Bang!
The wooden door was kicked open with such force that Li Rong briefly wondered whether Konoha kept a dedicated budget just for replacing doors in the Hokage Building.
Before anyone could react, a red-haired figure stormed in like a human cannonball.
Uzumaki Kushina's sharp eyes swept the room once, instantly locking onto Li Rong. Without wasting a single word, she cocked her fist and charged forward.
"My ancestral land is not for sale!"
The surrounding Konoha Ninja exchanged silent looks. No one stepped in—each of them merely circulated Chakra, ready to interfere only if things truly spiraled out of control.
Bang!
Snow Princess lifted a single finger.
An ice wall rose instantly from the ground, smooth and translucent, intercepting Kushina's fist perfectly. Not a trace of excess force leaked out.
Hand seals?
None.
Water source?
Also none.
The temperature in the Hokage's office dropped several degrees.
The Konoha Ninja present stiffened simultaneously. Their previously relaxed postures vanished, replaced by pure combat readiness.
Orochimaru's slit pupils narrowed. Jiraiya shifted half a step forward. Together, they flanked Hiruzen Sarutobi without exchanging a single word.
Snow Princess casually pointed again. The ice wall shattered into crystal mist, a cold current surging toward Kushina as if intending to freeze her in place.
Minato Namikaze reacted instantly.
In a flash of yellow light, he appeared in front of Li Rong, arms already wrapped around Kushina, using the Body Flicker to evade the freezing wave.
"Kushina, calm down," Minato said gently, hands resting firmly on her shoulders.
"Snow Princess, stop," Li Rong said calmly, raising a hand. Then he turned to Kushina with an easy smile. "There's really no need to be so emotional. How about you hear my offer first?"
Kushina shook off Minato's grip, clearly startled by the Ice Release she'd just witnessed. She glanced at Snow Princess, then snorted.
"Would you sell your ancestral land if someone offered to buy it?"
"If the price is right?" Li Rong chuckled. "Why not?"
He leaned back slightly, tone casual. "As far as I know, when Konoha was founded, plenty of Ninja clans relocated their ancestral lands to move here."
Kushina froze for a moment, then huffed angrily.
"They're them. I'm me!"
Li Rong snapped his fingers.
"Ten million Ryo."
Dugu Yan immediately opened a large box, stacks of neatly arranged ten-thousand Ryo notes gleaming inside.
Kushina's Chakra erupted on instinct, cracking the floor beneath her feet.
"What do you take me for?!" she roared.
Li Rong snapped his fingers again.
"Twenty million."
Bi Ji opened a second box without a word.
"Since you've already settled in Konoha," Li Rong continued evenly, "and you haven't returned to the Uzushiogakure ruins even once to clean them up, I assume that place isn't especially important to you."
Kushina nearly blurted out, That's because the Third Hokage wouldn't let me leave!
But Minato was faster, covering her mouth with a helpless sigh.
"Kushina…"
Hiruzen's pipe paused mid-air. His expression turned awkward. Orochimaru's lips curled upward. Jiraiya coughed loudly, barely suppressing laughter.
The atmosphere grew… complicated.
Li Rong snapped his fingers a third time.
"Thirty million Ryo."
Ye Leng Leng placed the third box down.
"An S-rank mission pays one million," Li Rong said calmly. "Half goes to the Village. The rest gets split among the team."
"This amount is equivalent to completing hundreds of S-rank missions. Does this price work?"
Even Minato was momentarily stunned.
Kushina finally tore Minato's hand away.
"I already said it," she growled. "I'm not selling!"
Li Rong's eyes narrowed slightly—not annoyed, but thoughtful.
So there's still emotional attachment… though not enough to be unbreakable.
Money alone wouldn't do it.
That was fine.
He changed the offer.
"How about an artificial Spirit Bone refined with natural energy?"
The room went dead silent.
Orochimaru's eyes lit up instantly.
"Natural energy… artificial… Spirit Bone…" he repeated softly, each word familiar, yet completely incomprehensible when combined. "Could you explain, Boss Li?"
Jiraiya frowned. He knew that tone far too well. When Orochimaru sounded like that, it meant his sanity was already halfway to the lab.
Li Rong took out a translucent, jade-like right arm bone. Faint green natural energy flowed across its surface, intricate runes lighting up as his fingers brushed over it.
Jiraiya sensed it briefly, then nodded toward Hiruzen.
Natural energy—real and unmistakable.
"This is a special artificial bone," Li Rong explained, "shaped like a right arm. It's refined using natural energy."
"When a Ninja places it on their arm and channels Chakra, it fuses directly with the body."
"It increases bone toughness, arm strength, and contains a formation that allows a fixed Ninjutsu to be released instantly—no hand seals."
"Because it uses natural energy, its power far exceeds standard Ninjutsu."
"It also enhances perception, absorption, and control of natural energy."
Hiruzen stood up so abruptly that his chair toppled over.
"Hand-seal-less Ninjutsu?!" he exclaimed. "Like the Ice Release just now?!"
His voice actually trembled.
This wasn't just powerful—it overturned the entire logic of the Ninja system.
Orochimaru's breathing grew heavier. His pupils shrank to thin vertical lines, face flushed with manic excitement.
"Oh, that wasn't it," Li Rong said casually. "So—shall we trade?"
"I'll deliver this Spirit Bone immediately."
"In exchange, I'll purchase the land extending ten kilometers in all directions from the Uzushiogakure ruins."
Kushina stared at the arm bone.
Images flooded her mind—Minato flashing forward, unleashing hand-seal-less Ninjutsu, dominating the battlefield in the coming war.
"…How do you prove this works?" she asked hoarsely.
"I'll give it to you now," Li Rong replied calmly. "If you're unsatisfied afterward, I'll withdraw the trade."
"This is Konoha," he added with a smile. "I trust you."
"…What Ninjutsu is carved inside?" Kushina finally asked.
"Wind Release: Vacuum Great Sphere."
Perfect.
Long-range. High-output.
Exactly what Minato lacked.
Kushina made her decision instantly.
"To the training ground. Now."
Inside the training field, she shoved the Spirit Bone into Minato's hands.
"Take it. Don't argue."
"I can't fight beside you," she said firmly. "So let this take my place."
Minato hesitated, then nodded, placing the bone against his arm.
Chakra surged.
The Spirit Bone dissolved into blue light, merging seamlessly with his right arm.
Less than ten minutes later, Minato opened his eyes.
At Hiruzen's signal, he raised his hand.
A three-meter-wide compressed wind sphere formed instantly.
Boom!
The boulder ahead was annihilated.
The ground collapsed.
The training field became a disaster zone.
Jiraiya's mouth twitched. Orochimaru looked ready to commit several crimes against ethics.
"Chakra consumption?" Hiruzen asked eagerly.
"Normal Vacuum Great Sphere levels," Minato replied. "I can still use it twice."
"Recovery time: four hours per charge."
No risk. No backlash.
Kushina exhaled slowly.
She turned to Li Rong.
"I'm satisfied," she said firmly. "The land is yours."
Then she hesitated.
"…Do you have more Spirit Bones?"
Orochimaru's gaze snapped toward Li Rong with terrifying intensity.
