"Host, what's going on?"

Zhang Yan's heart pounded with fear. She wasn't oblivious to the strangeness of the situation, but she thought, 'There's no way my own son would ever hurt me, right?'

Su Nian raised her hand and drew a talisman in mid-air. The golden talisman floated for a moment before quickly sticking itself to the wall.

Zhang Yan felt the hallway seem to brighten a little.

But Su Nian stopped, her eyes narrowing slightly as she stared at the mangled, bloody thing.

"Your son is here..."

"What?"

Zhang Yan instinctively turned her head. But the thing was already lunging at her, its body contorted in a grotesque posture.

Zhang Yan was stunned and terrified. Before she could react, the thing's hands were already wrapped around her neck.

"Ghk... help..."

At the critical moment, Su Nian flicked a piece of talisman paper from her hand.

The talisman paper stuck to the thing's body, and in an instant, there was a SIZZLE of burning flesh.

The strange hands let go.
