While Ye Leng Leng headed to the Training Ground to call Dugu Yan back for a meal, Li Rong and Bi Ji remained lying beneath the shade of the Blood Dragon Tree, quietly enjoying a rare moment of peace.

When Dugu Yan pushed the door open and walked in, she happened to see the two of them together. Her steps faltered instantly. A flush surged up her neck, and for a brief moment, her composure nearly collapsed.

"No—before I went to the Training Ground, you were still distant and immune to temptation," she blurted out. "How did things suddenly change like this?"

Her gaze locked onto Li Rong, frustration and confusion swirling within her eyes.

"What exactly am I lacking?"

Li Rong, however, offered no answer to her silent accusation.

Only after Ye Leng Leng finished arranging the dishes, Snow Princess closed the shop doors, and the three girls gathered beneath the Blood Dragon Tree did Li Rong finally rise to his feet.

Bi Ji followed quietly, cheeks faintly red as she tidied her clothes. Her impression of Li Rong had completely overturned—where she once saw aloof detachment, she now felt warmth and steadiness. After the meal ended and Li Rong set down his chopsticks, Dugu Yan immediately seized the chance.

"Why did you accept Sister Bi Ji?" she asked directly.

"There's nothing complicated about it," Li Rong replied honestly. "She said she truly liked this shop, so I let her stay."

"…That's all?" Dugu Yan, Snow Princess, and Ye Leng Leng exchanged glances, clearly unconvinced. They turned their attention toward Bi Ji, who merely smiled gently, neither confirming nor denying anything.

Snow Princess blinked thoughtfully. "I also like this shop. Can I become a permanent employee as well?"

"Oh?" Li Rong looked at her seriously for once. "Then let me ask you properly—do you truly like this shop?"

Snow Princess opened her mouth, but the words stalled. For the first time, she hesitated.

The phrase liking this shop echoed in Ye Leng Leng's mind as well, stirring unexpected thoughts. Dugu Yan seemed to realize something too and was about to speak—

But Li Rong interrupted first.

"Let's open a temporary event."

All three girls froze.

"Snow Princess and Leng Leng will organize it. No restrictions—any Spirit Master or Spirit Beast in the Training Ground can participate."

"The name will be…" He paused briefly. "Monster Invasion."

This was a spark he intended to ignite—one that would push the continent's forces to cultivate more aggressively.

"Even after I openly supported civilian Spirit Masters, the forces led by the Clear Sky Sect still cling stubbornly to family inheritance, obstructing academy development," Li Rong continued calmly. "It's time to stimulate them again."

"A temporary event?" The four girls exchanged startled looks.

Li Rong laid out the rules methodically.

"All participants' spirit power will be fixed at level thirty. Higher levels will be suppressed; lower levels will be raised."

"I'll open a temporary passage in the square. Monsters will pour out in ten waves. Their types and numbers will be random, but their strength will remain fixed at level thirty."

"Each wave lasts ten minutes. Even if a wave isn't cleared, the next one will still arrive on schedule."

"The tenth wave will include a giant leader. Due to the passage's limitation, only half its body can emerge."

"Hold out for one thousand minutes, and the event counts as cleared."

"If even one participant survives, it's considered a full clear. The more survivors there are, the greater the reward multiplier."

Snow Princess finished conveying the details and asked the crowd, "Any questions?"

The square erupted instantly.

"Why launch an event so suddenly?" Ning Fengzhi frowned slightly. "Is Boss Li hinting at something?"

Emperor Tian and several Spirit Beasts grew solemn.

"Is another continent preparing to invade?"

"Or is some unknown force threatening Douluo?"

Snow Princess's expression softened as she explained, "There's no deeper implication. Bi Ji has received the Boss's approval and signed a lifelong contract, officially becoming a permanent employee of the Sacrificial Shop."

"This event is simply a celebration."

Cheers exploded from the Spirit Beast side.

On the human side, sighs followed instead.

Many Spirit Masters couldn't help wondering what would happen if Spirit Beasts truly came to dominate the Sacrificial Shop.

Unlike most, Ning Fengzhi felt relieved instead. He pressed further, "Will the monsters be limited to known creatures?"

"And the reward?" others demanded eagerly.

"There are no hints," Snow Princess replied evenly. "All information must be discovered during the event. The system will only display the number of remaining monsters."

"The final reward is sacrificial coins. For every participant who survives, all participants will receive one sacrificial coin."

The square instantly erupted into deafening excitement.

Ning Fengzhi's eyes flashed. He leaned toward the foreign affairs elder and whispered, "Once the event ends, organize the academy immediately. Exchange sacrificial coins for gold coins…"

"Students and teachers won't gain many coins, and most won't have use for them. They'll sell."

"And once the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School gathers them…"

Other faction leaders reached similar realizations. Meanwhile, the Clear Sky Sect's expressions darkened.

The flaw of family inheritance was exposed brutally.

Academies had thousands of students. Families had only a handful.

Tang Lie clenched his teeth and whispered, "After this event, we establish Haotian Academy at the foot of the mountain."

"The Elders won't agree."

"Then we force it."

After a long pause, Tang Xiao nodded. "…Alright."

"The event begins in one hour and lasts one hundred minutes," Snow Princess announced.

As the crowd settled, she and Ye Leng Leng leapt onto the floating platform, overlooking the battlefield.

"You noticed it too, didn't you?" Snow Princess asked softly. "The hidden meaning behind his words."

"I have a guess," Ye Leng Leng replied. "I'll confirm it after the event."

Inside the shop, Li Rong opened the live broadcast.

"Over seven hundred thousand participants already," Dugu Yan said in surprise.

"They're still calling people," Bi Ji added happily. "It'll probably exceed nine hundred thousand."

She smiled at the sight of Spirit Beasts and humans standing side by side.

"Spirit Beast leaders: Emperor Tian, Ice Emperor, Demon Emperor. Humans: Qian Renxue, Ning Fengzhi, Dai Tianfeng."

"Perfect representation," Li Rong said calmly. "But meaningless."

"Monsters don't care about factions."

Bi Ji tilted her head. "How many do you think will survive?"

"No more than twenty thousand," Li Rong replied. "Issuing too many sacrificial coins wouldn't be cost-effective."

Dugu Yan startled. "You're planning to wipe them out in the final wave?"

Li Rong sighed. "If they don't learn cooperation and keep clinging to camps, they won't survive anyway."

Bi Ji hesitated. "Should I warn them?"

"No." Li Rong shook his head gently. "Only chaos can force true cooperation."
