Chapter 110 - Chapter 110 - A soothing balm

Yes.

Nobody can see me but they can still smell me.

Sigh.

I returned the invisibility bracelet inside my bag as the guards kept following me. They continued to nuzzle against my body in which I gave up trying to run away from them.

One of the guards looks like a tiger in which I asked him if I can ride on his back, making the others hiss towards him in which I gave them an angry face, making them roll around me as they tried to nip on my feet.

The situation would've been funny if it weren't for the fact that Sly got poisoned and Ghost was knocked out cold.

I can hear roars and snarls at the podium in which I ignored.

Good riddance.

As I rode Tiger (I named him in which he seems happy) towards Sly and Ghost, I began thinking of ways on how to neutralize the poison on Sly's body and to soothe the trauma that Ghost experienced.

Ha.

I'm so tired but I have to find a way to heal them first.

I was so engrossed with my thoughts that when Tiger tried to speak, I nearly fell off from his back as I was surprised on hearing his voice.

The catnip should be wearing off by now but it seems that the guards continued to act like they are still exposed to the smell.

Strange.

Oh well.

I needed help anyway.

Sly is panting and sweating so hard that I'm terrified that the poison had already spread towards the rest of his body that his body's natural ability to heal itself cannot catch up.

I must think of something that can neutralize the poison.

What makes it difficult is that I have no idea what kind of poison he has so I needed to think of a cure that can heal any type of poison.

To make it worse, he's a dragon and dragons are immune to several things.

Time is ticking in which Sly started to cry out in pain.

I'm beginning to panic when suddenly I remembered stealing some scrolls from the palace.

The problem is that I don't know how to read it.

Desperate, I asked Tiger if he knows how to read magical runes in which to my relief, he knows how to read, same with the other guards.

Thanking him and the rest of the guards, I took out all the scrolls that I stole in which they exclaimed that most of the scrolls I had are rare and only creatures who belonged to the upper class can afford them.

I can't afford it either.

They asked me what I am looking for in which I told them that I needed a high leveled scroll that can purify an ailment.

One of the guards commented that I can just use a basic purify scroll in which I told them that basic scrolls aren't effective against dragons.

They didn't expect that Sly is a full fledged dragon and was even more surprised on learning that Sly has an ultimate form which was rare.

I heard a guard yelling with excitement as he found a high leveled purify scroll in which he hurriedly gave it to me.

The problem is, I don't know how to activate it.

Someone mentioned that I can try to tear it instead of reading it in which I followed.

A glow surrounded Sly's body in which his skin's color began to turn normal, though his wound is still there.

The guards tried to organize my scrolls while I bandaged Sly's wound. He started to breathe normally though he is unconscious.

Ghost is unconscious too which leads me to a problem.

I can't carry them both and also, I can't fly.

Tiger nudged me in which he told me that they finally managed to organize all the scrolls that I have and told me the purpose of each one.

They separated the scrolls needed for combat, healing and so on.

Good thing that there's a scroll for travelling to a place with companions in which I remembered Lion using it before when we went to a client's house.

I thanked them as I pulled Sly and Ghost towards me in which the guards looked at me sadly.

I gave them a grin as I assured them that I might return here again someday in which they all cheered up.

Then I tore apart the scroll and we went back to the castle.

....

Now the hard part starts now.

I'm already exhausted and now I have to pull both of them inside the workroom as it would be weird if I place both of them inside Sly's room or Ghost's room. They can't go inside my room with Lion either. If I put each of them in their respective rooms, I would get sick as I would go back and forth between their rooms trying to take care of them.

My back felt like breaking as I pulled and pushed their bodies towards the workroom.

They are so heavy!

I nearly cried with frustration as they are bigger than me as I estimated their heights to be around more than 6 feet.

And I'm only 4'11.

Finally, I managed to bring them inside the workroom in which I properly positioned them, with Sly lying on his chest as he still has a wound on his back. I placed Ghost on his back in which I used a scroll that will make him unable to move as I'm not sure if his sanity is okay or else both Sly and I will die.

