The teams heading toward the various Ninja Villages were quickly finalized.
The first team, led by Qian Renxue, consisted of Gao Feng, Yang Xian, Bai Chenxiang, and Xie Yue. Their destination was the farthest of the five—Iwagakure, Hidden Stone Village of the Land of Earth.
The second team was captained by Jade Heavenheart, accompanied by Yu Heng, Ning Rongrong, Wang Wangyuan, and Meng Yiran, heading toward Kumogakure in the Land of Lightning.
The third team, under Shui Bing'er's command, included Huo Wu, Feng Xiaotian, Feng Xin, and Yao Zi, traveling to the Land of Water's Kirigakure, the Hidden Mist Village.
The fourth team was led by Dai Cheng, with Zhu Zhuqing, Liu Yanhu, Zhu Zhuyu, and Zhu Zhuyun, bound for Sunagakure in the Land of Wind.
Once the personnel were confirmed, Li Rong laid out the mission details in one breath, as if afraid someone might interrupt him.
"Each team gets ten boxes of funds—ten million in local currency total. This money is strictly for hiring Ninja. It is not for personal use. If I find out someone spent it on snacks or souvenirs, don't blame me for settling accounts afterward."
A few people subconsciously straightened their posture.
"Your objective is simple. Each team must hire five Jonin-level Ninja teams, capable of handling S-rank missions."
He raised a finger.
"The mission content: come to Uzushiogakure Village and help me build a city. I'll provide all materials. They do the labor. You supervise. Duration: three months."
Another finger went up.
"Tell them clearly—we've placed similar orders with all Five Great Ninja Villages. If they don't want to take it, that's fine. But if they accept, they must give it their all."
"And if they ask who you are," Li Rong added casually, "just say you're from overseas, crossed the ocean, settled in Uzushiogakure, and are preparing to build a city for trade."
"Once the city is complete, anyone willing to follow the city's rules is welcome to do business."
He swept his gaze across the group.
"Information about the Ninja World? Gather it yourselves along the way. Any questions?"
"No."
The reply was unanimous, though the tension on several young faces was hard to hide. After all, this was their first real mission in another World. Being nervous was only human.
"Oh, right," Li Rong suddenly added, as if just remembering something trivial, "each team may bring two Spirit Beasts."
The atmosphere instantly changed.
"So no one can accuse me of being heartless," he continued leisurely. "However, they must remain inside this specially prepared living-storage spirit tool."
"You are not allowed to release them unless you encounter a genuine life-or-death crisis. Your mission evaluation will be based on this."
The tension evaporated almost instantly.
With an invisible safety net secured, several people's expressions subtly shifted from nervous to dangerously optimistic.
Li Rong ignored their internal excitement. He instructed the remaining Spirit Beasts to continue clearing the ruins, then directly summoned the flying puppet he had used before.
With a smooth leap, he boarded it along with Bi Ji, Snow Princess, Dugu Yan, and Ye Leng Leng, rising into the sky without a second glance.
Only after Li Rong departed did Qian Renxue speak again.
"Everyone, be cautious," she said calmly. "The Spirit Beasts can't sense the outside while stored. If danger appears suddenly, our reaction time will be limited."
Dai Cheng nodded. "We should also take this chance to gather as much intelligence as possible. We won't have this level of protection on future missions."
"After regrouping, we'll share everything we learn."
"Agreed."
"Okay."
Shui Bing'er and Jade Heavenheart responded in unison.
The timing couldn't have been worse.
The Third Great Ninja World War was looming. Tension hung over the land like a storm cloud, and every Village had strengthened its border patrols.
Li Rong knew this well—and didn't care in the slightest.
Before nearing the border, he calmly guided the flying puppet down. With a wave of his hand, a carriage materialized out of thin air.
Bi Ji and Ye Leng Leng took the reins, while Li Rong entered the carriage with Snow Princess and Dugu Yan, immediately adopting the posture of a man ready to enjoy a leisurely journey.
The carriage rolled gently forward and soon crossed into the Land of Fire.
Not long after, a patrol from Konoha Village appeared.
"Halt!"
A Ninja wearing a Konoha forehead protector stepped forward, hand raised. At the same time, three others melted into the surroundings, silently forming an encirclement.
The leading Ninja's gaze was sharp as he inspected the unmarked carriage. The kunai in his hand rose slightly.
"State your identities," he demanded. "Why are you entering the Land of Fire through a secluded route?"
Li Rong lifted the curtain and hooked it onto the carriage roof, openly revealing the empty interior. Then he stepped down with Snow Princess and Dugu Yan, deliberately maintaining distance.
"I'm a merchant from the Land of Whirlpools," Li Rong said politely, cupping his hands. "I'm heading to Konoha Village to post a mission and hire Ninja."
Seeing his merchant attire—and the four stunning women accompanying him—the Ninja's guard eased just a little.
"This area is restricted," he said. "If you wish to enter Konoha, take the official road to the east."
Li nodded, then turned back and retrieved several thick banknotes—roughly fifty thousand taels.
"My wives and I are new here and unfamiliar with the roads. Could we hire you to guide us? I'm willing to pay."
The Ninja scrutinized them carefully.
One man. No visible training. No detectable Chakra from the women.
After a moment, he sheathed his kunai.
"I have another mission and cannot accept employment," he replied. "Turn east from here. Walk for a quarter hour and you'll reach the official road. Follow it to the border outpost."
The moment he finished speaking, he vanished.
The hidden Ninja dispersed just as silently.
"Impressive?" Li Rong chuckled as he lowered the curtain again.
As the fabric fell, a black insect hidden in its folds lost its grip and dropped to the ground, burrowing into the soil in a flash.
"They're not strong," Dugu Yan said, shaking her head, "but their vigilance and coordination are excellent. No wonder wars never stop in this World."
Ye Leng Leng frowned. "I have a bad feeling… those young people might suffer."
Snow Princess was indifferent. "If they cross borders recklessly without understanding negotiation, dying is normal."
Li Rong laughed softly. "You're not exactly vigilant yourselves either."
The four women stiffened.
"They're still monitoring us remotely," he added lightly.
Snow Princess immediately prepared to probe with her mental force, but Li Rong waved her off.
"We're here to hire Ninja, not start a war. Relax."
After subtly altering the reconnaissance insect's memory, Li boarded the carriage again. Bi Ji flicked the reins, and the carriage turned east.
Moments later, a shadow appeared, retrieving the insect from the soil. Chakra flickered faintly as information flowed back.
Only then did the hidden observers finally disperse—for real.
