Chapter 75 - Acquiring the Sharingan, the Chunin Exams Begin!

"By the way, where's Minato?" Jiraiya abruptly changed the subject.

Yuki Seisui clicked his tongue twice but didn't call him out. Instead, he explained, "Minato went to find Kushina."

Hearing that, Jiraiya blurted out, "That kid still hasn't given up, huh?"

"Well, he's starting to show a bit of my charm from when I was younger!"

"Hahaha!"

After a hearty laugh, Jiraiya turned to look at Yuki Seisui and Uchiha Haru. "I've heard about everything," he said.

"The old man told me."

"Since you two plan to train for the next three years, once the Chunin Exams are over, I'm heading out to travel."

"I'll come back in a few years and pick up your training again."

"Oh, and make sure not to stir up trouble. Aside from the Mizukage, all the other Kage have arrived in Konoha. Try not to provoke them."

He definitely didn't want to be the one cleaning up after them.

Yuki Seisui nodded, this was within his expectations.

"Jiraiya-sensei, where are you planning to go?" Haru asked curiously. Aside from a single mission outside the village to deal with some bandits, she hadn't really traveled before.

Jiraiya hesitated, but still answered, "I'm thinking of checking out the Land of Rain."

"Then maybe wander around for a while."

He'd long been searching for the Child of Prophecy.

At one point, he thought Seisui might be the one, but later dismissed the idea himself.

Despite Seisui's talent, he just didn't match the profile from any angle.

This time, Jiraiya intended to search more thoroughly.

"Anyway, let's not talk about that." Jiraiya grinned, rubbing both of their heads, earning a glare from Seisui.

"I will get you back for this!"

"Hahaha! Well then, come back and rub my head after you surpass me!" Jiraiya looked delighted, as if he had found Seisui's weak spot.

This brat was always tearing him down, finally, some payback!

Just as Seisui was about to retort, he seemed to think of something. Rubbing his hands together with an awkward smile, he asked, "Well, how about I let you pat my head again?"

"Sure!" Jiraiya happily placed his hand on Seisui's head.

"Now, can you tell me the intel on the most talented genin from the other villages?"

This little brat had set him up!

"Nope." Jiraiya shook his head flatly.

Seeing how fast Jiraiya rejected him, Seisui's expression shifted. He shoved the hand off his head.

"You old white-haired geezer!"

"One day I will rub you bald!"

Jiraiya blinked. That was fast.

Before he could react, Seisui clapped his head in the blink of an eye, then grabbed Haru and bolted.

"You brat!" Jiraiya stormed after them, shouting as he watched their fleeing figures. "No respect for your elders, this is an outrage!"

He rubbed his smooth, silvery hair and muttered uncertainly, "Could that kid really rub me bald someday…?"

He never doubted Seisui would surpass him, in fact, he hoped every one of his students would surpass him.

But if surpassing him meant rubbing him bald, then that was unacceptable.

After pulling Haru away for a fair distance, Seisui looked back and saw no sign of Jiraiya chasing them. He finally let out a sigh of relief.

Still catching her breath, Haru looked at him and asked, "Aren't you afraid Jiraiya-sensei will get back at you later?"

"What's there to be afraid of?" Seisui grinned.

"The exams are coming up."

"Once they're done, I'll be heading to the Panda Clan's territory. He won't be able to find me!"

"Give it a few years, he probably won't even remember this."

Seisui had everything calculated in his head.

Little ol' Jiraiya? Hah! Ridiculous.

They found a random place to eat, then lazed about together until sunset before parting ways and heading home.

Back at his house, Seisui opened the recruitment interface.

It was time for his monthly ten-draw pull.

As always, he wrote a name on a slip of paper.

But this time, he didn't write that bastard Yellow Ape, just "Lord Fujitora."

"Lord Fujitora, bless me!"

Even though he had been training in seclusion for a month, he still sneaked out at night to beat up Minato regularly. It didn't interfere with his draw schedule at all.

He'd even bought a few types of incense just for offerings.

Once everything was set, Seisui glanced at the paper bearing Lord Fujitora's name. Three incense sticks were burning beside it.

The moment he focused, the recruitment interface began to spin.

[Tenten (Shippuden) Fragment x1]

Seeing Uchiha Sasuke's name, Seisui paused. He looked at the paper on the table with Lord Fujitora's name and incense in front of it.

"How could I use such cheap incense for Lord Fujitora?!"

He tossed the budget incense aside and replaced it with the most expensive kind he had.

"As expected, Lord Fujitora is nothing like that Yellow Ape scum. A true legend!"

After the draw, all the fragments disappeared, except for one chibi character: Uchiha Sasuke (Sharingan).

The next moment, Seisui felt a cool sensation in his eyes, as if a special chakra had fused into his eyeballs.

Grabbing a mirror, he looked into it. His eyes hadn't physically changed, but when he focused, closed his eyes, and reopened them,

The 1.5 tomoe Sharingan appeared.

[Uchiha Sasuke (Sharingan)]

Skills: Fire Style: Great Fireball, Sharingan, Chidori

["I must kill that man. I will."]

This draw was a massive win.

The Sharingan was the highlight, but learning Chidori was another huge bonus.

Chidori was an A-rank Lightning Style jutsu created by Kakashi Hatake, requiring the Sharingan's dynamic vision to execute properly.

It gathered a large amount of chakra in the hand, forming high-voltage electricity to pierce through enemies. A perfect assassination technique.

Pleased, Seisui bowed deeply toward Lord Fujitora, then went to sleep content.

The Next Morning

Right on time, there was a knock on Seisui's door.

"I'm coming!" Seisui got out of bed and opened the door, to see Minato standing there with breakfast in hand.

Minato sighed as he handed it over. "Seisui, I can't be your alarm clock forever."

"I know, I know," Seisui replied as he took the breakfast. "That's why we have Haru."

As expected, Haru arrived just a few minutes later.

When she saw the open door and noticed Minato was already there, her heart sank.

Again?! Minato beat me here?!

She clenched her fists in silent determination.

Next time, I'll be first!

"Haru," Seisui said, suddenly remembering something. "I'll teach you a new jutsu later."

Minato looked hopeful. "What about me?"

But Seisui didn't even glance his way.

He planned to teach Chidori to Haru. The technique required the Sharingan, and Haru, having awakened her two-tomoe Sharingan, was the perfect candidate.

Haru looked at him with mild confusion, but still nodded.

Just like that, the two made their plans while Minato stood there sulking.

==========

A month flew by in the blink of an eye.

Haru and Seisui spent their days training at the Panda Clan's territory. Each morning began with meeting up to beat up Minato, followed by their separate routines, Seisui and Haru training, and Minato going off to find Kushina.

And now, the day has arrived.

The Chunin Exams… had begun!
