"Where are you going?" Archie Lockwood demanded coldly, shoving away the woman in his arms.
Eleanor Bishop turned her wheelchair, keeping her back to Archie. A mocking smile lifted the corners of her lips. "I'm tired now. Surely Mr. Lockwood wouldn't deny me some rest?"
No matter how furious and dissatisfied Archie was with her, he had no choice but to swallow his temper the moment she mentioned she was tired and needed rest.
He strode over to stand in front of her. Looking at her pale face and red eyes, a flash of pity crossed his heart, and his tone lost its previous icy edge. "I'll take you to rest."
"No need. I can manage on my own. You should just stay and keep your fiancée company," Eleanor said coldly, shaking her head in stubborn defiance.
Hearing her words, Archie laughed instead of getting angry. His unblinking gaze locked onto her expression. "Oh? Are you jealous?"
