Inside Ye Duo's cave, the Half-beastman Warrior stared sorrowfully at the dark red stain on the ground.
That was his cub, gone before it was ever born.
The Half-beastman's face was etched with grief. In stark contrast, Ye Duo, lying weakly in a nest of straw, wore a look of pure impatience.
"Can you clean this blood up? I'm exhausted and want to rest."
The Half-beastman's body went rigid. He looked up at her in disbelief, but seeing her impatient glare, his heart suddenly grew calm.
He took the only Beast Skin in the cave, carefully scooped the bloodstained earth into it, gave Ye Duo one last look, and walked out.
Watching his retreating back, Ye Duo curled her lip dismissively. 'He's just a Half-beastman. Maybe I would have cared before, but now I'm the tribe's Witch Disciple. I have Beastman Warriors fawning all over me. Why would I give a second thought to a Half-beastman Warrior like him?'
