Phoebe Huxley paused, a thoughtful look on her face. 'Getting a dog really is necessary. I'll get an even fiercer one to kill that vicious dog next door!'
"Hmph!"
Phoebe Huxley forced a sound out through her nose. Though it was just a grunt of acknowledgment, it still counted as a response. The others were secretly surprised; it seemed the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law had really made up!
Raina finished washing her clothes first and headed home carrying the wooden basin. Tang Xiaonan followed close behind her. A trace of kindness appeared on Raina's face. In truth, she, like Phoebe Huxley, had a fierce look with fleshy cheeks. However, Raina was more tactful in her dealings with people than Phoebe Huxley was.
"Mama, I'm going to Grandma's house."
Tang Xiaonan told Phoebe Huxley, who nodded. Phoebe felt it was strange, too. 'Why has our daughter suddenly gotten so close to her grandmother? She thought of her when there was meat to eat, and now she's sticking to her side.'
