Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Physical Education Teacher

"Teacher Kobayashi, I am Takakura Bunta, the Kindergarten Director of Futaba Kindergarten. Please introduce yourself."

In the Kindergarten Director's office, a tall, thin, dark-skinned man in a yellow checkered casual suit sat behind the desk, holding Kobayashi Itsuki's resume from the file folder, and smiled as he spoke to him.

At the same time, a System Notification sounded in Kobayashi Itsuki's mind.

[Ding. You have met Takakura Bunta. Current relationship status: White.]

[Congratulations, Host. You have received White Treasure Chest * 1.]

There were only Kobayashi Itsuki and the other person in the office.

Facing Takakura Bunta, the Kindergarten Director of Futaba Kindergarten, Kobayashi Itsuki finally understood why many people in the original work said the Kindergarten Director looked like a Yakuza Member and was very scary.

Because some people's appearance gives you a first impression that makes you subconsciously feel that this person is definitely not good, but rather a criminal or something similar.

Takakura Bunta was clearly such a person.

Even though he was smiling at Kobayashi Itsuki now, with the scars on his face, that smile was indistinguishable from the sinister grin of villains in some films and television series Kobayashi Itsuki had watched.

No wonder many children in the Kindergarten were afraid of him.

"Yes."

However, since he knew the other party was actually kind-hearted, very gentle, and even somewhat fragile, he had no psychological concerns.

Kobayashi Itsuki briefly organized his thoughts and spoke seriously.

"My name is Kobayashi Itsuki, I am twenty-four years old this year, and I graduated from Tokyo Gakugei University..."

The original body's resume had no issues; the paper qualifications were quite good.

After a brief self-introduction, Kobayashi Itsuki continued.

"I am quite interested in Indian culture. I have specifically studied Kalaripayattu, fitness exercises, and I have also mastered reading and writing the Indian language..."

Takakura Bunta looked at Kobayashi Itsuki's file, and when he heard the subsequent introduction, a look of interest appeared on his fierce face.

"Kalaripayattu[1]?"

"Do you mean Indian Kung Fu?"

"You could say that, it's just not as magical as portrayed in movies."

"But since it's relatively gentle, children can practice it for health and fitness, so there's no problem."

Kobayashi Itsuki said gently and modestly.

Upon hearing that, Takakura Bunta's face clearly showed a satisfied expression.

What Kobayashi Itsuki just mentioned is definitely a plus for any teacher.

A teacher who knows a foreign language, Even if it's just a gimmick, many parents would find it very exciting.

Not to mention the extra advantage of Indian Kung Fu.

One can imagine that if the Kindergarten children learn some Indian Kung Fu and show it at home, the parents would be thrilled.

Putting down the file, Takakura Bunta rubbed his hands together.

He was quite pleased that Kobayashi Itsuki would become a teacher at their Futaba Kindergarten.

All the conditions are pretty good.

Now there's only one problem.

"Teacher Kobayashi, let me introduce you to the benefits of our Kindergarten."

"Our Kindergarten starts work at 8:30 am, lunch at 11:40 am, followed by a nap, and dismissal at 2:00 pm."

"Teachers need to stay before school and after dismissal for cleaning, roughly 8 am to 3 pm. Salary is 250,000 yen per month, weekends off, holidays as usual, plus three additional breaks: summer, winter, and spring vacations..."

After explaining the salary, Takakura Bunta looked at Kobayashi Itsuki with some anticipation.

Honestly, the current salary is worlds apart from the pre‑Bubble Economy era.

Back when the economy was booming, some company employees' monthly entertainment budgets were far larger, and they'd get scolded if they didn't spend it all.

Housing prices were even higher than those in first‑tier cities before Kobayashi Itsuki's transmigration.

Even hailing a taxi required waving cash for a surcharge to get a ride.

Society had sunk into a pathological frenzy; being the world's leading economy was no empty boast.

Futaba Kindergarten's wages were modest even before the Bubble Economy, and after it they are lower than many other industries.

The only slight advantage is the shorter work hours and dealing only with children.

But for Kobayashi Itsuki, as long as he can get by, it's fine.

Free lunch, short hours, many holidays... these perks are already great for Kobayashi Itsuki.

"Got it. When can I start, and do I need any practical training?"

"If the salary is fine, you can start tomorrow right after signing the contract."

Seeing that Kobayashi Itsuki didn't complain about the terms, Takakura Bunta was clearly pleased.

He quickly took out the contract and placed it on the desk.

"After the contract is signed, Teacher Kobayashi, you can go greet the children, get familiar with the Kindergarten environment, and learn the workflow."

Thinking of the many treasure chests he'll soon earn, Kobayashi Itsuki's face broke into a genuine smile.

"No problem."

"Then let's sign the contract."

After signing, Takakura Bunta looked at Kobayashi Itsuki and smiled, saying wistfully.

"You must really like kids, Teacher Kobayashi, otherwise few would be interested in this job."

Takakura Bunta, not a scheming person, spoke very straightforwardly.

"Yeah! I really like kids!"

Kobayashi Itsuki nodded and said seriously.

Why wouldn't he like kids? For him, this is the easiest job to farm treasure chests right now.

Not only do the children provide treasure chests, but spending time with them also boosts his affection.

Aside from a gigolo, Kobayashi Itsuki can't think of a more suitable job.

Coaxing children is far easier than coaxing men.

"Japan's education sector now lacks passionate people like Teacher Kobayashi."

Holding his file, Kobayashi Itsuki followed Takakura Bunta to tour the Kindergarten.

Leaving Takakura Bunta's office, they walked while he kept introducing everything.

"This is the teachers' office; Teacher Kobayashi can choose an empty spot for your desk now."

"We currently have three female teachers; I'll introduce them later."

"Here is our Kindergarten kitchen, with a dedicated chef preparing meals; the menu hardly repeats within a week."

"This is the infirmary, and over there is the restroom..."

Takakura Bunta gave a very detailed, thorough introduction.

It's clear he has poured a lot of affection into this Kindergarten.

[1] Here I am talking about stage four of kalaripayattu which is Verumkai. Verumkai is extremely important in Kalaripayattu, Verumkai trains a person to use his own body as a weapon both to defend himself against an armed or unarmed adversary, and to overpower him physically. Thus, for the most obvious reasons, mastery in Verumkai boosts the self-confidence of the individual.
