Jiang Jun and Zhao Qichen had left, and Pei Yan came downstairs.
Cheng Qingci looked at her and pushed a freshly made buckwheat pancake toward her. "I added two eggs and didn't use too much buckwheat flour. See if you like it."
Pei Yan accepted it graciously. "Thanks, Qingci. I'll make you breakfast next time."
"Don't," Cheng Qingci said, waving her hand and then explaining, "I only got up early today because I wanted to have breakfast with everyone. I usually sleep until nine or ten, so I'm afraid I'll have to miss out on your breakfast."
Pei Yan smiled. "That's nice, being able to sleep in."
Cheng Qingci replied, "It gets really busy when I'm working, though. Sometimes I have to work overtime every day to meet a deadline. Aren't you busy too? I've noticed the light in your room stays on until very late."
