Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: I Want to Get Married, Bring the Form

Two men stepped forward at the same time. Each grabbed one of Claire Sinclair's arms and hauled her away. Their movements were rough, showing no tenderness whatsoever.

'Hey, hey, hey, what is going on?!'

Claire Sinclair struggled violently. "Who the hell are you people? Why are you grabbing me? Let me go..."

"At least tell me your names!"

"Where are you taking me?"

"Hey, hey, I'm talking to you..."

...

「Ten minutes later.」

Claire Sinclair was brought into a high-end bridal boutique.

Several staff members methodically applied light makeup, then forced her into a pink, floral-patterned wedding dress. The entire process took only twenty minutes.

Once she was changed, the men in black suits pushed her back into a car.

The car drove for ten minutes before finally stopping in front of the marriage registration bureau.

Claire Sinclair was escorted into the marriage registration bureau, and her eyes were immediately drawn to an imposing figure just inside the entrance.

The man was dressed in a navy-blue suit that highlighted his broad shoulders and narrow waist. His expression was solemn, his dark eyes exuding a piercing chill. He resembled a supreme emperor, radiating an innate kingly aura.

His handsome face was indescribable, and a single glance was enough to make Claire Sinclair's girlish heart feel a pang, as if it had been pierced by an arrow.

Adrian Quincy, twenty-eight years old, his identity a mystery. His background was said to be incredibly powerful, but Claire Sinclair had no idea what he actually did.

The only reason Claire Sinclair knew of him was because her twin sister, Quinn Sinclair, had told her about him.

If her sister were still alive, she would have had to call this man "brother-in-law."

But tragically, two years ago, her sister, who had been Adrian Quincy's personal bodyguard, had met with an accident and died during a mission.

Claire Sinclair had only seen this man once, two years ago at her sister's funeral.

He looked much the same then as he did now, but back then, his eyes had been filled with the sorrow of losing his beloved, and a trace of tenderness for her sister had remained.

Now, his eyes were devoid of any human emotion—arrogant and ruthless, daring no one to approach.

Claire Sinclair took a step back and looked around, only to find more than a dozen men in black suits standing guard inside the marriage registration bureau. She had no idea what was happening.

'But then again,' she thought, 'why would an enigmatic and powerful figure like Adrian Quincy show up at the Aethelgard marriage registration bureau?'

'He can't be here to get married, can he?'

'Where's the bride?'

'Her sister had been dead for two years; it was about time this man had a new girlfriend.'

Just as Claire Sinclair was curiously searching for the bride, Adrian Quincy suddenly spoke to her. "What are you standing there for? Come here."

Claire Sinclair froze, pointing to herself. "Mr. Quincy, are you talking to me?"

Adrian Quincy's cold eyes narrowed slightly. Without a word, he strode over to her, grabbed her wrist, and pulled her into the main hall for processing.

Feeling the irresistible force on her wrist, Claire Sinclair panicked. She struggled and said, "Um, Mr. Quincy, I think you've made a mistake. I don't know you that well."

"Don't waste time. Come here," the man ordered in a deep voice.

'This guy is insane.'

"Even if you were my sister's boyfriend, you have no right to force me to do anything! I'm not my sister; I have no obligation to obey your orders!"

'Great. She'd said all that, but this Quincy guy hadn't listened to a single word.'

Adrian Quincy dragged the girl to a window and said to the clerk, who was staring blankly from behind the counter, "I'm getting married. Get me the forms."

'M-Marriage?!'

Claire Sinclair thought she had misheard, but seeing Adrian Quincy's dead-serious expression, it was clear he wasn't joking.
