"Ms. Callahan, let me borrow your brooch for a second." Grace Winslow pointed directly at the brooch on May Callahan's chest.
Her work badge was pinned to it.
May Callahan was confused, but she unpinned it and handed it to Grace anyway.
Grace squatted in front of Ivy White, raised her hand, and slapped her hard across the face twice.
Ivy's already pale face immediately flushed red.
"Grace, you…"
"I'm saving her," Grace said without looking up. She grabbed Ivy's hand and viciously jabbed the sharp point of the brooch into her fingertip.
"AHH—" Ivy shrieked, sitting up from the floor and reaching out to shove Grace away.
Grace grabbed her by the wrist. "See? You're awake now. That barefoot doctor's remedy really works."
Ivy was so furious her chest heaved, and her gaze was laced with venom.
