Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Transmigrated as the Vicious Female Supporting Character

Gu Jiaojiao stared at the old wooden roof for a long time, still unable to process what had happened.

'I just went to a family banquet, had a couple too many drinks, and went upstairs to rest for a bit... and now I've transmigrated into a book?'

And the man she'd slept with.

'I thought he was the husband my parents had picked out for me!!!'

'As it turned out... it wasn't a downgrade!'

Like all soul transmigrators, Gu Jiaojiao received all the memories of the body's original owner. Based on how events were unfolding, she knew she'd transmigrated into a period novel she had recently been reading.

The novel's author was her younger cousin, and she had written the book out of extreme jealousy.

Her cousin was average-looking, and their family's financial situations were worlds apart. She was probably bitter that their fathers were biological brothers, yet one family was filthy rich while the other was a hopeless case. One daughter lived the life of a pampered heiress from birth, while the other was an ugly duckling who fell short in every aspect. So, her cousin had secretly written a book, using Gu Jiaojiao's name to create the ultimate, vicious villainess.

When she found out, not only did she not mind, she even read the book with great relish. She just enjoyed seeing her cousin's frustrated expression, knowing she couldn't stand her but was powerless to do anything about it.

But she never, ever expected that she would transmigrate into the book herself.

To express her resentment, her cousin made the Gu Jiaojiao in the book almost an exact copy of her—except her personality was the polar opposite of her stunning looks.

The original owner of this body was a sent-down youth assigned to the Qingshan Team. She had traveled with others, and among them was a young man with a refined look. He liked to wear white shirts, had a scholarly air about him, and immediately captured the original owner's attention.

Jiaojiao fell in love with the male lead, Yun Hao, at first sight. To win him over, she slaved away for him, washing his clothes and cooking his meals. She was even willing to pay for his dates with the female lead, and she did it all gladly...

But the male and female leads were the canon couple. Their relationship progressed by leaps and bounds, and they announced on the spot that they would be engaged by the end of the month. When Gu Jiaojiao heard the news, for some reason, she actually believed that the male lead had feelings for her—he just hadn't realized it himself.

In order to provoke Yun Hao and make him realize his true feelings,

she seduced a man even more handsome than the male lead, with the sole purpose of making him jealous.

Having only recently arrived at the Qingshan Team, Gu Jiaojiao didn't know that Leng Yuan was the village hooligan everyone feared.

It wasn't that Leng Yuan was particularly evil, but that the man was completely devoid of emotion. The way he looked at anyone was as if he were staring at an inanimate object. Meeting his gaze was enough to make one's heart tremble with fear.

Everyone in the village was afraid of him, so the team leader designated a plot of land at the foot of the mountain and had Leng Yuan move there, far away from the village.

Besides his personality, there were also his family circumstances.

The Leng Family had once been a prominent household, not just rich but also noble. In the past, such a family would be one that everyone tried to curry favor with, but in this era, it was definitely not a good thing.

Fortunately, the Leng Family was charitable. They had opened their granaries during years of famine to save many people and had also donated their entire fortune to support the country. This was how the Leng Family managed to survive through that special period.

Even so, Old Master Leng had passed away during that movement.

Even Leng Yuan's parents were reported for privately hoarding gold. Although nothing was found, they were still sent down to an even more arduous labor farm.

The villainess seized on this point, knowing that with his poor family background, no one would care if he was wronged.

So she grew bolder and drugged Leng Yuan directly.

But Leng Yuan would rather freeze in the river all night than touch her, which directly infuriated the villainess.

The very next day, she went to the commune and reported Leng Yuan for hooliganism.

In those years, the crime of hooliganism was taken very seriously. Coupled with Leng Yuan's bad family background, it made him suffer a great deal.

Watching Leng Yuan suffer, the villainess was smug and went right back to pestering Yun Hao.

This villainess was lazy, greedy, and malicious. She was blind in both eye and heart, and astronomically stupid. Her outrageous schemes were endless.

She had no idea that her false accusation had enraged Leng Yuan.

Before long, the villainess was subjected to Leng Yuan's insane revenge. Not only did she have to watch the male and female leads live happily ever after, but Leng Yuan also cut off her chance to return to the city, leaving her with no choice but to toil in the fields for food.

But the original owner was someone who couldn't carry a load on her shoulders or lift things with her hands. After two years of hardship in the Qingshan Team, she actually starved to death one winter night.

When she was found, her body was already stiff.

The book described that after the villainess died, Leng Yuan passed by. He didn't even bother to spare a single glance for the dead Gu Jiaojiao.

Thinking of his sinister face and those eternally emotionless eyes... Gu Jiaojiao's legs trembled involuntarily.
