"Aurora, what are you doing in here!" Mrs. Sterling exclaimed as she walked in, her eyes filled with disbelief.
Aurora's expression faltered. "Am I not allowed in here?"
Seeing her granddaughter's question, Mrs. Sterling smiled and shook her head. "Of course not. There's nowhere in this house you can't go. I was just surprised to see you here. This is the first time you've set foot in her room since your sister passed away."
"What..." Aurora's eyes flickered, but she quickly looked down to hide her reaction.
Mrs. Sterling smiled, though a flicker of sorrow crossed her eyes. She walked over to Aurora and gently stroked her soft hair. "Aurora, tell Grandma, did something happen while you were out?"
"I'm fine. Why do you ask?" Aurora averted her gaze from Mrs. Sterling's concerned eyes.
Mrs. Sterling smiled gently. "It's nothing. It's just... you seem different today. Not like you used to be. I was a little worried."
