Chapter 12 - Goblin Raid 2

As the last goblin fell to the ground, Lena came to a stop, her chest barely heaving with exertion. She gave a small nod, her expression serene. "Let's head back," she said

However Julian decided to be unreasonable .

"Come on, let's keep going!" he exclaimed, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "We've already come this far, and I'm not ready to head back yet."

"Let's think this through Lord Julian, Our objective is only to slay this group of goblins, it would be wise if us to turn back to not face unnecessary casualties " Lylia said, trying to convince Julian to be reasonable, however it seems that the blockhead easy victory crowded his thoughts and he started feeling on top of the world.

Lena raised an eyebrow, but she couldn't deny the spark of curiosity that had been ignited within her. She had been holding back during the fight, and now she was itching to test her skills against more formidable foes. "Fine then, but we will all retreat at the sign of danger ," she said finally.

The others nodded in agreement, their confidence boosted by their initial success.

As they walked, the sound of dripping water and the faint rustling of unknown creatures seemed to grow louder, and the shadows seemed to twist and writhe around them. But Julian's grin never faltered.

Julian's grin grew wider as he taunted Leon. "Hey, a failure like you wouldn't know talent if it bit you," he said, his voice dripping with disdain. "I mean, seriously, you're so useless that I doubt you could even kill a goblin if your life depended on it."

He chuckled, clearly enjoying the idea. "You're just dead weight, Leon. We're the ones doing all the heavy lifting here. What's it like knowing that you're nothing without us?"

Julian's words were laced with venom, and his tone made it clear that he was enjoying every moment of belittling Leon.

...

The two pair of eyes continued to observe the bunch of humans that were intruding their cave, they found them interesting, since the first time an adventurer had came to scout the cave he knew he was bound to get visitors, but these bunch really allowed them to study human nature, or rather be entertained by it .

' Humans truly are interesting, he thought, as he observed two particular boys, none other than Leon and Julian.

He couldn't fathom why the kid with white hair was taking all the insults being thrown to him, he was far stronger than them all, yet why was he hiding his strength.

Strength were meant to be shown to all, one's strength is a source of pride, in this world the strong preyed over the weak, the weak had no place in this world, the weak bowed tothe strong and do their bidding, that was what he had learned for the past century he had lived as a Goblin. Now as a the Goblin king Kirka, he was bewildered.

Yet he couldn't fathom why a being like him was hiding his strength,

' They truly are fascinating ' He thought

'How long can he last though', he couldn't help but think.

"Let's test them them then, I will see how long he can hold out" He thought.

"Are you planning on sending the Goblin archers and fighters Kirka ?" Kurka couldn't help but ask

...

The new group of goblins was a stark contrast to the previous one. They stood taller and stronger, their bodies more muscular and menacing. The Goblin archers, equipped with crude but effective bows, stood at the back, their beady eyes fixed on the siblings.

Julian, still seething from his argument with Leon, charged forward with a battle cry, his greatsword flashing in the dim light of the cave. Lily quickly followed, her bow singing as she fired arrow after arrow at the Goblin archers.

Lylia on the other hand furrowed her brows, this wasn't part of the report, this was supposed to be am E rank quest, so what are goblin fighters and archers doing there, those were jobs meant for a Solid C rank adventurer party. Noticing their features and how the goblin archers were trying to cover the fighters it was clear that their intelligence was also on another level.

She felt something was off, there was only one option for them to take.

Lily's voice was laced with urgency as she shouted, "Retreat! We need to fall back, now! These goblins weren't part of the report, and we're outnumbered!" She grabbed Julian's arm, trying to pull him back.

But Julian shook her off, his eyes flashing with determination. "We can't just run now, we've got this! We're the strongest, we can take them down!" He sneered at the goblins, his confidence bordering on arrogance.

Lena's expression turned serious as she assessed the situation. "Julian, listen to Lily. We need to regroup and reassess. These goblins are different, and we can't take them on without a strategy."

But Julian refused to listen, his earlier victory clouding his judgment. "I'm the strongest here, I can take them down! You guys just watch!" He charged forward, his sword flashing in the dim light of the cave.

The goblins closed in, their eyes glowing with malice. Lily's eyes widened in alarm as she shouted, "Julian, no! Wait!" But it was too late. The goblins surrounded them, and the siblings found themselves fighting for their lives.
