Liu Jialin and her team received a mission from their superiors and immediately rushed to the destination.
After discovering the Mutant Beast's tracks, they never imagined that someone would be out here in the wilderness, deep in the night, locked in a fierce, heated battle with such a ferocious creature.
"Captain, should we go help?" the rookie Investigator, Xiaowang, asked Liu Jialin in a low voice.
Liu Jialin shook her head. "We can't interfere in a battle of this caliber. If we tried to force our way in, we'd likely do more harm than good and just get in the way."
"So we're just going to stand here and watch?" Xiaowang asked.
"That's right. For now, all we can do is watch. We have to wait for reinforcements from the Bureau to arrive before we can move in to help that man deal with the Mutant Beast," Liu Jialin said.
The five Investigators then concealed themselves in the dense grass, watching nervously as the man and beast clashed in the distance.
