Chapter 116 - Chapter 116 - Chaos wins the day

I need to be discreet.

But how?

I tried to recall what I had observed at the palace. Of course, I don't need to stand out this time, meaning I had to be somewhat outstanding in my looks but not too much in order not to bring attention to myself.

Hmmm.

I know!

....

I remembered that I saw several pretty beings in the palace that looked like nymphs, elves, fairies and others that I forgot what they are.

They looked similar to what the fantasy books usually depicted them with a little twist. Still, most of their overall appearance are what I'm familiar with, giving me an idea.

I took a bath then changed into a fantasy styled Hanfu costume that I brought from earth.

Because I was bored back on earth, I tried all sorts of stuff just to distract myself from being depressed or suicidal.

Also, I was obsessed watching Chinese fantasy films that there was a time that I didn't sleep for 3 days straight, just to binge watch several movie series.

Now you have an idea what I wore.

Then using the techniques I learned from several makeup classes back in South Korea, my face became more exquisite. Now all I need is contact lenses then I'm done.

I do hope this isn't expired yet. Making a quick calculation in my mind, I realized that using it now is just on time as it will expire in a month.

Good thing I also brought my colored hairspray as it wasn't in my plan to bring it.

....

Since I noticed that nobody seems to have a multi colored hair, I made a mixture out of berries and along with the hairspray, created an ethereal multicolored hair that's definitely a stand out.

Oops.

But it is too late to change it.

I stared at myself in the mirror as I looked like a goddess fantasy character.

Hair that has the color of bubblegum, cyan colored fantasy Hanfu costume and exquisite looking face with light silver eyes.

Wait.

I looked like a personification of their sky here!

In short, I looked like a sky goddess! Though they don't have any gods or goddesses here, but still!

I made a mistake. Several in fact.

I definitely would stand out as this is not discreet.

Especially as I wore several hair accessories that are not seen here.

But I'm wasting too much time here.

Ah!

I should wear a cloak and a veil. I'm confident that they won't recognize me....

Unless you stare at me for a very long time.

....

I "borrowed" a cloak from Lion's closet as he has several cloaks that I haven't seen him wear before. I selected the white colored cloak as it is neutral and doesn't stand out as several of the female creatures at the palace wore a lot of white colored clothing.

Covering my nose and mouth with a white veil, I'm confident that this time nobody will recognize me.

Rummaging my magic bag, I found a teleportation scroll that I somehow forgot to transfer to my other magic bag that contains my magic item stuff. Good thing I organized my things or else Sly will confiscate this bag as this contains several hair raising stuff that will give the pack several heart attacks.

With that, I teleported myself to the palace gardens.

....

I managed to blend in somehow.

Several interested male creatures and some females looked my way which I ignored. Underneath my cloak, I gripped the sling of my magic bag as I'm feeling nervous.

I should act confident.

Now, where is the way to the dungeon?

It took me a lot of time to finally found the hallway towards the dungeon as I don't want to ask anyone as I'm already bringing too much attention to my appearance despite covering my half of my face with a veil and my body with a cloak.

Several creatures are trying to get inside the throne room as a huge crowd is stuck in the doorway, giving me a bad feeling.

I wonder what's the event?

Oh well.

I better focus on trying to go to the dungeon.

A familiar voice screaming of pain stopped me in my tracks.

Soon, several familiar voices followed suit in which there's a mixture of cursing and agonizing screams in which I heard someone crying out my name.

CURSES!

They got caught!

I should have known!

I felt my hands shaking as I tried to calm myself as I'm getting really, really, REALLY FURIOUS.

There's no time to lose.

I should imagine myself as the personification of the goddess of chaos.

I seemed to remember Rahab's clue about something in the palace in which I have a bad feeling that there might be demons around here that are in disguise.

Good thing I brought my detachable buddhist staff in which I hurriedly assembled.

Now I should make sure that my other hand is holding a bottle of holy water.

....

I removed my cloak and veil, placed it inside my bag as I straightened up my posture.

Be confident and act like a goddess.

My grip towards the holy water and staff tightened, feeling my legs shaking as I'm nearing the entrance of the throne room.

I heard several gasps and murmurs while the creatures gave way as I slowly entered the throne room.

I kept my chin up, trying to act confident while my staff made a bit of tapping sounds, with the rings making several tinkling sounds.

Slowly, all the creatures fell silent as I finally stood in front of the crowd.

Lion! Sly! Ghost! Orm! Alpha!

What in the world did they did to all of you??!!!

They looked terrible!

Several sizzling wounds in their bodies that looks raw, their faces and bodies bleeding everywhere as their extremities are attached on several chains.

Lion's neck is also attached to a chain in which there's a faint sound of the skin being burned.

They are all panting with pain as they gritted their teeth, trying not to cry out in pain that failed immediately as several magic users sent several magical attacks towards them, making them scream in pain.

I HAD ENOUGH!

I don't want to stand here not doing anything! If they die, then I want to die with them!

I placed the holy water inside my top then took out several stun grenades.

Say hello to the goddess of chaos!

....

Several loud BANG sounded simultaneously as I threw the stun grenades towards the magic users using all my anger.

The rest of the creatures screamed as they ran towards the exit in which I ran towards the magic users.

Sure, I felt a slight buzzing in my ears but I was already used to it back on earth while I had my training. I remembered that I had nightmares for several weeks after experiencing it.

The magic users screamed with pain as they tried to cover their ears in which I threw several smoke grenades, providing me the perfect cover.

Now's a good time to find out if there are demons at the palace.

I hurriedly covered my nose and mouth with my veil then I took out the bottle of holy water while my other hand gripped the Buddhist staff.

