Chapter 59 - Chapter 59: The Maid's Complaint

This all happened before she was eight. She had seen the bracelet on her mother's wrist and, having fallen in love with it, asked for it. But she was too little, her arm too slender to wear it, so she had carefully put it away for safekeeping.

Later, Sharon Sterling—who was still called Sharon Dalton back then—came to their home and saw the bracelet in her room. Aurora could tell immediately how much Sharon adored it. Sharon's words were full of hints, hoping Aurora would give it to her.

However, Aurora liked it far too much to give it to Sharon.

Except, the bracelet vanished that very day. Aurora searched for a long time but couldn't find it, and her mother even scolded her for it, saying she didn't take care of her belongings.

So, when Aurora saw Nanny Vaughn wearing that same bracelet at the luncheon, she understood exactly why it had disappeared all those years ago.
