Scanning the information on the panel and looking at the metal-encased pistol in his hand—which didn't even have a paint job—Luca's expression turned a bit strange.
Earlier, he had thought this experimental pistol manufactured by his family's company looked vaguely familiar.
But now that the panel identified it as the [Dominator] pistol, he actually felt it only bore a 20% to 30% resemblance to the weapon from the anime Psycho-Pass.
So, the so-called 'Core Component' isn't determined by visual similarity?
And the synthesis materials didn't mention a power source or ammunition. Is that because the Core Component inherently includes those parts?
Various thoughts flashed through his mind, but ultimately, Luca suppressed his curiosity for now.
Even if he wanted to attempt synthesis immediately, he didn't have the materials needed for the [Dominator] pistol at home.
It wasn't like he could replace the "Micro Projection Unit" listed on the panel with the brick-sized home theater projector they had in the living room, right?
He glanced at the battery indicator on the pistol's grip.
Gina had only fired three shots earlier, yet the battery was already down to the last bar.
This explained why, despite its considerable power, near-zero recoil, and minimal ion beam decay over medium distances, this pistol was still considered a semi-finished prototype.
Insufficient power supply and terrible sustained combat capability.
"Yeah, the exorbitant manufacturing cost is probably another reason."
He tucked the pistol into his jacket. Although the [Dominator] couldn't be synthesized yet, he happened to have the materials for another item right here.
He took off his backpack and rummaged through it.
He pulled out a peculiarly shaped monkey toy.
The toy held two somewhat comical "cymbals" in its hands and had a large wind-up key on its back.
As soon as he held the monkey toy, a semi-transparent blue panel popped up.
> [Jinx's Monkey Bomb]
> [Arcane World 1/5]
> Creator: Powder (Jinx)
> Core Component: Toy Monkey
> Synthesis Materials: 3 Unstable Energy Crystals
> Item Description: A toy bomb with a simple structure but immense power. Its destructive capability relies entirely on three Hextech crystals. Winding the key initiates an unstable timer. Capable of slow, short-distance movement. Triggered by repeated impacts to the unstable Hextech crystals, causing an explosion. Absolutely no safety features included.
> Note: Dear user~ before using this bomb, please ensure none of your friends or family are within the blast radius~
That's right. This toy from his childhood was also a synthesizeable "Core Component."
The synthesis materials were surprisingly "simple"—just one type of material was needed.
However, before this moment, Luca had no idea what kind of crystal in the real world would qualify as an "Unstable Energy Crystal."
With the sole material impossible to find, synthesis had been out of the question.
Fortunately, this wasn't a normal reality anymore.
Looking at the two headless Chitauri corpses in his living room, a spark of excitement flashed in Luca's eyes.
If he remembered correctly, in the movie Spider-Man: Homecoming, the villain Vulture built a lot of black-tech weapons by scavenging and modifying Chitauri tech.
And the purple energy crystals commonly found on Chitauri soldiers were highly unstable—so much so that they could explode just from being scanned by airport X-rays.
These purple crystals should meet the synthesis requirements.
No time to waste.
He walked quickly to the headless corpses, ignoring the gory mess on the floor, and began inspecting the bodies and weapons.
Both Chitauri soldiers were equipped with standard folding beam rifles. Not only were they not particularly powerful, but their construction was also quite compact.
Although they glowed with purple light, he couldn't figure out how to disassemble them quickly.
However, compared to the complex weapons and armor, the gleaming crystals embedded in the backs of the Chitauri's hands seemed to be telling him: Don't overcomplicate this.
After failing to pry a purple crystal loose, Luca simply picked up one of the Chitauri beam rifles. Using its bladed edge, he hacked directly at the corpse's wrist.
Two Chitauri corpses, four hands, four purple crystals.
Luca decided not to waste time prying the crystals out. instead, he started drawing a circular magic array directly on the floor.
He placed the toy monkey—the Core Component—in the center of the circle, and three of the severed hands with the embedded purple crystals in three corners.
Sure enough, the three purple crystals began to emit a faint white glow one after another.
It works!
Without hesitation, Luca placed both hands on the edge of the circle and mentally commanded: Synthesize.
Immediately, the light intensified, enveloping the circle.
When the light faded...
A bizarre-looking toy monkey stood in the center of the array. It held a blue spherical crystal between its cymbals, and two identical crystals were embedded inside its body.
The purple crystals embedded in the alien hands were gone, leaving only the cleanly severed hands behind.
"Huh? The purple crystals turned into blue crystals?"
Luca had assumed that for such a simple item, synthesis might just polish the crystals and place them where they needed to go.
But now it seemed that no matter what materials he used, the synthesized item would revert to its appearance from the original work.
The Chitauri purple crystals had transformed directly into blue Hextech crystals!
How was Luca so sure?
Because right now, one of the three blue crystals inside the [Monkey Bomb] was emitting that unique, faint white glow of a "Core Component"!
Carefully picking up the [Monkey Bomb], he unscrewed its detachable head and removed the glowing Hextech crystal from inside.
The pale blue panel appeared again.
> [Hextech Core]
> [Arcane World 2/5]
> Creator: Viktor
> Core Component: Hextech Crystal
> Synthesis Materials: 1 Stable Miniature Reactor, 4 Different Magic Runes
> Item Description: A stable, perpetual energy source possessing magical power. The ultimate aesthetic of Hextech. Provides limitless energy and the capability for biological Glorious Evolution—provided your body and mind can withstand the corruption of arcane and runic forces.
> Note: If you don't want to destroy the world... or yourself, it is recommended that you do not let it come into contact with any biological tissue.
Looking at this sudden description—"limitless energy," "Glorious Evolution"...
Luca had only one question.
"Is this even reasonable??"
