Chapter 25 -  Chapter 24 Seeking Advice

"Brother Xuan!"

Tang Wulin called out instinctively as Lin Xuan ran towards him.

A pang of shame shot through him; Brother Xuan was stronger than him yet worked so hard.

He would run ten more laps today!

Tang Wulin made a silent resolution, determined to emulate Brother Xuan.

Brother Xuan had said that hard work pays off.

Lin Xuan nodded to Tang Wulin, then looked at Wu Changkong beside him.

  "Teacher Wu!"

  "Hmm!"

Wu Changkong nodded slightly, replying calmly.

He didn't recognize the student, but judging from Tang Wulin's appearance, he was likely a first-year student.

"You three put on your armor! Run twenty laps first."

Wu Changkong waved his hand, and three black suits of armor appeared on the ground.

Tang Wulin took the lead, picking up the armor and starting to run, while Xie Xie reluctantly put it on with a bitter expression.

Gu Yue hesitated for a moment before stepping forward, but glared fiercely at Lin Xuan as she passed him.

  "How inexplicable!"

Lin Xuan muttered aggrievedly, but his mind was perfectly clear.

This guy was most likely another human incarnation of the Silver Dragon King.

Tsk tsk tsk! No wonder he's such a naive and innocent girl.

If you say Gu Yue is a weakling, she was later usurped by the Spirit Pagoda, a top human power, but if you say she's smart, Lin Xuan shook his head at her behavior.

Na'er is better, she only has one outstanding advantage—she's silly!

Gu Yue frowned and glanced at Lin Xuan. She had a feeling that he was talking badly about her, but she had no evidence. After thinking it over without finding a solution, she picked up her armor and ran towards the playground.

  "Hmm?"

Wu Changkong glanced at Lin Xuan, who was still standing to the side, and the meaning was clear.

Go do what you're supposed to do! Don't stand there!

Lin Xuan pretended not to see him and went straight to the point.

"Teacher Wu, I have some questions I'd like to ask you."

  "No interest!"

  Wu Changkong said coldly.

The number of people from Donghai Academy who wanted to learn from him could circle the school several times over. If he agreed to every single one, he'd go from a cool, aloof god to a kind, bald guy.

After saying this, Wu Changkong strode towards the sports field.

  "Uh!"

  Lin Xuan blinked. Quite aloof.

But this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. His eyes darted around, and a plan suddenly formed in his mind.

To deal with someone so aloof, the more indifferent they were, the less you could try to flatter them; that would only make them look down on you more. He had to be forceful!

  "Teacher! Please enlighten me!"

Without another word, a flash of blue light appeared in Lin Xuan's hand, and he charged forward with his sword. He unleashed his strongest sword strike in his normal state.

A surge of sword energy rose into the sky; Lin Xuan became one with his sword, the sharp blade pointing directly at Wu Changkong's back.

Lin Xuan had also held back, not using his soul skill to prevent Wu Changkong from giving him a serious beating.

  "Eh!"

Wu Changkong sensed the sharp sword energy approaching from behind and let out a soft exclamation before turning to look at Lin Xuan.

Facing Lin Xuan's all-out sword strike, Wu Changkong simply raised his hand and flicked his finger at the incoming sword, sending Lin Xuan flying with a "ding."

"Hehe! Truly worthy of being Teacher Wu! Impressive!"

Lin Xuan sheathed his sword and flattered Wu Changkong.

As the saying goes, one doesn't hit a smiling face. As a teacher, Wu Changkong couldn't very well keep chasing after a student.

  "Stop trying to be clever!"

Wu Changkong stood with his hands behind his back, looking at Lin Xuan with indifference.

Unseen by Lin Xuan, a drop of blood seeped from the finger that had just blocked Lin Xuan's attack.

Wu Changkong stared intently at the serious-looking Lin Xuan, his gaze deep. He had been careless and had actually been injured by the sword energy.

