."

Tsunade was greatly surprised listening to Minako's assessment of Hirakawa Seisui.

She hadn't expected that Kushina's words were true; this guy genuinely was a genius in medical ninjutsu.

Ugh, this is troublesome.

She had thought this would just be a formality, but it looked like she would genuinely have to put some effort into mentoring him.

I really want to go gambling!

[Completed the treatment of Sasakura Hiroaki, rewarded with one Blue Orb.]

[Congratulations on obtaining one Explosive Tag.]

Sasakura Hiroaki was an ordinary Chunin. Seisui had initially expected this treatment to grant him one hundred points of chakra.

He didn't expect to receive an Explosive Tag instead.

An Explosive Tag is a ninja tool, appearing as a sheet of paper marked with talisman patterns, primarily used for setting traps or in conjunction with kunai.

Moreover, Explosive Tags possess tremendous power; their most famous feat was killing Tsunade's younger brother, Nawaki.

As for the most famous scene, that was undoubtedly when Konan fought Obito, using six hundred billion Explosive Tags disguised as the ocean.

However, for ordinary ninja, Explosive Tags are not tools that can be utilized on a large scale.

The reason is simple: they are too expensive.

Nevertheless, all things considered, this reward wasn't too bad.

A single Explosive Tag could sometimes change the outcome of an entire battle.

Especially when one's chakra reserves are depleted.

"It seems that unlike the White Orb, the Blue Orb doesn't only yield chakra rewards."

As this thought occurred to him, Seisui realized something else.

Since the Blue Orb could produce Explosive Tags, it should also be able to produce other ninja tools.

Although ninja earn a good income, their consumption is also high.

The largest expenditure is spent on purchasing ninja tools.

From now on, he wouldn't need to spend large sums of money buying ninja tools.

If he ever ran short on funds, he could even sell the ninja tools he acquired to make money.

Since the cost was zero, even selling them slightly below market price would still be pure profit.

"Looking at it this way, this isn't just 'not a loss'—it's a massive gain."

Don't forget, he needed to perform treatments to obtain these ninja tools, and that was already a source of income.

In short, Seisui was winning so much he was practically numb to it.

Just as Seisui was deep in thought, a nurse suddenly knocked on his office door.

"Hirakawa-sama, Lady Tsunade requests your presence in her office."

He had assumed another patient needed treatment, yet it was Tsunade who was asking for him?

When did Tsunade even arrive at the Konoha Hospital?

And why would she suddenly want to see him?

Seisui was extremely puzzled.

He hadn't seen Tsunade since the end of the Second Shinobi World War.

After all, he neither visited the Senju clan compound nor frequented places that violated the Three Ninja Prohibitions, such as casinos or pubs.

The only place where he might have encountered Tsunade was the Konoha Hospital.

Yet, ever since Seisui began studying medical ninjutsu, he had never seen Tsunade visit.

Kushina must have orchestrated something.

With that thought, Seisui got up and headed to Tsunade's office.

"Lady Tsunade, I am Hirakawa Seisui."

"Come in."

Hearing her voice, Seisui pushed the door open, and what immediately met his eyes were two Planetary Devastations.

*Hiss*, so this is the power of 106—truly terrifying!

Cough, cough, my apologies, I forgot to turn off the auto-aim.

"Lady Tsunade, you wished to see me?"

"Yesterday, Kushina told me you were a genius at medical ninjutsu, so she asked me to come and give you some guidance."

Tsunade had no intention of concealing the truth, stating directly that she was only there to mentor Seisui because of Kushina's request.

Just as he thought.

Seisui, who had already surmised the reason, immediately put on a grateful expression.

"Wouldn't this be too much trouble for Lady Tsunade?"

"It's nothing. Given your talent, you deserve this guidance."

Although she desperately wanted to go gambling, Tsunade would not be perfunctory just because of her desire.

"Tell me, what specifically do you want me to teach you?"

"Lady Tsunade, could you teach me the Chakra Scalpel?"

After a moment of thought, Seisui decided to seize this opportunity to learn the A-rank medical ninjutsu.

He chose the Chakra Scalpel because the technique allows for internal cutting of a target without causing any external injury.

In other words, this technique can actually be utilized in combat.

In the original story, Yakushi Kabuto once used this exact move against Tsunade.

Tsunade did not refuse Seisui's request. She immediately took out a ninjutsu scroll and handed it to him.

"Look it over first. If you have any questions, you can ask me."

Seisui quickly finished reading the Chakra Scalpel scroll.

"What do you think?"

"It's somewhat difficult, but not overwhelmingly so."

Hearing this, Tsunade subconsciously curled her lip, clearly believing Seisui was boasting.

After all, this was an A-rank medical ninjutsu; even she had taken several days to master it proficiently back then.

"Since you're so confident, how long do you estimate it will take you to learn?"

"Three days, maximum."

Without the slightest hesitation, Seisui provided his answer.

"That fast? Kid, you certainly talk big."

Seeing Seisui's confidence, Tsunade actually became intrigued.

"Then, do you dare to bet with me? If you can master the Chakra Scalpel within three days, I will teach you the Mystical Palm Technique."

"But if you fail to do so, you owe me ten million Ryo."

Such a good deal exists?

Seisui agreed immediately without a second thought.

Betting against Tsunade?

No need to hesitate; the advantage is all mine!

"That's ten million Ryo, not one thousand Ryo. If you lose, you'll be working for free for several years."

The salary for working at the Konoha Hospital is fixed at only 100,000 Ryo per month.

Seeing Seisui agree so readily, Tsunade assumed he hadn't heard the amount correctly.

However, Seisui immediately confirmed that he had heard correctly.

"Since you insist on handing me money, I'll be merciful and take your instruction seriously."

Seeing how insistent he was, Tsunade stopped arguing, merely deciding silently that in three days, she would only make Seisui lose 100,000 Ryo to her.

After all, he was Kushina's friend; she couldn't be too excessive.

That's right, Tsunade had already preemptively assumed victory.

Seisui's mouth twitched slightly upon hearing Tsunade's words.

He couldn't understand where Tsunade got this confidence.

Did she have zero awareness of her own gambling luck?

Next, Seisui asked Tsunade his questions one by one, and Tsunade answered them without holding anything back.

"Thank you, Lady Tsunade."

Once all his questions were answered, Seisui didn't linger.

However, the moment he stepped out of Tsunade's office, a nurse found him, informing him that an injured person required immediate surgery.