I'm so exhausted but I have to take care of them first.

I took some pillows from my room with Lion in which I placed it under their heads. I covered them with blankets, trying to soothe them as Sly had some sort of nightmare and Ghost began to mumble something that his voice sounds like he's in pain.

I used one of my bandanas to soak in cold water as I tried wiping their faces and necks as they are sweating a lot.

They began to cry out in their sleep in which I sang to them all sorts of comforting songs, caressing their hair in which I spoke to them all sorts of comforting words.

I didn't sleep at all since they kept whimpering or crying in their sleep.

Sly's wound is almost healed as I tried putting some salve on it that I brought from earth in which it helped speed up his body's natural healing powers.

As for Ghost, he had less nightmares as his body began to relax during his sleep.

I gave them potion to drink for their sustenance in which I had to lift their upper body and pour the liquid slowly inside their mouth or else they might choke.

I don't know how many days have passed as I'm becoming more like a zombie as I can't sleep.

Good thing that they began to look better in which I'm looking forward to seeing Lion again at the palace as I am planning to sneak inside.

I took a bath, relaxing for a bit and went back to my room with Lion.

I tried to sleep but I can't. I'm too exhausted even when I drank some energy portion.

All I'm thinking of is to see Lion.

I missed him a lot.

I went back to the workroom in which I saw Sly and Ghost sleeping peacefully. Sly's wound is gone and though I'm not sure about Ghost's sanity, he looks like having a bit of peace returned to him.

He is still unable to move on his own though for Sly's safety.

I covered myself with a cloak and used another bandana to cover my nose and mouth.

As I pulled the cloak over the upper part of my face, I say a little prayer for everyone, hoping that we all might be together again one day.

Then I wore the invisibility bracelet and tore up a traveling scroll.

Lion, I'm on my way to see you again.

....

Now that I know what to do, I removed the invisibility bracelet as wearing a magic item might alert the magic users so I had to rely on stealth.

There's not too many creatures in the hallway as they have some kind of an event at the throne room.

Good.

I saw a group of warriors coming out from the dungeon in which they laughed, telling each other that they are getting bored nowadays as the monster isn't aggressive and wild anymore and that they can finally enjoy themselves at the event.

Lion's sanity is back?

I bit my lip to keep myself from crying as I tried to prevent myself from being noticed by the guards.

Luck must be on my side as several alluring female creatures invited the rest of the guards into the event.

Soon, the place became empty.

Which led me to another problem.

Where to find a key that can open Lion's dungeon cell.

Wait.

I don't need a key.

I remembered taking a class in which a former burglar taught us how to open a lock without using a key.

I was bored at that time in which I took the class that was advertised on the wall of a sketchy looking shop.

Good thing it came handy this time.

I silently went inside the dungeon, keeping my footsteps as light as possible as I glanced around in case there might be a guard in which to my relief, it was empty except for Lion.

Lion is still in his ultimate form but isn't wild anymore unlike before.

He seems like he is sleeping as he is lying on his side in the corner of his dungeon cell.

Quietly, I opened the lock using lock picking tools that I brought with me from earth that I bought from the former burglar that was a bit expensive.

Just a little bit more.....

Yes!

Finally, it opened.

I silently went towards Lion when he suddenly growled.

Uh-oh.

He is still awake.

I froze, thinking of what to do when suddenly, I felt myself beginning to panic as he started to stand up.

Oh my word, he is humongous!

I'm beginning to shake in fear as I'm not sure yet if his sanity has finally returned.

Then he turned his body and looked at me.

....

I can't move.

I just stood there shaking in fear as I stared back at him.

Suddenly, he swatted me with his claws in which I was thrown in a corner.

I gritted my teeth as I see blood dripping from my shoulder.

Curses.

I should probably go.

I held my shoulder in which I began to wobble as I remembered too late that I haven't slept for several days, only relying on the energy potion in which I must've drink 1-2 times? I'm not really sure.

My shoulder started to hurt as I tried to go out in which I saw Lion trying to approach me slowly.

My head starts to spin in which I finally fainted.

I'm so dead.
