Chapter 19 -  A Truly Dangerous Man Isn’t Evil

"Naruto, this thing… calling it a Rasengan just doesn't do it justice anymore!"

Namikaze Minato's voice trembled with excitement as he stared at the dense black orb spinning in Naruto Uzumaki's hand.

"It should be named something like… Spiral Ultra-Wheel Jet-Black Burst!"

"It's called the Great Spiral Wheel Calamity,"

Naruto replied flatly, cutting off his father's enthusiasm.

He remembered it clearly.

In Road to Ninja, the alternate Naruto—Menma Uzumaki—had used this very technique. A single Great Spiral Wheel Calamity had devastated Konoha, its destructive power comparable to Nagato's Super Shinra Tensei.

"Ah… alright," Minato said, a little disappointed, though he had to admit the name Naruto chose was far better.

Suddenly, Kurama lowered his massive head, crimson eyes narrowing as he studied the black sphere.

"Naruto," he rumbled, "how much chakra did that thing consume?"

"It feels… almost identical to my Tailed Beast Bomb."

Naruto closed his eyes briefly, sensing his remaining reserves.

"About two-thirds of my chakra."

Kurama's pupils widened—then he laughed.

"Heh… brat. When you grow up, your chakra might rival Hashirama Senju's."

"Maybe even surpass him. Don't forget—my first jinchūriki, Uzumaki Mito, had chakra reserves not much weaker than Hashirama's."

Naruto nodded, recalling jokes from his previous life:

For shinobi like Naruto and Hashirama, chakra is measured in tons—

everyone else measures it in grams.

The clearest example was Hatake Kakashi—able to use Raikiri only a handful of times before exhaustion forced him to rely on Earth Release.

Then there was Gaara—who would claim to be low on chakra, only to unleash Sand Burial: Imperial Funeral moments later as if nothing were wrong.

"So what do we do with this thing?"

Naruto asked, lifting the Great Spiral Wheel Calamity.

Minato froze, glanced at Kurama—and quickly looked away.

"ROAR!"

Kurama's sudden bellow shook the seal space.

"BASTARD! FOURTH HOKAGE! I felt that! You were thinking something shady!"

"Er…" Minato coughed awkwardly.

He had forgotten—inside the seal, Kurama could sense intent, especially when Naruto was using Kurama's chakra.

And yes… Minato had briefly wondered whether Kurama should be the one to clean up the technique Naruto created under his guidance.

Naruto's eyes sharpened.

"Dad. Kurama. You both said this seal is strong, right?"

Kurama raised his head slightly.

He already knew what Naruto was thinking.

Minato frowned. "Naruto, the Rasengan can't be thrown. If that chakra mass explodes against the Eight Trigrams Seal, the backlash to your spirit could be—"

"Link your chakra with mine," Kurama interrupted.

"Use chakra arms to toss it outside the gate. That way, you won't have to throw it yourself."

Minato's eyes lit up. "That could work! Not exactly what I was thinking—but it's better."

Kurama's eyes narrowed. "Oh? And what were you thinking, Fourth Hokage?"

Naruto didn't comment. The plan was viable.

When he first synchronized chakra with Kurama, his body had been wrapped in a golden chakra cloak. He had already confirmed that he could manifest chakra arms inside the seal.

But there was a flaw.

That chakra cloak couldn't leave the seal.

The moment Naruto stepped beyond the iron gate, Kurama's chakra—and some of Naruto's own—was forcibly siphoned back, leaving him weakened.

Minato still couldn't explain why.

His seal should have converted Kurama's chakra into Naruto's.

Yet something resisted.

"Thanks, Kurama."

Naruto smiled faintly and turned toward the gate, his voice sharpening.

"I know the Rasengan can't be thrown."

"But this can."

"What?!" Minato shouted.

Naruto thrust the hand holding the Great Spiral Wheel Calamity through the gate and released it in a single, decisive motion.

The black orb soared outward.

Naruto grabbed Minato's hand and sprinted toward Kurama's massive paw.

"I'm counting on you, Kurama!"

Kurama didn't hesitate.

He wrapped Naruto and Minato in his forelimbs, then coiled all nine tails around himself, forming a dense protective shell.

BOOM—!

Before the orb even touched the ground, it detonated.

A deafening roar consumed the seal space.

A colossal spherical shockwave expanded outward, obliterating everything in its path. Light swallowed the world.

Inside Kurama's coils, Naruto and Minato felt the entire seal realm tremble violently.

Only after a long moment did the chaos fade.

Kurama slowly uncoiled, ears twitching as he looked outside.

His expression tightened.

"…Tch."

Minato blinked. "The seal… cracked?"

"You're serious?" Kurama replied sharply.

Naruto immediately inspected it.

Having mastered the Eight Trigrams Sealing Formula, he confirmed the truth:

fine cracks had appeared.

He remembered asking once:

Can I just break this seal myself?

Minato's answer back then had been immediate: No.

A seal like this required a key, uniquely paired to the original caster. Even if Naruto replicated the formula, he couldn't produce a compatible release key.

When Naruto later asked about undoing the Reaper Death Seal, Minato had refused to answer.

Naruto already knew why.

To undo it… someone had to die.

Orochimaru had only succeeded by exploiting Living Corpse Reincarnation, sacrificing an expendable body.

After confirming the cracks, Naruto raised a fist.

Kurama instantly understood.

Their fists touched.

Golden chakra surged over Naruto's body.

Two steps forward—

Naruto walked out of the gate.

As before, the chakra cloak destabilized, flickering wildly.

Then—

It stopped leaking.

The golden light deepened, shifting into crimson.

The chakra became semi-transparent.

Two fox-like ears formed atop Naruto's head.

Behind him, two tails swayed lazily.

"What… is this?" Naruto muttered.

"Yes! That's it!" Minato exclaimed.

"Just like Kushina Uzumaki! I told you the seal was working!"

He was completely focused on the chakra form.

Kurama wasn't.

His eyes darkened.

"Fourth Hokage," he said grimly,

"don't celebrate yet."

"Haven't you noticed?"

"Naruto is starting to transform."

Minato froze.

He saw it too.

Naruto had successfully drawn Kurama's chakra outside the seal—

—but the process had triggered the early stages of Tailed Beast transformation.

Kushina had once manifested the same chakra cloak.

"Hmph. Took you long enough," Kurama growled.

"Too late now. Two ANBU just fled. They're heading straight for the Third Hokage."

Minato's expression darkened.

"Naruto! Get back inside!"

"Kurama, retract the chakra—I need to reinforce the seal!"

Kurama stared at Naruto for a long moment.

Then he closed his eyes—and lay down.

Naruto shook his head.

"Dad, even if Hiruzen Sarutobi inspects the seal, all he'll notice are minor cracks."

"He won't act."

"I already said—I'm going to break this seal. Why would I reinforce it?"

Minato looked miserable.

He feared Hiruzen might probe deeper—and discover his own existence.

Naruto sensed it clearly now.

The remaining ANBU outside radiated unstable chakra.

The Third Hokage was already on his way—with others.

Naruto turned inward.

"Kurama. Can you hide my father?"

"Tch."

Kurama raised a massive paw.

"Come in, Fourth Hokage."

"And if you ever talk about reinforcing that seal again—forget about borrowing my chakra."

Minato hesitated—then stepped into Kurama's paw.

Naruto severed the chakra link and returned fully to his body.

Just like inside the seal, he was still wrapped in tailed beast chakra.

He took a step—

CRACK!

One of his tails smashed a wooden bench in the hallway.

At that exact moment, Hiruzen Sarutobi and several shinobi arrived at the front door.
