Chapter 89 - Chapter 89 - The ember reignites

It was Sly.

After the wall of the room was destroyed, Sly seemed to be in a sort of uncontrolled rampage that a huge part of the ship was damaged by him.

I can see what is going outside since there is already a huge opening on the wall.

Sly gave several deafening ROAR in which I saw that his dragon appearance has changed, in which he looks more wild and that he has a long tail.

Lion ignored him as he continued to embraced me, while trying to glance around to see where he can move us away from the destroyed wall.

Oh for the love of.

Everything is in chaos. It seems that nobody is enthusiastic enough to continue with the mission.

The other cabins are already damaged as I can see the others looking like they are one foot away from the grave.

Are they all starving themselves?!!

I'm touched that they grieved for me but I don't want them to harm themselves.

I yelled in frustration as I can't do anything as usual except maybe float around near my body.

Lion is cradling me to his chest, singing softly some sort of a song as he looked at me with tenderness.

Everyone is ignoring Sly's rampage.

If this goes on, everyone will end up dying except for Bahar as I can't see him anywhere.

They are supposed to continue with the mission despite me being dead. Why is nobody making an effort to finish the mission?

And why am I concerned about the mission? I have nothing to gain from it.

Maybe except the fact that Lion HAS to do it because of his stupid contract.

Sigh.

Then I remembered my goal.

And I can't accomplish my goal if I continued to be dead.

To my great reluctance, I called Bahar.

....

Suddenly, everyone collapsed, unconscious as Bahar suddenly appeared before me.

He gave me a triumphant smirk as he went towards my body.

I yelled at him, telling him that I want to talk to him first before allowing him to abuse my dead body if that's the cost of asking for his help.

He grinned as he took my body away from Lion's embrace, carrying it as he stood in front of me.

Then we made an agreement.

....

In exchange for letting him drink my blood anytime he craved for it, he would find a way to make everyone continue with the mission.

I warily asked him why he is willing to help me in which he just shrugged and told me that my blood will taste even better if I'm alive.

Why that lecher!!!

He added that he has something he needed to get for a very long time.

Then to my surprise, he touched my lips in my spirit form, speaking some sort of weird language in which something glowed on my lips.

He grinned wickedly, telling me that he put a spell on me in which I can't tell anybody about our agreement.

That sucks.

....

He sat down on the floor, taking his time on sucking the blood from my neck that I'm beginning to think that he must be some sort of a vampire from the Netherworld.

He seemed to find it amusing as he immediately stopped sucking my blood and laughed heartily.

He told me that the vampires are among the lowest of the low in the Netherworld and how could I think that about him?

But his eyes seemed to tell me that I'm close but not close enough.

Now I'm determined to find out his true identity.

....

Bahar seemed satiated as he placed my body back on Lion's arms. He stretched his arms and reminded me about our agreement in which I begrudgingly nodded.

Something seems to be different about him after he drank my blood.

He looks a bit stronger.

But my blood has no magical properties. I'm just a human.

Something seems to be missing in the puzzle.

I heard a snap in which the pack slowly became conscious.

Lion hurriedly clutched my body towards his chest as Bahar slowly approached him.

Then Bahar told him that he just came from a certain island in which he heard a very interesting rumor that will surely bring him joy.

Life suddenly returned to Lion's eyes as Bahar told him about something he heard from the island inhabitants.

....

Everyone became determined to go towards the island.

The ship was fixed in a flash and everyone started to look a bit normally as they all took a potion that will revitalize their body.

Alpha resumed his position in which he made the ship go faster with determination in his eyes.

The rest resumed their training as Lion placed my body in some sort of a recliner chair, bundled up with several blankets in which he glanced towards it from time to time.

It looks weird but I won't complain as I prefer to see everything outside than being stuck inside the room.

My face looks like it's sleeping peacefully though I'm being constantly reminded of the fact that I am already dead.

So weird.

....

We finally arrived on the island in which everyone, except Sly went down and visited the Ariki or the local chief of the island.

Sly placed me on his lap while he sat down on the recliner chair, embracing me tightly as he looked towards the sky.

He murmured something about doing the secondary mating ritual again.

Honestly, I don't mind doing the secondary mating ritual again as Sly's blood helped me a lot as I seemed to get injured more often lately.

And also, I'm getting to be fond of Sly.

Sly seems to be saying something, in which he nuzzled my cheek while looking at my face with yearning in his eyes.

I wish I could go near him as I'm curious to know what he is saying towards me.

He held my face with his other hand and slowly closed his eyes while placing a kiss on my lips. Tears flowed down on his cheeks as he continued to kiss me.

....

After what seemed to be several hours that passed by, the rest of the pack returned in which Sly asked them about the rumor.

The Ariki told them that he knows a way to help them in their predicament but they have to kill the enormous monster that prevented them from trading with the other islands.

I have a feeling that this specific monster is one of the guardian monsters guarding a shard.

Then we set sail towards the location of the monster.
