Chapter 33 - Unregistered Weaponry (2/2)

## Asgardian can see cursed energy.

Consider it their Æsir physiology, or their magical prowess

Consider this AU, if it satisfies you.

Ethan looked toward the distant silhouette of the Destroyer, cracking his knuckles with a sharp pop. That had been a solid hit, yet the armor had clearly survived it.

Impressive defense indeed. Reaching into his Shadow, Ethan retrieved a bow and arrow. He nocked the shaft and took aim, his eyes narrowing. Even with the Destroyer over 200 meters away, his electrical CET-enhanced senses perceived the construct with perfect clarity.

The bowstring was taut. The arrow flew true.

Then came the impact.

Boom!

This was no ordinary projectile. The arrow was the byproduct of a complex Binding Vow Ethan had established to revolutionize his combat style.

A year prior, Ethan had undergone a Binding Vow to manifest his Shikigamis not as independent entities, but as Cursed Tools.

The core of this agreement is a trade-off: Ethan sacrifices the ability to summon a specific Shadow for a duration of time. In exchange, he gains the ability to imbue that Shikigami's essence and technique into a physical object.

* The Restriction: The "lock-out" period is directly proportional to the duration of the imbuement. If he imbues a sword with a Shikigami for five minutes, that specific shadow remains inaccessible for the following five minutes.

While a full summon is blocked, Partial Manifestation—such as utilizing Nue's electricity or Max Elephant's water—remains possible.

Furthermore, a natural restriction exists regarding the compatibility of the object. For instance, the Round Deer cannot be forced into a shield, and standard metals shatter under the pressure of a Shikigami if held for too long.

However, as Ethan stared at the Destroyer, he realized he was looking at the ultimate solution to his material problem.

Through relentless trial and error, Ethan has forged a collection of Special Grade Cursed Tools, some of them are:

Hati & Sköll (Dual Swords): Special Grade Cursed Tool

Manifested by imbuing the Divine Dogs into twin blades, these levitating weapons possess a degree of sentience similar to the Cloak of Levitation. With one black and one white hilt, they are capable of shredding Special Grade defenses. While they aren't his rawest power source, their autonomous nature alone makes them a high-level threat on any battlefield.

Spear and Shield: Special Grade Cursed Tools

Imbued with Nue, the spear can channel and discharge a staggering billion-volt lightning strike. Its counterpart, the shield, is a marvel of durability, capable of anchoring Ethan against anything short of a direct nuclear warhead impact.

The Great Bow: Special Grade Cursed Tool

Imbued with the shikigami Orochi, this bow features an unbreakable string. Its power is derived from tension; the longer the string is held taut, the more devastating the kinetic release of the launched projectile.

Infinite Chains: Special Grade Cursed Tool

Imbued with Rabbit Escape, these function similarly to the Chain of a Thousand Miles. As long as Ethan fuels them with Cursed Energy, the chains will extend indefinitely. Being primarily a Cursed Energy construct rather than a physical artifact, they require very little base metal to manifest.

Hiraishin: Special Grade Cursed Tool

Imbued with the sacrifice of Rabbit Escape and a specialized seal developed by Tora, these weapons allow Ethan to maintain a constant sensory link to their locations. Each kunai deploys a localized Simple Domain that serves as a metaphysical anchor; Ethan can theoretically sense these markers from across galaxies and teleport to them instantaneously via Shadow Manipulation. Though a classified a cursed tool, it doesn't fall under the binding vow as the rabbit shikigami is already sacrificed.

Momentum Arrow: Special Grade Cursed Tool

Imbued with the Piercing Ox, this arrow operates on a terrifying logic: the longer it travels in a "linear path," the more its attack power scales toward infinity. Ethan enhanced this further via a Binding Vow: in exchange for the time taken to chant and aim, the final output is doubled. In this context, the "linear path" is calculated two-dimensionally.

RCT Disks: Special Grade Cursed Tool

To create these, Ethan entered another Binding Vow where he severed his direct link to the items. In exchange, he can manifest multiple disks imbued with the Round Deer's Reverse Cursed Technique.

These versatile tools can be distributed to allies to create a ten-meter healing radius or applied directly to wounds to conserve energy.

Soul-Strike Whip: Special Grade Cursed Tool

Imbued with the Toad, this whip was a surprising discovery during Ethan's experiments. It bypasses traditional physical armor to lash out at the soul directly, making it an ideal weapon against opponents with impenetrable armour.

The Segment (Three-Section Staff): Special Grade Cursed Tool.

Imbued with the overwhelming weight of Max Elephant, this staff manifests and functions similarly to Playful Cloud. The critical distinction, however, lies in its sharpened, serrated edges—allowing the weapon to transition seamlessly between crushing blunt force and lethal slicing maneuvers.

Unlike most tools that rely on cursed techniques, this staff acts as a force amplifier for the user's physical prowess.

By channeling the crushing pressure of the elephant's essence, it enhances Ethan's raw strength to an astronomical level, making every strike capable of killing special grades cursed spirits.

The Black Flash Gauntlets: Zenith-Tier Cursed Tool

A level above standard Special Grade, these are imbued with Tora. After Mahoraga analyzed the phenomenon of Black Flash, Ethan used Tora's help to create a functional model for the phenomenon.

While he previously had to focus intensely to land consecutive sparks, these gauntlets allow him to trigger them passively; even a casual jab now results in a space-distorting Black Flash.

The Eight-Handled Wheel:

The pinnacle of his arsenal, this tool allows Ethan to adapt to any and all phenomena, ensuring that no matter how strange the enemy's power, victory is only a few "clicks" away. It doesn't fall under the binding vow.

