"Why is the traffic so bad today?"
"This route is always this congested. Aren't you used to it yet?"
"It's not usually this bad. There must be an accident up ahead, right?"
"Probably not. I just checked online. If there was an accident, there would have been a report about it."
The bus, stuck in traffic, hadn't moved an inch for a long time. The passengers were all murmuring amongst themselves.
Lin Li gripped a handrail with his right hand, standing near the exit of the bus. He pulled his phone from his pocket to check the time.
'Damn! Su Yue's already off work by now. I'm so late. If I'd known, I would've just taken the subway.'
After getting home and taking a shower, Lin Li had immediately left for the after-school enrichment center run by Su Yue's aunt.
He had thought he was leaving well before Su Yue got off work, and that he'd even have to wait for her a while when he arrived.
