Laura took a few seemingly casual steps back. Her heart was already racing from just a pat on the head.
"Dr. Shaw, was there something you needed?"
Aiden Shaw, of course, had noticed Laura's subtle movement. A smile played on his lips as he stepped forward, closing the distance between them once more.
"It looks like you still owe me a lot of instant noodles, don't you?"
'Heh, he's here to collect a debt.'
Laura gave a light cough and walked toward the living room as if fleeing the plague. "Sorry, Dr. Shaw, but the noodles will have to wait. I'm starting a new project tomorrow, so I won't have time to cook them for you."
"Is the job out of town?"
Aiden's playful demeanor vanished, and a flicker of reluctance crossed his deep, dark eyes.
'If this girl is going to be filming out of town, we probably won't see each other for a long time. The hospital is so busy every day, and it's not like I could just take time off to visit her on set.'
