"What good will I be?" Cecilia Adler had a gut feeling May Sutton was up to no good.
"To talk some sense into her. You and Vivian are around the same age, so she's more likely to listen to you. At a critical time like this, you wouldn't still hold a grudge, would you?" Not only was May Sutton's reasoning flawless, but she was also goading her.
Cecilia Adler saw no way to refuse and could only murmur her assent.
But she had already decided to say nothing at all.