Although he hadn't used his soul power, he was still a Soul Emperor! The difference in their levels was at least four or five rings, which was enough to show that this kid's swordsmanship was extraordinary.

  "Follow me!"

Wu Changkong said, then walked straight out of the playground without waiting for Lin Xuan's reaction.

  "Roger that!"

Lin Xuan's face lit up with joy; it was a done deal!

They followed Wu Changkong for a while, finally arriving at a secluded clearing.

  "What's wrong?"

Under the shade of a tree, Wu Changkong stopped and turned to Lin Xuan.

Lin Xuan quickly stepped forward, bombarding Wu Changkong with questions about his swordsmanship.

  "Is your swordsmanship stagnant?"

Wu Changkong glanced at the humbly seeking instruction Lin Xuan.

If anyone else dared to ask Wu Changkong why their swordsmanship hadn't improved, Wu Changkong would simply slash them and tell them to get lost!

But Lin Xuan…

Wu Changkong recalled Lin Xuan's sword strike just now, a thoughtful expression on his face.

"Pick up your sword and attack me with all your might,"

Wu Changkong said to Lin Xuan.

  "Okay!"

Lin Xuan nodded, but instead of drawing his sword, he first removed the weights he was carrying.

 "Boom!"

Under Wu Changkong's strange gaze, several small metal pieces fell to the ground with a loud thud.

Could this kid be a Soul Master? Even from four or five meters away, he could feel the ground trembling slightly, indicating a weight of at least several hundred kilograms.

  "Teacher! I'm coming!"

Feeling lighter after removing his weights, Lin Xuan grabbed his sword and charged at Wu Changkong.

Seeing this, Wu Changkong reached out and grasped, producing an ice-blue longsword, its blade radiating a terrifying chill.

Already possessing a cold and aloof air, Wu Changkong's demeanor became even more frigid as he held the sword, like a peerless sword immortal descended to earth.

Facing Wu Changkong, Lin Xuan dared not be careless, using all his skills. In an instant, streaks of sword light flashed from his hand.

Wu Changkong calmly parried Lin Xuan's sword strikes, but as time passed, his gaze grew increasingly strange.

  "Alright! That's enough!"

After dozens of moves, Wu Changkong repelled Lin Xuan with a single sword strike. He gave Lin Xuan a strange look, inwardly sighing.

  Sure enough!

He had discovered Lin Xuan's strangeness. Lin Xuan's swordsmanship was too pure.

Wu Changkong's sword was an ice sword, perfectly suited to his martial soul, but Lin Xuan's sword was simply a sword, a swordsmanship refined to its extreme.

  "Who taught you your swordsmanship?"

Wu Changkong asked, frowning. In his view, Lin Xuan's approach was unorthodox.

  "Self-taught!"

  Lin Xuan replied.

Wu Changkong nodded; he had expected this.

"What sword techniques have you learned?"

"Just one basic sword move!

Lin Xuan scratched his head.

"Then your martial soul must not be a sword either!"

A rare smile appeared on Wu Changkong's usually cold face.

How did Wu Changkong know? Had he seen my information?

Lin Xuan paused, then nodded.

"Yes! My martial soul is a plant-type martial soul."

Although the name "Green Leaf Sword Grass" contained the word "sword," it wasn't actually related to swords; it was just sharper than ordinary green leaf grass. He simply called it that because he liked.

"I don't know what your martial soul is, nor have I seen any information about you."

Seemingly sensing Lin Xuan's thoughts, Wu Changkong suddenly spoke.

"Please enlighten me, teacher!"

Lin Xuan said, bowing with a clenched fist. This Wu Changkong seems to have some skill!

Wu Changkong smiled and accepted the bow, quite pleased with Lin Xuan's humble attitude.

"What do you think a sword is? How should one cultivate a sword?"

Wu Changkong didn't answer Lin Xuan directly, but instead asked with his hand in return.