And these weren't all, he could also make cursed tools using all his Chimeras.

When the Momentum Arrow flew true and landed, the impact mirrored that of a high-ordinance warhead. However, instead of blasting the Destroyer outward, the force of the trajectory drove the construct deeper into the crater, pinning it against the scorched earth.

Ethan dropped the bow and arrow back into his shadow and retrieved the Soul-Strike Whip, accelerating toward the impact zone with a crackle of purple electricity.

Back in Puente Antiguo, Thor stood amidst the ruins of what had been a family home. He had followed the cries for help, only to find a girl no older than six holding the hand of her father. The man had been severed at the waist, clearly deceased, yet the child spoke to him softly, promising that help was coming and that everything would be alright.

As Thor watched the heartbreaking scene, his father's words echoed through his mind: "A wise king never seeks out war." He reflected on his own arrogance; he had nearly ignited a conflict that would have consumed the Nine Realms and cost millions of lives—all for the sake of his pride.

Stricken by the weight of his actions, he gently scooped up the girl and carried her to safety.

In the clearing, he felt the shockwave of the battle before the sound even reached him. The impact between the Destroyer and the Lightning Sorcerer was so immense it rattled the town, despite the combat taking place half a mile away.

Thor placed the girl with a group of survivors fleeing the perimeter and turned back toward the center of the city.

He spotted Jane Foster assisting a wounded couple. In just over a day, Thor had come to deeply respect her bravery and intelligence—a strength that didn't require a hammer or a throne.

Looking toward the heavens, he spoke with a voice of tempered iron. "Father... all my life, I have answered every call...to honor, duty, and to war. I was wrong. I see that now. Lend me the strength of the All-Fathers, so I may fight once more... Defeat one more enemy, even if that enemy is my own brother. Please Father heed my words."

At the moment Thor chose to sacrifice his life to Loki to save the mortals of Midgard, something fundamental shifted within him.

Miles away, at the high-security SHIELD facility, Mjölnir began to surge with violent arcs of electricity. Scientists scrambled to record the sudden, massive spike in energy, but before they could investigate, the hammer erupted from the ground. It shot into the sky at supersonic speeds, a streak of silver lightning.

Thor Odinson, the former Crown Prince of Asgard and the God of Thunder, was deemed Worthy.

Ethan was closing in on the Destroyer when he caught sight of the hammer streaking across the New Mexico sky. He couldn't help but smile; it was a "canon event," he thought, witnessing the exact moment Thor was finally found Worthy.

Ethan refocused on the towering form of the Destroyer as it crawled out of the crater. With the Soul-Strike Whip in hand, he lashed out at the metallic titan, landing a strike squarely across its faceplate.

This weapon was designed to bypass conventional barriers and strike the soul directly. While the Destroyer is typically an inanimate construct, it is animated by the life force of a sentient being. In this case, it was being controlled via Gungnir by Loki.

Because the whip attacks the spiritual essence of the pilot, the strike echoed across the realms.

In the Asgardian Throne Room, Loki was violently thrown back against the seat of power, a jagged slash manifesting across his face. He touched the phantom wound, his eyes widening as he looked at the blood on his fingers before refocusing his rage back on the Midgardian battlefield.

But it was already too late. Thor had arrived.

Thor and Ethan shared a brief, knowing look before both turned their attention back to the Destroyer. Formal introductions would have to wait; there was work to be done.

Thor hurled Mjölnir, the impact knocking the metallic giant to the ground. Taking to the sky, he began channeling his regained divinity to summon a localized storm—a Category 3 tornado that tore through the desert as lightning flashed in the sky.

Ethan quickly created some distance, sensing the raw, uncontrolled power of the Thor's lightning and not wanting to be caught in the crossfire, though he couldn't be harmed by Lighting, him being in the area might make Thor hesitate.

And Despite the strength of Ethan's Cursed Tools, their base materials were still mundane metals that couldn't penetrate the Destroyer's mystical armor. Thor, however, was a different story.

Increasing the rotation speed of his hammer, Thor lifted the Destroyer off the ground. The construct attempted to fire its incandescent beams, but Thor deflected the first two with ease. Using Mjölnir as a shield, he closed the gap. In a final, decisive move, he pressed his hammer against the armor's faceplate, forcing the Odinforce discharge back inward.

The resulting explosion echoed for miles. Boom!

The Destroyer collapsed into a heap of scrap metal as the tornado dissipated into the desert air.

Thor approached Ethan with the casual stride of someone who had just finished a walk in the park. Ethan extended a hand in greeting.

"Name's Ethan Park," he said.

"Thor... Thor Odinson," the God of Thunder replied, shaking his hand, blue and purple lightning flashed around their handshake.

Click. The Wheel above Ethan's head spun again. Mahoraga continued adapting to Odinforce.

Thor looked up at the artifact, a flicker of unease passing through his eyes. "You are quite skilled with electricity," Thor noted, shaking off the strange sensation.

"You're not so bad yourself," Ethan replied, gesturing toward the smoking wreckage of the Destroyer before looking back at the town. "We should probably head back there."

Upon arriving in Puente Antiguo, Ethan immediately retrieved his RCT Disks from his shadow. He began distributing them across the town using Rabbit Escape,

dozens of small white rabbits scurrying toward the injured survivors.

Thor watched the small creatures with fascination. "All those rabbits... Are they emerging from your shadow?" he asked.

"You can see them?" Ethan asked—more an observation than a question. It seems the Æsir physiology, allowed Asgardians to naturally see cursed energy.
