Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 A Lucky Start!

"Bang!"

A loud crash echoed through the sky!

On the road, a young man was sent flying. Before dying, he took one last, unwilling look, then smiled with relief.

It was a bright red truck.

  The protagonist, dead!

  Douluo Continent, Aolai City!

"Five hundred Federal Credits! Little rascal, you've got good luck today!"

In the garbage recycling station, Old Man Yu stroked his beard and chuckled at the little boy in front of him.

This young boy was very sensible despite his age, and quite popular in the neighborhood. If Lin Xuan hadn't insisted on living alone, he would have been adopted by the neighbors long ago.

"Hehe, I just happened to catch Uncle Mang opening his forge, and picked up some scraps."

Lin Xuan chuckled, scratching the back of his head.

"Lin boy, you guys should be awakening your Martial Souls soon, right?"

Old Man Yu handed Lin Xuan the folded Federal Credits, asking as he did so.

In Douluo Continent, a Martial Soul can be said to determine a person's fate. If someone is lucky enough to awaken a powerful martial soul, they can instantly rise to become a noble soul master.

It can be said that martial soul awakening is like a second birth for an ordinary person; every year, there are countless golden phoenixes flying out of the chicken coop.

"Tomorrow is the awakening ceremony!"

Lin Xuan said, his eyes filled with anticipation.

He had been in the Douluo Continent for six years. His parents perished in a shipwreck when he was three, a classic orphan start. Fortunately, with the help of his neighbors, Lin Xuan had grown up.

He only hoped to awaken a top-tier martial soul tomorrow; he didn't even dream of twin martial souls.

"You're such a clever kid, you'll definitely become a soul master!"

  Old Man Yu said kindly.

"Then I'll take your good wishes, Uncle Yu,"

Lin Xuan replied with a smile, then turned and left.

The next day, Lin Xuan got up early, excitedly heading to the nearby Red Mountain Academy.

The street in front of the academy was packed with people early in the morning, all parents bringing their children for the awakening ceremony. Everyone was in small groups, except for Lin Xuan, who stood out conspicuously alone.

  "Lin Xuan! Come this way!"

Just as Lin Xuan was about to join the long queue, a gentle voice suddenly called out from the front. Lin Xuan looked up and saw a middle-aged man in his thirties or forties waving at him.

The man wore a plaid shirt and gold-rimmed glasses, giving him a scholarly air.

  "Uncle Tang!"

Lin Xuan walked over and said to Tang Ziran.

Lin Xuan often bumped into Tang Ziran when he went to Mangtian to collect forging scraps, and the two had become acquainted. Tang Ziran both admired and felt sorry for Lin Xuan's self-reliant and independent style.

  "Perfect timing!"

Tang Ziran pulled Lin Xuan over, turning to a little boy hiding behind him.

"Wu Lin, this is Lin Xuan, whom I told you about before. He should be a few months older than you, call him brother!"

  "Brother Xuan!"

Tang Wu Lin opened his big, bright eyes and curiously looked at Lin Xuan.

This boy, about the same age, was dressed in somewhat worn clothes, his trousers slightly faded, but he stood there with his back ramrod straight, exuding an aura of righteousness. Tang Wu Lin couldn't help but feel a bit of goodwill towards him; he often heard his father talk about Lin Xuan.

"Wu Lin! If anyone bullies you at school in the future, tell Brother Xuan, and I'll protect you."

Lin Xuan smiled and patted his chest enthusiastically.

Tang Wu Lin still had the divine sense of the God King Tang residing within him. If he could befriend Tang Wu Lin, Lin Xuan would definitely choose to do so!

Even if he didn't have a cheat system now, with all the backup plans Tang San had left for Tang Wu Lin, any one of them would be enough to give him a hard time.

If this were a novel, Lin Xuan might have chosen to punch Tang San and kick Shura, but he'd transmigrated.

Now, it was time to be pragmatic! After all, Tang San had transmigrated 20,000 years earlier.

Besides, his impression of Tang Wulin was alright; aside from being a bit love-struck, he was acceptable. Moreover, Tang Wulin was still just a kid, with room for guidance.

  "Okay! Thank you, Brother Xuan!"

Tang Wulin felt a warmth in his heart and smiled sweetly at Lin Xuan.

Tang Ziran, watching the harmonious scene, was very pleased.

  "Tang Wulin, Lin Xuan!"

Soon, it was their turn. Tang Ziran led them into Hongshan Academy.

The three followed the teacher, winding their way along the school's paths for several minutes before finally arriving at a teaching building.

"Parents can stay here!"the teacher stopped and turned to Tang Ziran.

  "Children, go on!"

Tang Ziran said gently to Lin Xuan and Tang Wulin.

"Dad! I will definitely awaken a powerful martial soul!"

Tang Wulin walked towards the teaching building, then suddenly turned back and shouted to Tang Ziran.

  "Go for it!"

Tang Ziran raised her fist and cheered him on.

  "Brother Xuan, let's go!"

Encouraged by Tang Ziran, Tang Wulin followed Lin Xuan into the teaching building with a grin.

The awakening rooms here were divided into seven floors, each with a separate awakening room. Lin Xuan and Tang Wulin separated and went to different awakening rooms; Lin Xuan went to the second floor.

When he arrived at the awakening room, a bald man wearing an ancient robe was already waiting there.

The man's orange robe was embroidered with some dark patterns in the form of soul beasts. Unlike tens of thousands of years ago, now the awakening of martial souls for commoners was handled by the Spirit Transmission Tower's Spirit Masters.

"Little friend! Don't be afraid, stand in the middle."

The Spirit Master saw Lin Xuan enter and smiled gently.

Hearing this, Lin Xuan followed the Spirit Master's instructions and stepped forward with surging excitement.

I wonder what martial soul I will awaken!

Whether he becomes a club model or a sex worker, it all depends on this.

"Concentrate, relax, I'm about to begin!"the Spirit Master instructed, seeing Lin Xuan ready.

Under Lin Xuan's curious gaze, the Spirit Master's fingers glowed with a soft white light. Then, he slightly pointed to the air, and the white light from his hand shot upwards, like fireworks blooming in the night sky, scattering in all directions.

As the white light subsided, beautiful patterns lit up on the surrounding walls, from the ceiling to the walls, finally converging at Lin Xuan's feet.

Countless white rays of light surged into Lin Xuan's body; he felt a tingling power flowing from the soles of his feet into his body.

The scene before him gradually blurred, and a void of spiritual universe appeared before him, an endless darkness, but with the influx of white light, a strange power from the depths of this spiritual universe seemed to be emerging.

After an unknown amount of time, a sharp pain suddenly shot through Lin Xuan's palm, like being pricked by a needle, and he opened his eyes.

A small, green grass appeared in his palm. Unlike ordinary plants, this grass wasn't delicate; instead, its tip subtly revealed a sharp edge.

"This is Green Leaf Grass? No, it feels a little different,"the Spirit Master said, looking at the grass in Lin Xuan's hand with a puzzled expression. While Green Leaf Grass was better than a useless martial soul like Blue Silver Grass, it clearly lacked this overtly sharp edge.

  A mutated martial soul!

Lin Xuan muttered to himself, facing the Spirit Master's doubts.

His martial soul had mutated; this Green Leaf Grass would be more appropriately called Green Leaf Sword Grass.
