Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: Eat My Final Blow

But he had no time to check his injured left hand. The Wild Boar Beast was charging at him again.

The charging Wild Boar Beast was incredibly ferocious, gathering its Spiritual Energy into its two sharp tusks.

It knew full well that the body of this delicate-looking human was incredibly fragile. As long as its two sharp, Spiritual-Energy-infused tusks could stab him even once, the human before it was as good as dead.

"Grunt…?"

The charging Wild Boar Beast saw the delicate-looking human standing perfectly still, which made it wonder, 'Has my ferocious charge scared him stupid?'

FWOOSH.

Lin Li raised his injured left hand. A faint golden Spiritual Light flashed in his palm, and a small Fireball the size of a pigeon's egg appeared there.

He poured Spiritual Energy into it, and the pigeon's-egg-sized Fireball in his palm rapidly expanded. In the blink of an eye, it swelled to the size of an apple.

"Take this…"

Cupping the apple-sized Fireball in his hand, Lin Li swung his left arm and hurled it at the rapidly approaching Wild Boar Beast.

"Grunt…"

The Wild Boar Beast now understood why the delicate-looking human had stood his ground. It turned out he had a trump card.

The small Fireball, radiating intense heat, flew straight at it. The Wild Boar Beast wanted to dodge, but it had already built up too much speed in its charge. It was simply too late.

BANG.

The small Fireball smashed squarely into the Wild Boar Beast's forehead. The explosion knocked it silly, and the splashing flames scorched the fur on its back.

THUD, THUD, THUD…

The sound of rapid footsteps grew closer and closer. Although the Wild Boar Beast could clearly hear them, its head was dizzy and throbbing with pain after taking that Fireball, and it couldn't open its eyes.

Lin Li closed the distance and arrived in front of the Wild Boar Beast. He raised his right hand, and the Spiritual Longsword, glowing with a faint golden Spiritual Light, stabbed fiercely toward the beast's head.

SQUELCH.

The Spiritual Longsword pierced one of the Wild Boar Beast's eyes. Taking such a heavy blow, the beast let out a loud howl, stimulated by the searing pain, and violently shook its head.

This was where his inexperience showed. The Wild Boar Beast's sudden, violent headshake produced a burst of immense force that made Lin Li lose his grip on his Spiritual Longsword.

Losing your weapon in the middle of a fight with a Mutant Beast was the worst mistake one could make.

Lin Li knew he had made a terrible mistake. He quickly retreated to create some distance.

Having lost its connection to its master, the faint golden Spiritual Light radiating from the Spiritual Longsword embedded in the Wild Boar Beast's eye socket immediately went out.

"GRUNT…" The heavily wounded Wild Boar Beast wailed in continuous pain.

It raised its head one moment and lowered it the next, twisting it left and right, trying to dislodge the Spiritual Longsword deeply embedded in its eye socket.

But Lin Li had put considerable force into that last stab, and the Spiritual Longsword was stuck fast in its eye socket.

Blood dripped from the eye socket, falling to the ground and staining the verdant grass red.

"Take this final blow!"

The Wild Boar Beast, writhing in agony, suddenly heard a shout from the human who had wounded it so badly. It quickly looked toward the source of the sound with its remaining eye.

WHOOSH…

A Fireball the size of a soccer ball entered the Wild Boar Beast's vision. It didn't need to waste any effort judging the Fireball's power.

The apple-sized Fireball from before had already knocked it senseless; the power of this new one, several times larger, was easy to imagine.

The Wild Boar Beast tried to dodge the large Fireball flying toward it, but just as it moved its right foreleg, its body suddenly went limp, unable to muster any strength.

It turned out the Spiritual Longsword embedded in its eye socket had damaged its nerves, preventing it from coordinating its movements.

With such a turn of events at a life-or-death moment, the outcome was a foregone conclusion.

The Fireball, radiating intense heat, struck the paralyzed Wild Boar Beast square in the head.

BOOM…

The Fireball's explosion created a deafening roar. The heatwave spread out for several meters, scorching all the fresh grass on the ground.

THUD.

Having taken Lin Li's Fireball Attack head-on, the Wild Boar Beast fell onto its side, crashing heavily to the ground with a dull thud.

It was dead. The Wild Boar Beast, a creature with the power of a Tier One Peak, had been killed by Lin Li's Fireball.

Its head had been blasted open, leaving a large crater. The wound was charred black and gave off an unpleasant, burnt smell.

HUFF…

Lin Li gasped for breath. The fierce battle with the Wild Boar Beast had consumed a huge amount of his Spiritual Energy and stamina.

The constant mental tension during the fight had also put immense psychological pressure on him.

'If I didn't have my Fireball Attack as an ace in the hole for this fight,' Lin Li muttered to himself while looking at the very dead Wild Boar Beast, 'I would have had no choice but to make a pathetic escape to the Mysterious Small Island when it charged at me.'

This thrilling battle gave Lin Li a much deeper understanding of how ferocious Mutant Beasts could be.

CHIRP, CHIRP, CHIRP…

A flock of birds that had been watching the spectacle from a distance looked on in astonishment at the human who had emerged victorious.

That ferocious Wild Boar Beast had been the strongest Mutant Beast in the area. They never expected it to be killed today by this somewhat frail-looking human. It was truly a surprise.

...

SQUELCH.

After catching his breath, Lin Li walked over to the dead Wild Boar Beast, grabbed the Spiritual Longsword stuck in its eye socket, and pulled it out with a great heave.

As soon as he pulled the Spiritual Longsword free, he immediately went to the edge of a mud puddle and used the water to wash the bloodstains off the blade.

After cleaning it, he meticulously inspected the Spiritual Longsword. Seeing that it wasn't damaged, Lin Li let out a long sigh of relief.

After all, this Spiritual Longsword had cost him half his savings. If it had been damaged in this one battle, Lin Li would probably have been too heartbroken to sleep tonight.

After confirming his Spiritual Longsword was undamaged, Lin Li turned back to look at the two Mutant Beast carcasses, and his face immediately broke into a wide grin.

"Haha, that rabbit beast probably weighs around forty-five to fifty-five pounds, and the Wild Boar Beast… a conservative estimate would be at least three hundred and thirty pounds!

Before, I bought three pounds of Wild Boar Beast meat at the market for three hundred yuan. After removing the inedible parts, these two Mutant Beast carcasses should sell for twenty to thirty thousand yuan!"

'I need to hurry and get these two carcasses back to the city...' With only thirty yuan to his name, Lin Li was desperate for some cash to fill his empty wallet. The feeling of being broke was unbearable.
