ARC 1 – CHAPTER 5

THE BUTCHER

PART 1

Hunter Becomes the Hunted

The Butcher moved like a machine. No hesitation. No fear. Black Vein had sent him with one order: Kill the Boogeyman.

Kai crouched on the subway platform, eyes scanning every shadow. The train roared past—steel on steel. He knew it was only a matter of time before The Butcher found him.

Then the first gunshot rang out.

Kai rolled behind a pillar. Bullets ricocheted off concrete. Too fast. Too precise.

He knows me already. Kai thought.

The bio-organism stirred beneath his skin, sensing the predator.

We can fight this.

Kai gritted his teeth.

"Then fight we will."

PART 2

Steel Against Flesh

The fight escalated into the tunnel.

The Butcher's strength was inhuman—trained, augmented, calculated. Every punch Kai blocked felt like a hammer blow. Every kick shattered concrete.

Kai adapted:

Tendrils sprouted from his arms, slashing metal beams

Knives extended from his forearms

Bio-Carnage reflexes dodged bullets mid-flight

Yet The Butcher kept coming—machine-like, relentless.

Kai landed a knife in the Butcher's shoulder. He twisted. Pain? Maybe. Stopping him? Never.

I underestimated him, Kai admitted to himself, heart pounding.

A blur of motion. A punch broke Kai's rib. Another strike sent him flying across the platform. Blood pooled. Bio-organism growled, testing limits.

Kai realized: this fight was more than survival—it was war.

PART 3

Edge of Control

Kai leapt from a broken railing, landing atop The Butcher. Tendrils erupted, wrapping around him, blinding him, shredding his armor.

The Butcher growled, ripping the tendrils away, but the impact sent him crashing into the tunnel wall.

Kai was bleeding. Broken ribs. Exhaustion clawing at him. Every strike was a battle of mind, muscle, and monster.

Finally, a brutal combination: headbutt, tendon strike, knife twist. The Butcher crumpled.

Kai didn't celebrate. The subway echoed with silence.

He whispered, chest heaving:

"You… were too strong."

The bio-organism pulsed inside, tasting fear and triumph.

This is only the beginning.

Kai walked into the darkness. The city had witnessed a war. Only the echoes remained.
