Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 - Paramecium: Open the Door!

Turn into a girl?

This Overseer may like girls, but he has no desire to become one!

Otto almost lost his composure, but just then, the system piped up again.

[Host is advised to actively complete the main story missions. Once a certain value turns negative, the Host's body may undergo changes that even a body-swap cannot reverse.]

Hey now!

Otto had severely underestimated the system's lack of a bottom line. What kind of twisted, demonic system had he been saddled with?

For a fleeting moment, he wondered if the original Otto himself had become the system and was now intentionally tormenting him.

But that was just a passing thought. Why would the original Otto mess with him? If he was that displeased, he could just kill him outright.

Just to be sure, Otto asked.

"System, I want to know... is the original Otto still alive?"

[The Host need not worry. You are the one and only Otto Apocalypse in this world.]

Hearing the definitive answer, Otto breathed a sigh of relief. Good lord, he had to transmigrate and still worry about the original owner making a comeback? This transmigrator gig was not easy.

Still, he wasn't actually worried about turning into Otto-chan. Getting a Herrscher to join Schicksal was ridiculously simple.

According to the current timeline, all he had to do was wait for Raiden Mei to awaken, and then for the main trio to enroll in St. Freya Academy.

[A warning to the Host: a Herrscher joining St. Freya Academy is not equivalent to joining Schicksal.]

Otto: ?

Joining St. Freya doesn't count as joining Schicksal?

Well, well, Theresa. So that's how it is! Your rebellious heart is obvious even to the system!

If the original plot were to unfold, Theresa would eventually lead St. Freya in rebellion against her grandfather after he captured Kiana.

But now that he had replaced Otto, who knew if the Paramecium would still become the Fire Moth. Himeko might not even have to die.

In a situation where these future events had yet to occur, the system had already determined that St. Freya Academy was not part of Schicksal.

Theresa, you little rascal. You've got a rebellious streak, don't you?

So, was the system telling him to intercept them?

To snatch away the bonds Theresa was fated to form in the future?

Otto's eyes narrowed slightly as he looked away from the system panel.

This was something he should plan for after he had returned safely to Schicksal HQ.

His finger was still tapping gently on the Seven Thunders. Raven had yet to give him an answer, and Otto was growing impatient.

Impatient with Schicksal's inefficiency.

I've been gone for this long, and Schicksal still hasn't sent anyone? Your Overseer is about to reach his breaking point here!

If Raven refused his offer, what would his next move be?

As Otto pondered this, the door was suddenly pounded on with tremendous force.

---o---

Otto and Raven simultaneously whipped their heads toward the door. The knocking stopped, and a clear, pleasant voice rang out.

"Sir, would you like room service?"

The voice was very familiar, as if he'd heard it somewhere before.

But Otto couldn't place it right away. The threat and pressure from Raven and World Serpent were consuming too much of his attention.

Otto and Raven exchanged a glance. She remained silent, leaving him to answer.

"We're already being serviced."

Raven: ???

Hearing Otto's reply, the voice outside disappeared. They must have left.

Then again, people who came to love hotels usually came in pairs. Who would need room service?

But then, the knocking started again, louder this time.

"Sir, open up! I need to check the water meter!" the young woman's voice called out again.

Otto's right hand tightened its grip on the Seven Thunders. If he didn't realize something was wrong by now, he might as well go find a plot of land and bury himself to avoid dying of stupidity later.

Someone was outside, and they wanted in.

The urgent knocking stopped, but Otto didn't speak or move. He knew it wasn't over yet.

"Open the door!"

BOOM!

A deafening crash echoed through the room. A white-haired girl with two pigtails had kicked the door clean off its hinges, snapping it in half.

The ruined door fell to the floor.

Dust billowed up, then settled.

Otto narrowed his eyes.

Tight hot pants outlined a full, well-proportioned rear. The girl's high-kick posture left the curves of her waist and hips on full display.

Her beautiful face still held a trace of youthfulness. She wore a t-shirt under a white and gray jacket. Her fair, slender legs were bare, without stockings, and her shoes were practical athletic wear. She looked every bit the sporty type.

Her entire being radiated an aura of youthful vigor.

For some reason, Otto had a feeling that at any moment, this beautiful girl might shout:

"Light 'em up!"

Otto recognized the girl who had just broken down his door. She was—

Kiana Kaslana.

's clone.

K423.

A pitiful creature whose fate had been cruelly toyed with by Otto.

Although, if one were to be technical, as her creator, she ought to call him "Father."

But this unfilial daughter had just kicked in his door. She pulled two pistols from her waist, her eyes scanning the room before locking them onto the only man present.

"Freeze! Get down! Hands on your head!"

After barking the order, Kiana turned her head to look at Raven on the bed. Seeing the girl clutching a pillow, a bright light flashed in her azure eyes, and the cowlick on her head twitched.

A wild beautiful girl has appeared!

Raven, for her part, was scared witless. When Kiana had first burst in, she had still been agonizing over whether to switch jobs. Then she saw this girl who bore a slight resemblance to Kevin.

For a split second, Raven thought Kevin had cross-dressed to come and rescue her. She was about to fall to her knees and pledge her loyalty to World Serpent, to tell her Lord that she would never be tempted by Otto.

But then she remembered her boss was still trapped in the Sea of Quanta, and their appearances were quite different. It took Raven a moment to realize this wasn't Kevin.

So what was happening?

Who was this girl?

Could she be Kevin's daughter, here to save her?

At this point in time, the free-range K423 had not yet entered World Serpent's field of vision, so Raven didn't recognize her.

She had no idea this was the future Herrscher of the Void who would one day obliterate her private island villa.

Kiana flashed Raven a warm smile and spoke in a gentle, comforting tone.

"Don't worry, I'm here to save you! You must have been so scared."

"It's okay now. I'll protect you."

"This young lady is super strong, you know."

Facing Otto, Kiana kept her pistols level, not wavering for an instant. She walked to the bed and shielded Raven with her slender frame.

Her cold gaze fell upon the utterly unfazed Otto.

Her finger rested on the trigger. If he made any suspicious moves, she would fire without hesitation.

"I saw you! In broad daylight, you dare to abduct a helpless maiden! And all the people around just looked the other way, not a single one willing to help! Good ol' Italy, truly a place of simple folk and polka stars."

"But what they don't dare to handle, I will! The person they don't dare to save, I will!"

Her words were filled with righteous fury.

Kiana, a paragon of justice.

Hearing Kiana's speech, it finally dawned on Otto. So, Kiana had seen him carrying Raven into the love hotel.

Therefore... he was being raided by the Paramecium?