I hope this is effective against demons.

As I tried to run around the smoke, sprinkling holy water everywhere, I heard several hissing sounds and screams of pain much to my dismay.

CURSES!

I can't see them but I know there are several demons around me.

I kept on sprinkling holy water everywhere in which when it ran out, I used my Buddhist staff to hit them on their body as I can faintly see the outline of their bodies.

Though I seemed to strike several normal creatures during the process in which they yelled curses towards me.

Nobody realized besides me that the palace has several demons already. This is serious.

But as Rahab put a spell on me, I can't tell anyone.

The smoke began to die out in which I threw several more smoke grenades, trying to strike the rest of the magic users, making them fall down on the floor unconscious.

To my horror, I don't have any more holy water.

Ah.

I still have my staff though and a necklace that has a cross on it. I wrapped the necklace around my hand as I tried another way of attacking the creatures around me who are still conscious.

Hitting them alternately using my staff and with a deadly punch on their bodies in which heard several yells of pain in which sounds of sizzling came out from where I hit them.

I'm getting tired.

I tried not to pant as they may hear me.

Suddenly, a huge gust of wind removed the smoke in which I saw the leader of the Chieftain Monarch's council standing beside the Chieftain Monarch.

Ah.

I forgot about those two.

But to my delight, I found out that I took down dozens of magic users and guards in which only a few are left.

I can see Lion and the pack glancing around in widened eyes in which Lion noticed me.

I'm in trouble.

Please don't recognize me.

Then Sly saw me with a horrified look in his eyes in which the rest of the pack turned to look at me.

What the.

Those morons! They don't know the word discreet!

Then the Chieftain Monarch cleared his throat.

I'm in big trouble!

Hope that my death will be fast.

....

To my surprise, both he and the leader of his council have amused looks on their faces.

As there is no point on trying to hide anymore, I removed my veil in which I heard my name being whispered from the pack.

The Chieftain Monarch called me towards him, telling me to sit beside him on the throne.

Um.

Where should I sit?!

There's no more space as he is fat and filled out the entire seat.

Surely he doesn't mean that I.....??!!!

....

Yes, he did mean it.

I'm sooo uncomfortable.

He did try to give me a bit of space in which I tried hard not to grimace.

Both he and the leader of the council gave a chuckle as they told me that I made them enjoy a show that they don't want to punish me on what I did.

Is that a threat?

They began to talk all kinds of things in which I tried hard not to look at the pack.

Since they both are in a good mood, I asked them if they can release the pack in which the leader of the Chieftain Monarch's council nodded towards him.

I can hear several chains clanking on the floor in which I saw the pack being released instead of Lion.

The leader of the Chieftain Monarch's council whispered to me, in which he told me that Lion will be released on the condition that I will receive a magic attack instead of him.

He asked me if I'm willing to do that in which I immediately agreed. With an amused look in his eyes, he told me that it will be painful in which I noticed the Chieftain Monarch looking at me with pity in his eyes.

I would do anything just for Lion.

Then he told me to stand in front of Lion as he performed a spell in which the pack cannot move.

As I slowly walked towards Lion, I saw the relieved looks on the pack's faces as they have no idea what I'm about to do.

I smiled at Lion in which he looked at me tearfully, telling me that I looked beautiful.

Slowly I held his face with my hands and kissed him in which I can feel his tears as his eyes filled with joy looking towards me.

I have a feeling it would soon change.

....

Then with a smile towards the rest of the pack, I walked towards in front of Lion in which I took out my veil and bit on it while kneeling down on the floor while facing the Chieftain Monarch and the leader of his council.

I can hear confusion between the pack in which they tried to ask me what I'm doing.

Lion began to tell me to stand up in which suddenly I can feel excruciating pain on my chest.

I bit my veil hard in which tears fell down on my cheeks as I tried not to cry out in pain.

I grasped the edges of my clothing as I tried to tolerate the pain in which I began to sweat and pant a lot.

The pain will truly take away your sanity if you don't have a strong will.

To make myself distracted from the pain, I began thinking of ways on how to kill the Chieftain Monarch and the leader of his council.

I can hear Lion and the pack in heartbreaking cries in which they pleaded to let them have the pain instead of me.

No.

They have suffered enough.

My blood trickled on my clothes as I started to feel faint.

Ah.

My blood will attract the demons around here.

I don't have any strength to fight them off.

I'm sorry, Lion. I did my best trying to save you.

I'm sorry, Sly. I just loved Lion too much.

I'm sorry, Alpha. I wasted your sacrifice.

I'm sorry, Orm. For giving you another trauma.

I'm sorry, Ghost. The nightmare isn't over yet.

....

Seeing me not crying out in pain made the Leader of the Chieftain Monarch's council stop.

I fell on the floor as I removed the veil from my mouth, panting as I'm feeling light headed.

I did it.

You will be free now, my Lion.

I looked up to see the Leader of the Chieftain Monarch's council standing in front of me, complimenting on my recklessness and strong will.

With a wave, Lion's chains are broken and he hurriedly went towards me and carried me in his arms.

I can hear the rest of the pack being able to move as they stood besides Lion.

Lion is barely restraining his anger as his embrace began to tighten.

Then I noticed the leader of the Chieftain Monarch's council's eyes began to glint. He told Lion that he will give him a reminder on his next job as a cuff begin to appear around my neck.

Ah.

I know what this cuff is.

This cuff will kill me if Lion fails in his job.

Now I know who kept assigning jobs to Lion in which I have a suspicion that Alpha worked for him too.

Is he the one who they make contract to?

That question is the last thing I remembered before fainting.
