Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: A Different Kind of Transmigration

"Water..." Gu Jiaojiao mumbled, thirsty in her sleep. She habitually reached toward the head of the bed.

Her small hand inevitably brushed against the person lying beside her. The searing heat made her pause for a moment.

Slowly opening her eyes, Gu Jiaojiao, still half-asleep, propped herself up and saw a man lying next to her.

The man had a buzz cut. His chiseled face featured thick eyebrows, dark eyes, and deeply defined, sharp features. His gaze was piercing.

But even that couldn't hide the heroic yet cold aura in his eyes. The short stubble on his chin added a touch of wildness.

His tightly pressed lips seemed to signal his current displeasure, and he radiated a frigid air that made it hard to look him in the eye.

As Gu Jiaojiao stared at him, the coldness in his eyes transformed into a piercing arrow, startling her so much that she fell back onto the bed with a THUD.

A quick glance told her he wasn't pale; he wasn't the pretty-boy type of handsome youth.

He was the ruggedly handsome type, a tough guy with bronze skin and an extraordinary presence.

Gu Jiaojiao, who had always been picky, felt that this man's looks and aura hit all the right notes for her.

Sprawled on the bed after being intimidated by his glacial gaze, Gu Jiaojiao had a defiant, impulsive thought.

She rolled over and pressed herself on top of him. Her dream-self was so weak; even rolling over took every ounce of her strength.

Gu Jiaojiao ran her hands over the man's firm arms and his well-defined pectoral muscles.

As her hands traveled downwards, she felt his entire body tense up.

He stared at her grimly, his eyes dark and bottomless, his body as taut as a fully drawn bow.

The man was bare-chested, and beads of sweat trickled down his chest...

...across his six-pack abs...

...and over his sexy V-lines...

Suddenly, she wasn't thirsty anymore. Instead, her mouth was full of a different kind of water—saliva.

Gu Jiaojiao was the pampered daughter of a wealthy family. Her upbringing demanded she be reserved; she wouldn't just drool over a handsome man.

So, the reserved young lady swallowed her saliva with a loud GULP...

Gu Jiaojiao, who had always been too busy for a boyfriend, had finally dreamed up a man who was not only at her mercy but also inhumanly handsome.

Hehe~

As Gu Jiaojiao's hand reached for the man's waist,

"Gu Jiaojiao, are you trying to die?"

The man roared with uncontrollable rage. His voice rolled like deep thunder, nearly shattering Gu Jiaojiao's eardrums.

His eyes were like a wolf's, ready to tear her to pieces at any moment...

Gu Jiaojiao laughed in exasperation. She was young, beautiful, rich, and successful. Countless excellent men had pursued her.

This was the first time in her life she'd ever made the first move—even in a dream—and she was being rejected? 'Unacceptable.' Defiantly, she leaned in for a kiss.

Before her lips could even touch his, the man flung her to the ground.

Thrown to the floor like that, Gu Jiaojiao's head buzzed, and she saw stars from the pain.

She let out a whimper and yelled, "You hurt me!"

Though she tried to sound intimidating, her voice came out like a kitten's meow.

Su Shuochi: "..."

Still in a daze, Gu Jiaojiao felt that something was wrong. She touched the floor—it was packed earth.

'Where are my expensive Kerman vase and my Persian rug?'

Even more unbelievable, the fall had left her completely unable to move. Gu Jiaojiao was no delicate, frail woman.

On the contrary, taking on several adult men bare-handed was nothing for her. Yet now, a man had easily thrown her off the bed?

The more she thought, the stranger it felt. She instinctively turned her head.

Her gaze fell upon a date-red table holding a pair of thermoses decorated with red peonies.

Not far off stood a double-doored wardrobe painted with mandarin ducks playing in water. A large, red "Double Happiness" character was pasted in the center of its mirror.

The furniture in the room was simple, and combined with the swept-clean-to-a-sheen dirt floor, it all looked rather shabby.

In the mercury mirror, she could clearly see a delicate, oval face. The cheeks were slightly hollow, making a pair of almond-shaped eyes seem exceptionally large.

'Holy crap!'

'Who is that in the mirror?'

Gu Jiaojiao blinked, and the person in the mirror blinked back.

Then, a chaotic torrent of memories that didn't belong to her flooded her mind...

'What else was there not to understand?!'

Gu Jiaojiao had just returned to her country after attending an international medical conference.

She learned that her grandfather had spent a fortune to get her a heart-shaped gemstone pendant.

He told her it was a portable medical space, and he had already stocked it with hundreds of billions' worth of medical supplies.

Her grandfather also told her she could put other supplies into the medical space as well.

Ignoring her travel fatigue, Gu Jiaojiao had rushed to move the inventory from the warehouse of a large shopping mall under her Gu family's corporation into her space.

Overly excited, she couldn't fall asleep for a long time. In her daze, she had seen this top-tier handsome man.

When she fully woke up, Gu Jiaojiao was already tragically sprawled on the floor. It wasn't that she had given up and wasn't planning to get up on her own.

Rather, the original owner's body wouldn't allow it. Her mind was clear and she could think, but her body was completely devoid of strength.

'What a waste! All that darned space and those tens of millions in supplies, and I didn't even get to enjoy them!'

Gu Jiaojiao, who had never been married in her past life, now suddenly had a husband—and a scumbag who would hit his wife at the slightest disagreement!

The change in identity caught Gu Jiaojiao off guard, but her greatest strengths were her adaptability and her refusal to admit defeat.

Even if you lose the battle, you don't lose face. Gu Jiaojiao glared viciously at the man on the bed and spat out a threat.

"You. Are. So. Dead."

Su Shuochi's brow furrowed deeply, the killing intent in his eyes receding. He had no feeling from the waist down.

His new little wife hadn't woken up to curse or show disgust toward him. Instead, she had rolled over, sat on top of him, and started groping him wantonly.

Especially when she touched his numb waist—she was surely finding another way to humiliate him.

So he had roared at her, a mix of shame and anger, hoping she would stop.

He, who was known in the army as Zhan Lang, had never imagined he would one day be groped so brazenly.

After he yelled at her, not only did she not stop, but she even tried to kiss him. It was only in extreme anger that he had pushed her away.

But his new wife... he had no idea how she had been so delicately raised.

Her waist was so slender it seemed one hand could snap it in two, and her wrists were so fragile they looked like they could be crushed with a simple squeeze.

Though furious, he hadn't dared to pull her away forcefully. Heaven was his witness, he had truly only given her a light push, yet she had somehow fallen off the bed.

Su Shuochi looked at the little woman on the floor. Her expression was now lively, lacking the arrogance and condescension she had when she'd first arrived two days ago.

The incessant cursing was also gone. Now, her clear, bright eyes held a trace of confusion, which was actually a little playful and cute.

She was making a fierce face as if she wanted to beat him up, but for some reason, she just stayed on the floor instead of getting up to do it.

"Jiaojiao, why are you on the floor?" A resonant female voice rang out from the doorway.

Gu Jiaojiao turned to look. A middle-aged woman with firewood ash still on her clothes appeared, indicating she had rushed over from the stove.

Her sallow face was marked by two large, dark circles under her eyes, and her haggard expression was filled with panic.

The middle-aged woman strode forward, scooped Gu Jiaojiao up with both hands, and easily placed her on the bed next to the man.

"Jiaojiao, don't blame Chi. No matter how anxious he got, he couldn't get out of bed to pick you up. You've really been wronged."
