After a family dinner, Su Ru chatted with the Yan siblings in the living room for over half an hour before going up to the attic bedroom with Yu Suye to have a private talk.
With just the two of them alone, Yu Suye got straight to the point. "Mom, you showed up unannounced this time. Did Dad and Grandpa send you?"
Su Ru looked awkward and stammered for a moment before finally nodding in admission.
This left Yu Suye feeling frustrated.
"I knew it. Whenever I asked you to come over before, Mom, you always said it wasn't convenient or you didn't have time."
"You were so quick to come this time. Turns out you were just following orders."
"Mom, just tell me. What's the real reason you're here?"
Su Ru took her daughter's hand as they sat on the bed together. "Su Ye, I don't have any special purpose. It's just that your dad and grandpa regret what happened, so they asked me to come see you."
