Ares watched Lu Xiao board the hover car and leave before turning to go back inside.
Just as he closed the door, he heard a voice. "Lu Xiao is going out so late. She must be on a date, right?"
Ares looked up at the young female standing on the second floor. "She went to handle some work."
"Hah, and you believe that? That's what my mother told my Father, but the next day she brought home a side husband." Lu Huan looked at Ares mockingly, her eyes filled with undisguised contempt.
Ares showed no emotion at her words. "It's getting late. You should get some rest."
His words were clearly meant to end the conversation, but Lu Huan had other ideas. With Lu Xiao finally out of the house, she had to vent the frustration that had been building for so long. If she couldn't take it out on Lu Xiao, wasn't Ares the next best thing?
'He's just a side husband,' she thought. 'I doubt Lu Xiao really cares about him that much.'
